Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations DivisionThe following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and distribution across various Lebanese regions, the Division Branch obtained intelligence about an unidentified individual promoting drugs in several areas of Beirut. Accordingly, orders were given to the competent units within the branch to carry out field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the suspect. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the branch identified him as: A.S. (born in 1991, Lebanese) On 02-04-2026, following careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested him in the Saifi area aboard a Nissan vehicle, which was seized. Simultaneously, another patrol from the branch arrested one of his clients in the Corniche Mazraa area aboard a “Baic” vehicle, which was also seized. He was identified as: 1.S. (born in 1988, Lebanese) Upon searching both individuals and the two vehicles, a large quantity of drugs (cocaine, cannabis, and narcotic pills) was found in the possession of the first suspect, while a quantity of narcotic substances was found with the second. During interrogation, the first suspect confessed to the charges against him, admitting that he was distributing drugs on behalf of a dealer known as “Al-Khal.” The second stated that he uses drugs and obtains them from the first suspect, in addition to carrying out thefts of medications and cosmetic products from inside a pharmacy in the Corniche Mazraa area. Legal measures were taken against both, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the competent authority upon the direction of the relevant judiciary.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations DivisionThe following statement: As part of the daily efforts carried out by the Internal Security Forces to curb drug trafficking and distribution across various Lebanese regions, the Division Branch obtained intelligence regarding an unidentified individual promoting drugs in Mount Lebanon, particularly in the Metn area. Following intensive investigations and inquiries, the branch identified him as: A.M. (born in 1990, Lebanese), subject to an arrest warrant for drug-related offenses. On 21-03-2026, after careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested him in flagrante delicto in the Bourj Hammoud area while he was distributing drugs aboard a black Mercedes vehicle, which was seized. Upon searching him and the vehicle, the following were found: 46 plastic containers containing cocaine labeled with various markings (TNT – VIP – X – B – AJ) 90 counterfeit US dollars A mobile phone and sums of money in different currencies During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him.Legal procedures were carried out against him, and he, along with the seized items, was referred to the competent authority based on the instructions of the relevant judiciary.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following: A contracting company will carry out maintenance works on rainwater drainage openings (“regards”) in the Zokak El-Blat area – at the intersection of Zokak El-Blat Mosque toward Husseiniyat Al-Zahraa, starting from 6:00 p.m. on 17-04-2026 until 7:00 a.m. on 20-04-2026. These works will lead to the closure of the road in the area, with traffic being diverted to Judge Al-Kasti Street. Citizens are requested to take note and comply with the instructions and guidance of the Internal Security Forces personnel, as well as with directional traffic signs, in order to prevent congestion.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: Following the announcement of the ceasefire, heavy gunfire was reported in several neighborhoods of the southern suburbs, in addition to the إطلاق of rocket-propelled projectiles. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field measures to identify those responsible for the gunfire and to pursue and arrest them, in preparation for taking the necessary legal actions against them based on the instructions of the judiciary. The General Directorate affirms that it will not tolerate any breach of security and public order, and calls on citizens to refrain from firing weapons under any circumstances, due to the danger this phenomenon poses to public safety.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts carried out by the Internal Security Forces to monitor the work of driving schools and to pursue illegal transaction-processing offices, members of the Dekwaneh police station in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit inspected the documents of these offices and their methods of operation in the vicinity of the Vehicle Registration Department (“Nafaa”) – Dekwaneh, to verify their compliance with legal requirements. Several violations were recorded, and legal measures were taken accordingly through judicial reports and based on the direction of the competent judiciary, as follows: 9 transaction-processing offices (illegal and prohibited) were sealed with red wax One driving school operating from a branch other than its licensed location was sealed with red wax One car plate manufacturing office, where an employee was carrying out transaction-processing activities داخل “Nafaa”, was sealed with red wax In addition, violations were identified in 10 insurance offices whose owners were carrying out transaction-processing activities The violators were released under residence undertakings after pledging not to engage again in transaction-processing activities. The Vehicle Registration Department was also provided with a list of the violators’ names in order to take the necessary measures.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 13-4-2026, a dispute occurred in the city of Tyre between: M.T. (born in 1994, Lebanese) A.S. (born in 1972, Lebanese) The dispute escalated when the first individual violently assaulted the second in front of his home and in the presence of his children, leading to his death. The perpetrator then fled to an unknown destination. The crime caused widespread outrage among residents of the aforementioned area. Immediately, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence procedures. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able, on the same date, to locate and arrest the suspect in the city of Tyre. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over to the competent unit for further investigation, based on the direction of the relevant judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: At dawn on 28-02-2026, a child (F.I., born in 2020, Syrian) and his sister (R.I., born in 2017, Syrian) were admitted in critical condition to a hospital in the Hadath area. The girl soon passed away, and three days later, her brother also died. Following an examination by the forensic doctor, it was confirmed that both children had suffered a sudden lack of oxygen, and that the deaths were consistent with suffocation. During the initial investigation, the children’s mother: W.M. (born in 1996, Syrian) stated that she was surprised by the children’s condition when she attempted to wake them for the pre-dawn meal (suhoor), as they did not respond or move. She said she contacted A.Kh. (born in 1996, Syrian), who helped her transport them to the hospital, which he confirmed in his statement. Accordingly, the competent units of the Information Branch initiated the necessary procedures to uncover the circumstances of the deaths, especially following the forensic report, which raised suspicion that the mother had carried out the crime. On 27-03-2026, W.M. was summoned for questioning. As the investigation progressed and she was confronted with evidence proving her involvement, she confessed to killing her two children by suffocating them with a pillow while they were on her bed at her home in the Sahra Choueifat area. She then left them in that condition for an hour before contacting someone for help. She added that she committed the act due to psychological pressures she had been experiencing. The necessary legal measures were taken against her, and she was referred to the competent authority in accordance with the instructions of the judicial authority.

The following statement was issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: On 25-03-2026, unknown individuals broke into the home of (A. Sh., born in 1966, Lebanese) located in the Minyeh area. They stole from a safe an amount of approximately $30,000 USD, gold jewelry worth around $20,000 USD, and military pistols. They then set the house furniture on fire and fled to an unknown destination. Following this, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence procedures to identify and arrest those involved in the theft. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able within hours to identify them, including: M. Sh. (born in 1984, Lebanese) On 26-03-2026, after careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested him in the Minyeh area. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges, admitting that he, along with three others, carried out the theft. He stated that his accomplices kept the stolen items and hid the pistols with (H. F., born in 1996, Syrian). He also added that he was hiding more than 40 kg of cannabis in an abandoned house above his place of residence, where it was subsequently seized. On the same date, the latter was arrested in the Minyeh area, and during interrogation, he also confessed to the charges against him. Legal measures were taken against both, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the competent authority based on judicial instruction. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
