The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by specialized Internal Security Forces units to combat crime, track down those involved, and apprehend them, and following investigations conducted by the North Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit, its officers carried out two arrests on 3 September 2026, as follows: First: A North Investigation Detachment patrol arrested: M. A. Kh. (born in 2005, Syrian national), red-handed in the Qobbeh area while he was circulating counterfeit currency at a gas station. Officers seized US$900 in counterfeit currency and 5,000,000 counterfeit Syrian pounds from the new issue from his possession. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him. Second: Later that same day, following surveillance and monitoring, a North Investigation Detachment patrol arrested the following individual in Deir Ammar: A. A. T. (born in 1979, Lebanese national). It was established that he was wanted in connection with six judicial proceedings: three arrest warrants for attempted murder and theft, a search and investigation notice for a shooting offence, and two apprehension warrants for attempted murder and breaking and entering. The two detainees and the seized items were handed over to the competent units for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by specialized Internal Security Forces units to combat drug trafficking and distribution across Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information about an apartment in Sin el-Fil being used to store narcotics before their distribution to drug dealers. Following intensive investigative efforts, the Detachment established that the storage location had been moved from Sin el-Fil to Achrafieh, where a drug trafficking network was using an apartment to store narcotics. The following individuals were arrested: M. A. (born in 1999, Lebanese national); A. Sh. (born in 2002, Lebanese national). An investigation conducted by Baabda Police Station revealed that the first suspect was responsible for receiving narcotics before distributing them to other dealers in various areas of Lebanon. It was also established that he was wanted under an arrest warrant for a drug-related offence. The investigation further uncovered additional apartments used to store narcotics in Corniche el-Mazraa, Bchamoun, Hazmieh, and Jernaya in Jezzine District, and identified several individuals involved in the network’s drug distribution, manufacturing, and storage activities. In coordination with the competent judicial authority, Investigation Detachment officers raided the identified locations at various times and dates. They seized large quantities of various narcotics, including ketamine, hashish, marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and other drugs. Officers also seized precision scales, equipment used to extract oils, seal nylon packaging, and manufacture ketamine, as well as large quantities of materials used for packaging and distributing narcotics. Investigations also revealed that the network was smuggling ketamine through Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport by concealing it inside premium liquor bottles that were professionally resealed and packed in luggage. A number of hunting rifles, ammunition, and projectiles were also seized, along with a large and varied quantity of gold jewelry, watches, cash in several currencies, computers, mobile phones, and documents. The following members of the network were also arrested: A. A. (born in 1992, Lebanese national); S. A. (born in 2011, Lebanese national); S. A. (born in 1967, Lebanese national); J. F. (born in 1970, Lebanese national); H. T. (born in 1993, Lebanese national); I. H. (born in 1991, Lebanese national); D. S. (born in 2005, Lebanese national); A. H. (born in 1963, Lebanese national); M. T. (born in 1963, Palestinian national). The investigation further established that this was an international network run from outside Lebanon by its founder and alleged mastermind, an individual who presents himself as a Belgian national and claims to own an international event-management company with an Instagram account. He travels across several European countries and uses the Signal app to communicate with members of his network. He was identified as: M. T. (born in 1996, Palestinian national), nicknamed “Robin.” According to the investigation, he organizes and hosts music events in various areas of Lebanon, where ketamine is allegedly manufactured and distributed, along with ecstasy, cocaine, and other narcotics, to people attending these events. Investigations also found that members of the network are educated, speak multiple languages, work in various fields, and regularly practice yoga, giving them calm and unsuspecting profiles. As a result of the investigation, H. T. was caught red-handed manufacturing drugs inside an apartment in Bchamoun, where he was arrested. The detainees and all seized items and narcotics were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Beirut Police Investigation Detachment received information about a group of suspicious individuals in the Qasqas area who were in possession of a quantity of drugs. Following close surveillance and monitoring, a Detachment patrol carried out a carefully planned ambush, resulting in their arrest red-handed in Qasqas. They were identified as: A. A. (born in 2003, Syrian national); M. Sh. (born in 2006, Syrian national); A. T. (born in 2009, Syrian national); H. M. (born in 2008, Palestinian national); M. Z. (born in 2005, Syrian national). Two motorcycles without license plates, a quantity of hashish, and cigarette-rolling materials were seized from their possession. The detainees and the seized items were handed over to Tariq el-Cham Police Station, where they admitted to forming a gang involved in stealing and robbing motorcycles. Among their key admissions, they confessed to breaking the lock and stealing an Aprilia motorcycle in Dbayeh, as well as forcibly taking a black “Sweet” motorcycle from its rider in the BIEL – Beirut area and later selling it inside the Shatila refugee camp for US$100. They also admitted to using drugs. The detainees were referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to its instructions.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat crime, particularly drug-related offences, on 24 August 2026, a patrol operating under the Jounieh Company Command of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit set up a temporary checkpoint on the coastal road in the Nahr Ibrahim area. At the checkpoint, the patrol arrested three individuals, including a minor, who were traveling in a black Nissan Sunny: Kh. Sh. (born in 2006, Lebanese national); S. S. (born in 2005, Lebanese national); A minor girl, born in 2010, Lebanese national. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of narcotics, including: 10 vials containing ketamine; 79 plastic containers containing cocaine; 5 white cubes wrapped in tissues; 95 Captagon pills; 26 colored pills; 48 Tramadol pills; 31 vacuum-sealed bags, each containing hashish; 12 bags, each containing marijuana; 10 bags containing hashish; 3 “Vape Packwoods” electronic smoking devices; 3 booklets of rolling papers; 4 mobile phones. The vehicle was placed under judicial seizure. The three detainees, along with the seized drugs and other items, were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat theft, track down those involved, and apprehend them across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained information about an individual involved in breaking into companies and stealing safes in several areas of Mount Lebanon. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations. Investigations led to his arrest in the Beddawi area. He was identified as: S. F. (born in 1972, Lebanese national). During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him and confessed to carrying out three break-ins involving the theft of safes from companies in Mount Lebanon, specifically in Jounieh, Ballouneh, and Zouk Mikael. The stolen property was found to include sums of money and a Kalashnikov-type rifle. The detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

As part of the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces and associations and institutions working in the health and social sectors, and as a continuation of the periodic prison visitation program, the “Nidal for Humanity” Association, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, the doctors’ and nurses’ sectors of the Alumni Association, and the Al-Farah Social Foundation, visited Roumieh Prison on 3 September 2026 to monitor inmates’ health conditions and provide medical examinations. The visit forms part of a regular monthly program. It is not limited to examining inmates in need of medical care, but also includes follow-up with prisoners who were examined during previous visits, ensuring that they are adhering to prescribed treatments and assessing the progress of their health conditions. The visit also included an inspection of the prison pharmacy to review the quantities and types of medicines available. Doctors also conducted clinical examinations of inmates to directly assess their health conditions and follow up on cases requiring medical care or treatment, thereby contributing to improved healthcare within the prison. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to support the Central Prisons Company Command and the medical center at Roumieh Prison, strengthen healthcare services in Lebanese prisons, and enhance cooperation among the relevant stakeholders

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals involved in drug smuggling, and within the framework of the security plan established by the Judicial Police Unit to combat this scourge and curb its spread across Lebanon, the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau received information about a network based in a Latin American country, involving Lebanese nationals and engaged in smuggling drugs into Lebanon through travelers, using sophisticated methods to conceal the narcotics inside their luggage. Following this information, the Bureau began analyzing the available intelligence and gathering further information. It succeeded in uncovering preparations for an operation to smuggle a quantity of drugs from Brazil into Lebanon through Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, using a traveler identified as: A. T. (born in 1986, Lebanese national). On 25 August 2026, following coordination with the Lebanese General Security at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, the suspect was arrested upon entering Lebanese territory. After the suspect was handed over and his luggage searched, officers seized 4.9 kg of cocaine that had been mixed with adhesive substances and professionally concealed in the false bottoms of two suitcases belonging to him. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him and stated that the plan was to later separate the cocaine from the substances with which it had been mixed. The operation uncovered a sophisticated method of disguising and concealing narcotics used by drug trafficking and smuggling networks in an attempt to evade detection and seizure. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect under the supervision of the competent judicial authority. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: On the occasion of the 165th Anniversary of the Internal Security Forces, and within the framework of cooperation and coordination between the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces and educational institutions in Lebanon, 57 students from Mishmish Mixed Public School visited the Mishmish Police Station of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit on 03-06-2026, accompanied by the school principal, Mr. Youssef Berri, and a group of teachers. Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by the station personnel. The station commander, Major Ahmad Al Adraa, provided them with a detailed presentation on the duties of the Internal Security Forces and their role in serving citizens across various fields. In this context, discussions focused on the importance of cooperation between the Internal Security Forces and citizens, as well as ways to promote civic responsibility among students. The station commander also explained how violations are addressed, how judicial investigations are conducted under the authority and supervision of the judiciary, and how judicial directives are implemented. Several students then addressed questions to Major Al Adraa regarding the duties and responsibilities of the Internal Security Forces, and he provided them with comprehensive answers. Afterward, Mr. Berri delivered a speech in which he praised the efforts of the Internal Security Forces in serving citizens, highlighting their important role in serving society and the sacrifices they make. At the conclusion of the visit, the students toured the various sections of the police station. Sweets, informational brochures, and Internal Security Forces flags were distributed to the students, and commemorative photographs were taken to mark the occasion.

The Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdallah, received this morning in his office at the General Headquarters Barracks a delegation from the Lebanese French University (ULF), comprising the University President and former Minister Dr. Michel Najjar, Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs Dr. Hani Haidoura, and retired Brigadier General Fawzi Hammadi. During the meeting, Major General Abdallah and Dr. Najjar signed a Memorandum of Understanding on academic cooperation between the two parties. The University President expressed the institution’s willingness to provide special scholarships to serving members of the Internal Security Forces, as well as to their families and the families of retired personnel. The signing ceremony was attended by the Head of the Staff Authority Unit, Brigadier General Dr. Alfred Hanna; the Commander of the Internal Security Forces Institute, Brigadier General Ahmad Abla; the Head of the Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Joseph Msallam; the Head of the Planning and Organization Division, Brigadier General Maroun El Khoury; the Head of the Administrative Affairs Division, Brigadier General Fadi El Hajj; and the Head of the Training Division, Brigadier General Troudi Al Qadi. Training session on gender sensitivity at the Women’s Prison in Tripoli, in cooperation between the Internal Security Forces and Dar Al-Amal Association.
As part of the cooperation and coordination between the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces and civil society organizations, Dar Al-Amal Association organized a training session on “Gender Sensitivity” at the Women’s Prison in Tripoli on 20 May 2026. The session was attended by the Association’s social worker, Ms. Mona Issa, along with several association members and female prison guards. The training began with a welcome session and an explanation of its objectives, emphasizing the importance of gender-sensitive practices within the prison environment, particularly in relation to the treatment of female inmates and their specific needs. The session aimed to explain the concept of gender sensitivity, defined as an approach based on understanding the different needs and circumstances of women and men and taking them into account in daily practices to ensure fairness and non-discrimination. It also sought to raise awareness about the importance of addressing the specific needs of female inmates. Through interactive activities, the training highlighted key challenges faced by female prison officers, including issues related to motherhood, pregnancy, and difficult social circumstances that some inmates may have experienced before incarceration. The session also addressed the distinction between equity and equality, with participants emphasizing the importance of treating each inmate according to her individual circumstances and needs, while improving communication through active listening, support, and the reporting of complaints to the appropriate authorities. A dedicated segment focused on self-care and reflection, in recognition of the psychological and physical pressures faced by prison personnel in the course of their duties. At the conclusion of the training, participants expressed their satisfaction with the session, noting that it had enhanced their knowledge and provided them with new concepts and skills.
