Consequently, the specialized units of the Branch launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the suspect. Following investigations and inquiries, they succeeded in identifying him as: A. H. (born in 1998, Lebanese) On 23-05-2026, following a meticulous surveillance and monitoring operation, a patrol from the Information Branch caught him red-handed in the Dekwaneh area while he was distributing narcotics on board a gray “GR” motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle led to the seizure of: • 8 plastic containers marked “$100” containing cocaine • 3 paper packets marked “Foreign” containing cocaine • 5 plastic containers marked “net” containing cocaine • 25 plastic containers containing cocaine • One cannabis cigarette and a booklet of rolling papers During interrogation, he confessed to the charges brought against him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, along with the seized items, to the competent judicial authority, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

(born in 1972) filed a complaint stating that an unknown individual had stolen gold rings, a wristwatch, precious stones, amber bracelets, and a sum of money from him. The theft occurred after the suspect assisted him in booking a room at a hotel in the Maameltein area. The value of the stolen items was estimated at approximately USD 250,000. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces launched field and intelligence measures to identify and arrest the perpetrator. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying him as: A. A. (born in 1986, Lebanese) Following close surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the Branch arrested him in the town of Broummana while he was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee SUV, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the vehicle led to the seizure of a plastic container containing a substance believed to be the narcotic “crystal meth,” a glass pipe used for its consumption, and four mobile phones. His residence was also searched, but the stolen items were not found. During questioning, he admitted that he had met the complainant by chance and that the latter had asked him to secure a hotel room for him because he was intoxicated. After booking the room, he proceeded to steal his belongings. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority. The vehicle was also placed under judicial seizure upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

B., born in 1976, Lebanese) reported that a group of unknown armed individuals entered his residence located in the Hamra area / Beirut, after threatening the building concierge with military weapons and restraining the domestic worker. They managed to steal an iron safe containing five luxury wristwatches estimated to be worth approximately USD /200,000/, before fleeing to an unknown destination. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence measures to identify and arrest those involved. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify a number of those involved, including: H. Z. D. (born in 1998, Lebanese) M. K. (born in 1976, Lebanese) A. A. H. (born in 1975, Lebanese) A. Y. (born in 2000, Palestinian) On 14 and 16-05-2026, following precise surveillance and monitoring operations, patrols from the Branch were able to arrest them in the areas of Bir Hassan, Tahwitat Al-Ghadir, and Jnah. During the investigation, they confessed to the charges attributed to them regarding their participation, along with others, in planning and carrying out the theft. They also stated that, after carrying out the operation, they went to the residence of the detainee (A. A. H.), where they examined the stolen watches. They then contacted his son, who resides in the United States of America and owns a jewelry and watch shop, and smuggled the watches to him. The detainee (M. K.) also confessed to keeping one of the stolen watches and selling it in the Barbir market for USD /2,300/. The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainees, and they were handed over to the competent authority upon the instruction of the competent judiciary. Efforts are still ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.

She noted that the European Union, in cooperation with the UNDP, supports Lebanon by enhancing the capabilities of security institutions and first-response agencies. She explained that the donation includes diving equipment, boats, communication devices, and maritime response equipment for several units of the Internal Security Forces and Civil Defense, representing an investment exceeding USD 1.2 million. She further stressed that the effectiveness of search and rescue operations depends not only on equipment but also on cooperation, coordination, and information-sharing among the relevant institutions. (born in 1994, Syrian) to a hospital after he had sustained a gunshot wound to the hand that penetrated his chest. He later succumbed to his injuries. The person who transported him refused to provide his identity or phone number and claimed that the victim had been shot during an attempted robbery in the Ard Jalloul area. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces launched field and intelligence investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident, identify those involved, and arrest them. As a result of intensive inquiries and investigations, the Information Branch determined that the victim had been present at a butcher shop in Tariq El Jdideh owned by: W. Q. (born in 2001, Syrian) On 12/05/2026, following a precise surveillance and monitoring operation, one of the Branch’s patrols arrested him in the Tariq El Jdideh area. During interrogation, he confessed that on 04/05/2026, while A. Z. was inside his butcher shop, he accidentally fired a shot from a Glock pistol while joking with the victim. The bullet struck the victim’s hand and penetrated his chest. He further admitted that, with the assistance of his father: S. Q. (born in 1977, Syrian) and his uncle: S. Q. (born in 1975, Syrian) as well as several workers, he transported the victim to a pharmacy inside Shatila Camp in an attempt to provide first aid, before taking him to a hospital where he later died. He also admitted that they instructed those present in the butcher shop to provide false statements claiming that the victim had arrived already wounded by gunfire, in an attempt to mislead investigators and the victim’s family. He further stated that he hid the firearm in a room on the outskirts of the camp. In addition, he confessed to removing and discarding the shop’s surveillance cameras to conceal evidence of the crime and revealed that they were planning to contact the victim’s family in Syria to obtain a waiver of legal rights. The father and uncle of W. Q. were subsequently arrested and confessed to their involvement. The firearm used in the incident was recovered and seized. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspects, who were referred, along with the seized evidence, to the competent judicial authority based on the instructions of the judiciary.

As part of the cooperation and coordination between the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces and civil society organizations, Dar Al-Amal Association organized a training session on “Gender Sensitivity” at the Women’s Prison in Tripoli on 20 May 2026. The session was attended by the Association’s social worker, Ms. Mona Issa, along with several association members and female prison guards. The training began with a welcome session and an explanation of its objectives, emphasizing the importance of gender-sensitive practices within the prison environment, particularly in relation to the treatment of female inmates and their specific needs. The session aimed to explain the concept of gender sensitivity, defined as an approach based on understanding the different needs and circumstances of women and men and taking them into account in daily practices to ensure fairness and non-discrimination. It also sought to raise awareness about the importance of addressing the specific needs of female inmates. Through interactive activities, the training highlighted key challenges faced by female prison officers, including issues related to motherhood, pregnancy, and difficult social circumstances that some inmates may have experienced before incarceration. The session also addressed the distinction between equity and equality, with participants emphasizing the importance of treating each inmate according to her individual circumstances and needs, while improving communication through active listening, support, and the reporting of complaints to the appropriate authorities. A dedicated segment focused on self-care and reflection, in recognition of the psychological and physical pressures faced by prison personnel in the course of their duties. At the conclusion of the training, participants expressed their satisfaction with the session, noting that it had enhanced their knowledge and provided them with new concepts and skills.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: On 22/05/2026, a workshop on the concept of community policing was inaugurated at the Jounieh Municipality building, with the participation of the Internal Security Forces, the Keserwan Federation of Municipalities, and the coastal municipalities, in coordination with “Siren Associates.” The workshop aimed to strengthen cooperation and coordination between security agencies, municipal police, and citizens, thereby contributing to the development of joint security work, enhancing preventive security, and reinforcing effective partnerships to preserve security and stability within cities and towns. On this occasion, the Commander of the Mount Lebanon Region in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, Brigadier General Abdo Khalil, representing the Director General of the Internal Security Forces Major General Raed Abdallah, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of continuous cooperation and coordination between security agencies and local authorities. He stressed that security work is based on service, trust, and partnership, and that ongoing communication between the Internal Security Forces and municipalities enhances preventive and proactive security and contributes to achieving the desired positive outcomes. An exceptional concert entitled “Peace for Lebanon” was held at the Cathedral of Saints Gregory and Elias for Armenian Catholics – Debbas Square in downtown Beirut, under the patronage and in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, Patriarch of the Armenian Catholics. Brigadier General Doctor El Fard Hanna, Chief of Staff of the Internal Security Forces, represented the Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar and the Director General of the Internal Security Forces Major General Raed Abdallah at the event, which was attended by ministerial, parliamentary, political, judicial, military, and media figures, in addition to more than 500 guests. The concert was performed by the Internal Security Forces Band under the direction of Colonel Antoine Touma, with the participation of elite opera singers and professional performers, accompanied by the Mar Elias – Ballouneh Choir. The program featured a selection of Lebanese national musical pieces by the Rahbani Brothers, Zaki Nassif, and Majida El Roumi, in addition to renowned international and Armenian musical works performed in more than six languages.
