Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat all forms of crime throughout Lebanon, particularly offenses related to human trafficking and the protection of public morals, and to arrest those involved, the Anti-Human Trafficking and Morals Protection Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit continued its operations to combat the phenomenon of foreign women soliciting on public roads for the purpose of prostitution, especially in the Dora area. As a result, one of the Bureau’s patrols arrested four women caught in the act in the aforementioned area: two Sierra Leonean nationals, one Kenyan national, and one Lebanese national. The patrol also arrested a transgender Syrian national, as well as: A. J. (born in 1978, Lebanese) on charges of extorting protection money from the women in exchange for allowing them to remain on the street and providing them with protection. A search of A. J. led to the seizure of a knife and a glass pipe. During interrogation, the women admitted to soliciting clients for the purpose of prostitution. The two Sierra Leonean women stated that A. J. imposed protection payments on them in exchange for allowing them to remain on the street. The necessary legal measures were taken against all those involved, based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat theft operations across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information regarding an unidentified individual carrying out burglaries targeting residences in Mount Lebanon. A video was also circulated on social media showing the suspect committing a burglary inside a residence in Bourj Hammoud before fleeing aboard a blue van of unknown additional specifications. Consequently, the specialized units of the Information Branch launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the suspect. Following investigations and inquiries, they succeeded in identifying him as: R. J. (born in 1996, Lebanese) On 22-05-2026, following a meticulous surveillance and monitoring operation, a patrol from the Branch arrested him in the Nabaa area while driving a blue Mitsubishi van used in the theft operations. The vehicle was seized. A search of the suspect and the van led to the seizure of a quantity of hashish, remnants of marijuana, a booklet of rolling papers, and two mobile phones. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges brought against him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items and the van, to the competent authority upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat all types of crime, particularly environmental crimes, and to apprehend those responsible, the Bekaa Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information regarding pollution in the Litani River, whose waters had turned white. The unit immediately launched investigations and inquiries to identify the source of the pollution. As a result of the follow-up investigation, it was determined that the pollution originated from the operations of a stone-cutting facility located in Taanayel and owned by: A. Y. (born in 1974, Lebanese) When questioned, he admitted that the polluted water originated from the activities of his stone-cutting plant. A detailed inspection revealed that wastewater generated by the stone-cutting process was being diverted through a channel extending from the facility to a nearby pit. A pump was then used to discharge this water into the river approximately 70 meters away. These practices were found to be polluting the river and causing environmental damage due to the resulting chemical contamination of the water, increased sedimentation levels, and reduced oxygen content in the river. Operations at the facility were suspended, and it was closed pursuant to a decision issued by the Ministry of Industry until its legal status is regularized and its liquid waste is properly treated. A. Y. was referred to the competent authority for further investigation and the necessary legal measures were taken against him, based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: In recent weeks, several burglary incidents involving forced entry were reported in areas within the Mount Lebanon Governorate. The perpetrator, whose identity was initially unknown, would break into commercial establishments after midnight and steal whatever valuables he could find. The most recent incident occurred on 26-05-2026, when he entered a pharmacy in the Halat area and stole property worth approximately USD 3,000. As a result, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the suspect. Following investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying him as: M. H. (born in 1995, Lebanese), with a prior criminal record for theft-related offenses. On 26-05-2026, after careful surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the Information Branch arrested him in Bouar. In his possession, officers found and seized a military pistol, two screwdrivers, a coat, and gloves. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him, admitting that he had carried out more than ten nighttime burglaries by means of breaking and entering into commercial establishments in several areas, including Halat, Nahr Ibrahim, Ghazir, Kaslik, Zouk Mosbeh, and Adma, using the seized firearm and tools. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, along with the seized items, to the competent judicial authority. Therefore, and based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces is circulating his photograph and requests that anyone who has fallen victim to his criminal activities report to the Mount Lebanon Information Branch or contact 01-732513 in preparation for the necessary legal proceedings.

On the occasion of the 165th Anniversary of the Internal Security Forces, His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmad Al Hajjar, visited the General Headquarters Barracks, where he was received by Major General Raed Abdallah. The Minister then proceeded to the Director General’s office, where, in the presence of Major General Abdallah, he met with the Unit Commanders and extended his congratulations on the occasion. He paid tribute to the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, describing it as a long-standing national institution that has served, both during the most difficult crises and periods of stability, as a pillar of security and a fundamental cornerstone of the State. He noted that the officers and personnel of the Internal Security Forces have continued to carry out their mission with dedication and professionalism despite numerous challenges and risks, through maintaining security and public order, responding to crises, serving citizens, and fulfilling their national duty. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: On 08-06-2026, in Achrafieh, near Spinneys Mar Mitr, an elderly woman, known by local residents as “Salwa Al Chaghouri” but whose full identity remains unknown, lost consciousness while inside a shop in the area. She was subsequently transferred to the Emergency Department of Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Achrafieh, where she remains hospitalized. She is approximately 80 years old, tall, heavily built, with short white hair and brown eyes. Therefore, and based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces requests anyone who may have information about her identity or relatives to contact the Achrafieh Police Station of the Beirut Police Unit at 01-328094, in order to take the necessary legal measures.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat theft and embezzlement crimes across various Lebanese regions and arrest those responsible, on 14-05-2026, the Information Branch received information that H. Sh. (born in 1983, Lebanese) had stolen USD 429,000 belonging to Banque de Financement – Hamra Branch while transporting the funds from Banque du Liban to the bank. Consequently, the specialized units of the Information Branch launched field and intelligence operations to locate the suspect, arrest him, and recover the embezzled funds. Through technical surveillance and within a short period of time, it was established that the suspect had headed to Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport accompanied by another individual who was assisting him in fleeing to an African country. The accomplice was identified as: A. A. (born in 1986, Lebanese) On the same date, as a result of immediate follow-up and coordination with the security agencies at the airport, both suspects were arrested inside the airport. An amount of USD 7,870 was found in their possession. A search of the second suspect’s residence led to the seizure of USD 420,000. During interrogation, H. Sh. admitted that he had been employed as a courier for the bank since 2011 and had premeditated the theft after learning the schedule of regular cash transfers from Banque du Liban. He stated that he had conspired with the second suspect, who was supposed to help him flee to an African country and share the stolen money. He further confessed that on 14-05-2026 he lured the employee responsible for transporting the funds and stole the bag containing the money. He then fled to the Airport Road area, where he met the second suspect, and together they headed to the airport in preparation for leaving Lebanon. However, they were arrested before they could depart. A. A. also admitted to the charges brought against him. The entire stolen amount was recovered and handed over to the management of Banque de Financement. The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, and they were referred to the competent judicial authority upon the instructions of the competent judiciary.

At 7:00 a.m. on 07-06-2026, the Lebanese Cycling Federation will organize the “Tannous El Mir Memorial Federation Cup” cycling race in the Marina–Dbayeh area, between Golden Beach Resort and Major General Martyr Wissam Al Hassan Barracks – Dbayeh, along the coastal road, over several laps. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: Further to our previous communiqué dated 07-05-2026 regarding road paving works in the Salim Salam area and its surroundings, the contracting company will apply a second asphalt layer in the Salim Salam area, from Al Sultan Sweets to Al Makhazen stores, starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, 06-06-2026, until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, 07-06-2026. Accordingly, the following traffic measures will be implemented: Traffic coming from Corniche El Mazraa toward Bashir Joumblatt Street will be prohibited and diverted from beneath the bridge toward the first detour. Traffic coming from the Mills Ramp toward Salim Salam will be prohibited and diverted toward the Barbir intersection – Badran Station. Traffic heading from the Sports City area toward Downtown Beirut will be diverted into the Salim Salam Tunnel. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: The rehabilitation and maintenance works of the asphalt pavement, as well as road marking operations, will continue on both carriageways of the road extending from Coca-Cola to Airport Bridge (Old Airport Road), from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on June 5, 6, and 7, 2026. These works will result in a narrowing of the roadway at the work sites, and traffic will be restricted to a single lane. Citizens are requested to take note of this notice and to comply with the instructions and directions of Internal Security Forces personnel, as well as with traffic signs and guidance boards, in order to preserve public safety and prevent traffic congestion.
