Opening of Zouheir Joudi building in Jimayzeh sponsored by Major General osman and in the presnce of the two ambassadors of the UE and spain

Sponsored and on the presence of the Director General of the ISF, Major General Imad Osman, and the Ambassador of the European Union in Lebanon, Mrs. Sandra De Waele, and the Ambassador of Spain, Mr. Jesus Santos Aguado , there was, on the 3rd of September 2024, the inauguration of Zouheir Joudi building in Jimayzeh , that we have started the opiningand modernization works , in the framework of enhancing the concepts of community policing by means of the EU financing , further its destruction by the Beirut port explosion on 4th of August 2020. And this building comprises the commandment of the third Territorial Company of Beirut, and the two police stations of Al Jimayzeh and Al Nahr.

And were present in this ceremony, the Muhafez of Beirut, the Magistrate Marwan Abboud, the Coordinator of the Project of Enhancing the Community Policing , Mrs. Consuelo Navaro , a Representative of the French Embassy , Mr. Oscar Luba, a liaison Officer in the Embassy of Spain Mr. Antonio Bernabeu , the Commander in Chief of the ISF Institute, the Administrative General Bilal Al Hajjar, the Commander of the Police of Beirut by proxy, General Ahmad Abla, the head of the Public Relations Department, General Joseph Moussallem, the Commander of the Third Territorial Company of Beirut, General Ahmad Hamdan and a number of officers.

And further unveiling the commemorative plate in the entry of the building, and also after cutting the ribbon of inauguration, by Major General Imad Osman, and the two Ambassadors De Waele and Aguado, Mrs Navaro has expressed her beatitude for the end of the restoration works related to the building, and its readiness to play its role in the heart of the capital Beirut.

From his side, Major General Imad Osman, has thanked all the project responsible and especially the EU represented by the Ambassador De Waele, and he highlighted the big role of the EU who shared to enhance the security, and the safety, also the service of the Lebanese citizen.

Further one, the audience has made a roundup in the sections of the building and have inspected the offices, the investigation’s rooms, the detention and arrest centers that respect the criteria of the human rights.

Foiled Attempt to Smuggle Narcotics into Saudi Arabia

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces' ongoing efforts to pursue and arrest those involved in drug-related crimes, and within the security plan implemented by the Judicial Police Unit to combat drug trafficking and curb its spread, the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau received information on 17 July 2026 regarding preparations to smuggle narcotics to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a shipping company. Following surveillance and monitoring of the shipment, officers arrested the individual delivering the parcel while he was handing it over to the shipping company. He was identified as: H. N. (born in 1977, Lebanese). A search of the parcel led to the seizure of approximately 5,000 Captagon tablets, professionally concealed inside a flower vase box. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect. Investigations are ongoing, under the supervision of the competent judicial authority, to identify and arrest the remaining individuals involved.

Traffic Measures in Corniche Al Nahr and Bhamdoun from 10 to 14 August 2026 Due to Road Maintenance Works

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: First – Corniche Al Nahr: From 10 August 2026 until Friday, 14 August 2026, a contracting company will carry out asphalt tack-coat spraying on the section extending from under the Peugeot Bridge to the Dakhliyeh intersection, daily from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following day. The road will be closed to traffic throughout the works. Traffic will be diverted left from beneath the bridge, then right after the Mallah station toward Badawi, continuing to Badawi – Nahr Entrance (Dakhliyeh) – Karantina. Traffic heading uphill will be diverted either toward Charles Malek Avenue or left toward Our Lady Church – Sassine. Second – Bhamdoun: On 10 August 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m., a contracting company will spray the international highway extending from the Dahr El Baidar Police Station to the Bhamdoun Tunnel in both directions in preparation for resurfacing works. Traffic will remain open throughout these works. Citizens are kindly requested to comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the directional traffic signs in the affected areas to facilitate traffic flow.

Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit Arrests a Married Couple for Drug Trafficking in Jounieh and Seizes a Quantity of Narcotics

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts of the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and pursue those involved, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information that an individual was dealing narcotics on a motorcycle in the Jounieh – Maameltein road area. Following surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the unit was able, on 28 July 2026, to arrest him while riding a blue and black motorcycle, accompanied by his wife. They were identified as: J. R. (born in 2007, Lebanese) K. G. (born in 2007, Lebanese) A search of the two suspects led to the seizure of: A quantity of white powdery substance, distributed in various containers and bags and prepared for distribution. Three bags containing cannabis resin (hashish). Cash and two mobile phones. During their arrest, they stated that an additional quantity of narcotics was located inside their home in the same area. Upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the patrol raided the home and, during the search, found 14 medium-sized packets containing a white substance. The two detainees, along with the motorcycle and the seized items, were handed over to the competent police station to take the necessary legal measures against them, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judiciary.

Information Branch Arrests a Wanted Suspect in Aley for Theft and Circulating Counterfeit Currency

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat crime and pursue wanted persons and suspects across Lebanon, and following field and intelligence monitoring carried out by the specialized units of the Information Branch, the Branch was able to determine the whereabouts of a person wanted by the judiciary for theft and circulating counterfeit currency in the Bsatine – Aley area. He was identified as: T. Z. (born in 1984, Lebanese), who is subject to four arrest warrants for theft and circulating counterfeit currency. Following a precise surveillance operation, one of the Branch's patrols arrested him in the above-mentioned area. A search led to the seizure of the following items in his possession: A military handgun with a magazine. 19 coloring tubes, believed to be used in forgery operations. A black military badge. 6 mobile phones. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
