Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Extensive investigations led to his identification as: A. M. (born in 2004, Syrian national). On 10 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in a carefully planned ambush in the Bourj el-Barajneh area. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority. Warning: In this context, the Internal Security Forces remind parents of the importance of educating their children about the risks of communicating with strangers or untrustworthy individuals on social media, and of not sharing personal photos or information with them. The Internal Security Forces also urge anyone subjected to threats or blackmail not to give in to the blackmailer or comply with their demands, to preserve all evidence, and to immediately report the incident to the competent authorities. Early reporting helps protect victims and enables authorities to pursue those responsible.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down wanted individuals and combat drug dealing across Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information about an individual dealing drugs in Jounieh from a black Kia Rio. Following this information, a patrol from the Detachment proceeded to the area. After close surveillance and monitoring, officers arrested the suspect while he was inside the aforementioned vehicle. He was identified as: H. R. (born in 1994, Lebanese national). A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of: 3 packets of marijuana, including one large packet; 9 packets of hashish; 15 packets, each containing a white narcotic substance; 8 medium-sized sealed plastic containers containing a white narcotic substance; 6 medium-sized unsealed plastic containers containing a white narcotic substance; 4 small sealed plastic containers containing a white narcotic substance; One small unsealed plastic container containing a white narcotic substance; A sum of money and a mobile phone. The detainee, the seized items and narcotics, and the vehicle were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat theft and fraud across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained information about an unidentified individual selling fake gold jewelry in various areas of Mount Lebanon, particularly in the Metn region. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units intensified their field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the suspect. Investigations led to his identification as: M. Kh. (born in 2003, Syrian national). On 10 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol caught him red-handed in Nahr el-Mot while he was selling a quantity of fake gold jewelry to an individual for US$10,000. The suspect was accompanied by another individual, who fled with the money to an unknown location. Officers also seized 108 fake gold bracelets. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the allegations against him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the second individual involved.

The following traffic measures will be implemented: Traffic coming from Maameltein toward the KFC roundabout will be diverted uphill toward the Stadium Bridge – highway. Traffic heading downhill toward the souk will be diverted uphill toward Abou Ter. Traffic heading toward Chir – Malak Al Tawouk will be diverted toward the Zouk power plant. Traffic heading toward Notre Dame du Liban Hospital will be diverted uphill toward Sarba – highway. Traffic at the roundabout at the entrance to the Jounieh Serail will be diverted toward the Civil Defense – Sarba Bridge – highway. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 27 July 2026, a Syrian national reported that two unidentified individuals had entered his home in the Saadiyat area and stolen a safe containing approximately US$8,000. The competent Internal Security Forces units immediately launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the two individuals involved in the theft. Following investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying them as: A. M. (born in 2003, Syrian national); W. R. (born in 2003, Syrian national). On 13 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, Branch patrols arrested the two suspects simultaneously in the Ouzai and Tayouneh areas. A search of the suspects resulted in the seizure of a sum of money, two mobile phones, a utility knife, a silver-colored chain, and a bracelet. During questioning, the first suspect admitted to carrying out the theft at the second suspect’s request, while the latter also admitted to the allegations against him. The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, and they were referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A contracting company will carry out road rehabilitation and paving works along the road extending from the Al-Marامل downhill section, at the Al-Mahdi Schools intersection, toward Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. The first phase of the project will involve milling the existing asphalt layer on Saturday and Sunday, 29 and 30 August 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The works will begin at the Al-Mahdi Schools Bridge and proceed toward the intersection leading to Al-Ahed Stadium. The road will remain open to traffic, as work will be carried out on one lane only. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: 1- As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary, and following field and intelligence operations, the Information Branch succeeded in locating an individual wanted for drug-related offences in the Saadiyat area. He was identified as: N. M. (born in 1993, Palestinian national), who is wanted under four arrest warrants for drug-related offences. On 8 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the aforementioned area in a carefully planned ambush, while he was riding a green motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a quantity of hashish. 2- In a separate operation, following close surveillance and monitoring, the Branch succeeded in locating another wanted individual in Hadath – Baabda. He was identified as: A. A. Z. (born in 2004, Lebanese national), who has a criminal record for theft and shooting offences and is wanted under five judicial warrants for murder, drug-related offences, and assaulting military personnel. On 13 August 2026, a Branch patrol arrested him in the same area while he was riding a black motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a handgun with three magazines and 44 live rounds of ammunition. The necessary legal measures were taken against both detainees, and they were handed over to the competent units pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Information Branch obtained information about unidentified individuals who, using a black Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, broke into the warehouses of a company in Deichounieh and stole large quantities of alcoholic beverages, meat, and food products, with an estimated value of approximately US$100,000. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend those involved. Investigations revealed that the theft had been carried out in several stages on different dates. The Branch also succeeded in identifying the perpetrators, including the alleged mastermind, who had worked as a security guard at the company for ten years and owned the vehicle used in the theft. He was identified as: Kh. H. (born in 1998, Syrian national). On 11 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the Tabarja area while he was aboard the same vehicle, which was seized. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him and confessed to carrying out the theft in three stages, in collaboration with other individuals. He also stated that he had worked as a security guard at the company for more than ten years and was familiar with its layout, entrances, and exits. He further admitted to selling the stolen goods to a Syrian national involved in smuggling goods into Syrian territory. The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainee, who was referred, together with the seized vehicle, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 18 August 2026, officers from the Basta Police Station of the Beirut Police Unit arrested the following married couple: M. Gh. (born in 1980, Lebanese national); L. H. (born in 1990, Lebanese national). They were arrested in the Basta – Ouzai Street area after the owner of a jewelry store caught them stealing jewelry using a sophisticated sleight-of-hand technique. The theft was captured on surveillance cameras. A search of the couple resulted in the seizure of 13 gold items without receipts. The jewelry store owner identified five of the items as belonging to him, while the source of the remaining items is still being investigated. Accordingly, and pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces is circulating their photographs and asks anyone who has fallen victim to their activities and recognizes them to report to the Basta Police Station of the Beirut Police Unit or call 01-633808, so that the necessary legal procedures can be taken.
