The following communiqué was issued:
On 23-02-2026, citizen (K. B., born in 1976, Lebanese) reported that a group of unknown armed individuals entered his residence located in the Hamra area / Beirut, after threatening the building concierge with military weapons and restraining the domestic worker. They managed to steal an iron safe containing five luxury wristwatches estimated to be worth approximately USD /200,000/, before fleeing to an unknown destination.
Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence measures to identify and arrest those involved. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify a number of those involved, including:
H. Z. D. (born in 1998, Lebanese)
M. K. (born in 1976, Lebanese)
A. A. H. (born in 1975, Lebanese)
A. Y. (born in 2000, Palestinian)
On 14 and 16-05-2026, following precise surveillance and monitoring operations, patrols from the Branch were able to arrest them in the areas of Bir Hassan, Tahwitat Al-Ghadir, and Jnah.
During the investigation, they confessed to the charges attributed to them regarding their participation, along with others, in planning and carrying out the theft. They also stated that, after carrying out the operation, they went to the residence of the detainee (A. A. H.), where they examined the stolen watches. They then contacted his son, who resides in the United States of America and owns a jewelry and watch shop, and smuggled the watches to him.
The detainee (M. K.) also confessed to keeping one of the stolen watches and selling it in the Barbir market for USD /2,300/.
The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainees, and they were handed over to the competent authority upon the instruction of the competent judiciary. Efforts are still ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts of the Internal Security Forces to combat all types of crime across Lebanon, particularly drug-related offenses, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information indicating that an individual was distributing narcotics to dealers from within a warehouse he was operating in the Haret Hreik area. Following surveillance and monitoring, and in a targeted operation, a patrol from the above-mentioned unit apprehended him at 10:30 p.m. on 3 August 2026 in the same area while he was riding a motorcycle without license plates or a chassis number. He was identified as: H. A. (born in 2004, Syrian national) A raid on his place of residence, carried out in coordination with the judiciary, led to the seizure of a large quantity of various narcotics, divided and prepared for distribution, as follows: 50 ketamine containers 171 sealed packets containing crystal meth 49 sealed transparent bags containing marijuana Five large packets sealed inside a transparent bag containing crystal stone 22 small packets containing baz One packet containing a white substance 13 packets containing cocaine Ten transparent bags containing Captagon pills Eight bags containing colored narcotic pills Five small transparent bags containing cannabis resin (hashish) Five large transparent bags containing marijuana herb Transparent nylon bags Three pieces of cannabis resin, unpackaged, and one small piece of the same substance The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces' ongoing efforts to locate and arrest persons wanted by the judiciary, the Information Branch obtained intelligence regarding the presence of one of the most dangerous wanted fugitives in the town of Ain El Dahab – Akkar. The suspect had been in hiding and was known to exercise extreme caution in his movements. He was identified as: K. S. (born in 2001, Lebanese). He has a criminal record involving safe thefts and residential burglaries by forced entry. Accordingly, the specialized units of the Information Branch were tasked with apprehending him. On 7 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch's patrols arrested him in a carefully planned ambush in the above-mentioned town. A records check revealed that he was wanted under 20 arrest warrants, including: 12 arrest warrants for theft. 5 arrest warrants for forming a criminal gang and committing theft. 2 arrest warrants for arms trafficking. 1 arrest warrant for breaking and entering and theft. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces' ongoing efforts to pursue and arrest those involved in drug-related crimes, and within the security plan implemented by the Judicial Police Unit to combat drug trafficking and curb its spread, the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau received information on 17 July 2026 regarding preparations to smuggle narcotics to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a shipping company. Following surveillance and monitoring of the shipment, officers arrested the individual delivering the parcel while he was handing it over to the shipping company. He was identified as: H. N. (born in 1977, Lebanese). A search of the parcel led to the seizure of approximately 5,000 Captagon tablets, professionally concealed inside a flower vase box. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect. Investigations are ongoing, under the supervision of the competent judicial authority, to identify and arrest the remaining individuals involved.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: First – Corniche Al Nahr: From 10 August 2026 until Friday, 14 August 2026, a contracting company will carry out asphalt tack-coat spraying on the section extending from under the Peugeot Bridge to the Dakhliyeh intersection, daily from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following day. The road will be closed to traffic throughout the works. Traffic will be diverted left from beneath the bridge, then right after the Mallah station toward Badawi, continuing to Badawi – Nahr Entrance (Dakhliyeh) – Karantina. Traffic heading uphill will be diverted either toward Charles Malek Avenue or left toward Our Lady Church – Sassine. Second – Bhamdoun: On 10 August 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m., a contracting company will spray the international highway extending from the Dahr El Baidar Police Station to the Bhamdoun Tunnel in both directions in preparation for resurfacing works. Traffic will remain open throughout these works. Citizens are kindly requested to comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the directional traffic signs in the affected areas to facilitate traffic flow.
