The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals involved in drug trafficking, and within the framework of the security plan established by the Judicial Police Unit to combat the scourge of drugs and curb their spread, the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau received information indicating that: K. A. (born in 1974, Lebanese national) had been bringing quantities of drugs into Kfardebian on multiple occasions and was also in possession of a quantity of firearms. Following investigative efforts, a Bureau patrol raided his residence in the same town on 21 August 2026, arresting him and his two accomplices: H. J. (born in 1996, Syrian national); A. R. (born in 2005, Syrian national). A search of the suspects and the apartment resulted in the seizure of: A 7.62 mm RPD Degtyaryov machine gun, a Kalashnikov rifle, and a 6 mm Ruger rifle; A 7.62 mm Dragunov sniper rifle; Two handguns and a quantity of ammunition; A glass container holding 44 g of marijuana; A transparent plastic container holding 13.6 g of cocaine; A 5.7 g piece of cocaine base (“Baz”); A precision scale, a metal grinder containing marijuana, and tools used to prepare cocaine base. The necessary legal measures were taken against the three detainees, who were referred, together with the seized weapons, narcotics, and other items, to the competent judicial authority pursuant to its instructions.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary, and following field and intelligence operations, a specialized unit of the Information Branch succeeded in locating and arresting a wanted individual in the Doha Aramoun area. He was identified as: Y. D. (born in 1983, Lebanese national), who is wanted under four judicial warrants for theft and fraud. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him. The detainee was handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: Pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces is circulating a photograph of an unidentified suspect believed to have stolen a motorcycle from Kefraya – Western Bekaa on 7 September 2026. Accordingly, the Directorate General asks anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts to contact the Zahle Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit at either 08-806523 or 08-807063, so that the necessary legal procedures can be taken. The identity of anyone providing information about the suspect will remain confidential in accordance with the law.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals involved in various crimes throughout Lebanon, information was received regarding an incident that occurred on 23 August 2026 in the Bir Hassan area. An altercation involving several individuals escalated into an exchange of gunfire between two groups, during which A. F. sustained a gunshot wound to the mouth. Those involved subsequently fled to an unknown location. Specialized units of the Information Branch immediately launched field and intelligence operations to locate and apprehend the shooters. Investigations led to the identification of the whereabouts of one of them in the Airport Road area. He was identified as: A. M. (born in 2008, Palestinian national). On 25 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the aforementioned area. A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a handgun. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him. The detainee and the seized weapon were handed over to the competent authority for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend all other individuals involved.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of efforts to combat illegal hunting, protect nature and migratory birds passing over Lebanon, and preserve ecological balance, a patrol from the Denniyeh Police Station of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit arrested three individuals who were hunting in the Daraya area. They were identified as: J. M. (born in 1977, Lebanese national); M. J. H. (born in 1966, Lebanese national); W. A. (born in 1975, Lebanese national). A search resulted in the seizure of a hunting rifle, nets, birdlime sticks, and cages containing goldfinches. Judicial reports were filed against them, and they were released on residence undertakings after pledging not to repeat the offence. The birds were also released, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces renews its call on citizens to help combat illegal hunting and violations against migratory birds by reporting offenders whenever such violations are witnessed. Violations may be documented through photos or videos and submitted via the “Balligh” reporting service for follow-up, or reported by calling the Operations Room at 112.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: In order to protect citizens’ lives and enhance road safety, and pursuant to a decision by the Minister of Interior, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces continued its measures to enforce traffic regulations across Lebanon. From 7 to 13 September 2026, a total of 14,482 traffic violations of various types were recorded, including speeding, driving without license plates, failure to wear a seat belt, using a mobile phone while driving, and other violations. In addition, 468 vehicles in violation of traffic regulations and 921 illegal motorcycles were impounded.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to pursue individuals involved in drug smuggling and distribution, and within the framework of the security plan established by the Judicial Police Unit to combat the scourge of drugs and curb their spread, international cooperation between Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates in the field of counter-narcotics led the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau to receive information from the Federal General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics concerning the arrest of an Asian national in Dubai in possession of 311 grams of cocaine. During questioning, the individual admitted that he was dealing drugs in Dubai on behalf of: J. H. (born in 1996, Lebanese national). Based on this information and subsequent investigations conducted by the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau, it was established that J. H. was in Lebanon and was also involved in drug dealing there. Officers also identified one of his associates: A. Kh. (born in 1991, Lebanese national). Surveillance and monitoring operations led officers to locate both suspects in the Adma area. On 12 August 2026, they were arrested in a swift security operation, and officers seized 14 grams of cocaine and a precision scale from their possession. During questioning, both suspects admitted to involvement in drug dealing in the United Arab Emirates, using Asian nationals sent from Lebanon. They also admitted to dealing drugs inside Lebanon. The investigation further revealed that J. H. was involved in selling stolen vehicles in the United Arab Emirates as part of a network and in collaboration with: W. M. (born in 1990, Lebanese national), who was also arrested. It was also established that: B. H. (born in 1986, Lebanese national) had been transferring money from the UAE to Lebanon for the benefit of an individual within the network. He was also arrested. The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainees, who were referred, together with the seized items and narcotics, to the competent judicial authority. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend all other individuals involved.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat drug dealing and track down those involved, the Information Branch received information about unidentified individuals dealing drugs in several areas of Mount Lebanon, particularly in Metn. Following field and intelligence operations and close surveillance, the suspects were caught red-handed while dealing drugs from motorcycles, which were seized, as follows: The first suspect in Nahr el-Mot; The second and third suspects in Fanar; The fourth suspect in Jdeideh. A search of the first suspect and his motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: 5 containers labeled “100% BABLE,” containing a white substance believed to be cocaine; 15 containers labeled “NET 100%,” containing a substance believed to be cocaine; 11 containers containing a substance believed to be “Baz”; A handgun with a magazine and a sum of money. Searches of the second and third suspects’ homes resulted in the seizure of: 24 bags of hashish, weighing approximately 416.44 g; One bag of marijuana weighing approximately 25 g; 40 containers of cocaine; 27 bags, each containing a white paper holding “Baz”; A plastic container holding a white substance used in drug manufacturing, weighing approximately 51.51 g; 1,187 Captagon pills, a precision scale, and an accounts ledger; A large quantity of empty nylon bags and plastic containers used for packaging drugs. The fourth suspect was found in possession of: 5 containers of cocaine; Two packets containing hashish; Two booklets of rolling papers. During questioning, the suspects admitted to the allegations against them. They were detained and referred, together with the seized drugs and other items, to the competent authority for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A contracting company will carry out asphalt milling works in the Corniche el-Mazraa (Saeb Salam Boulevard) area, in preparation for subsequent road paving. The works will be carried out in several phases, as follows: Phase One On 14 and 15 September 2026, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning, works will take place from the Abdel Nasser Mosque intersection to the Corniche el-Mazraa – Saeb Salam Boulevard intersection toward Salim Salam, beneath the Cola Bridge. Traffic on the affected carriageway will be closed and diverted to the opposite carriageway, which will operate as a two-way road between Helou Barracks and Barbir. Phase Two On 16 and 17 September 2026, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning, works will take place from the Corniche el-Mazraa – Saeb Salam Boulevard intersection toward Salim Salam, beneath the bridge, to the Abdel Nasser Mosque intersection. Traffic will be closed on the affected carriageway and diverted to the opposite carriageway, which will operate in both directions between Barbir and Helou Barracks. On 18 September 2026, both carriageways will be cleaned and prepared for paving, without closing the road to traffic. On 19 September 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., paving works will be carried out from the Corniche el-Mazraa – Saeb Salam Boulevard intersection toward Salim Salam to the Abdel Nasser Mosque intersection. On 20 September 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., paving works will be carried out from the Abdel Nasser Mosque intersection to the Corniche el-Mazraa – Saeb Salam Boulevard intersection toward Salim Salam, beneath the bridge. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals in violation of the law throughout Lebanon, and following a recent increase in break-ins and burglaries targeting shops and commercial establishments by unidentified masked individuals in several areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, specialized units of the Information Branch intensified their field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the members of the gang responsible. A video showing members of the gang carrying out one of these burglaries in the Hazmieh area had also circulated on social media. Following extensive field investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying the gang members, including: M. Sh. (born in 1996, Lebanese national), who has a prior criminal record for theft. On 22 August 2026, following close surveillance, a Branch patrol spotted him in the Labweh area and arrested him while he was aboard a Dacia bearing only one license plate. The vehicle was seized and placed under judicial impoundment. A search of the suspect and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a handgun, a magazine, and 13 live rounds of ammunition. During questioning, the suspect admitted that, together with other accomplices, he had carried out numerous break-ins involving the theft of safes from shops and commercial establishments, using several vehicles, including a black Golf, a grey Honda, and a white van. The burglaries were carried out in several areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, including Hazmieh, Dekwaneh, Airport Road, Ouzai, Raouche, Hadath, Chiyah, and Corniche el-Mazraa. He also stated that one of his accomplices had carried out several thefts using the aforementioned Honda in Sidon and its surrounding areas, and that he had purchased the handgun found in his possession from an individual in the Arsal area. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect, who was detained and referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: First – Dahr el-Baidar – Mdeirej Further to our previous statement regarding traffic measures due to paving works on the Damascus International Road, and following the completion of the paving works, the road from Beirut toward the Bekaa will be reopened. Traffic coming from the Bekaa toward Beirut will remain open but will be diverted toward Sofar at the intersection near the first Mdeirej Bridge, onto the internal road through Sofar, on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, 14 September 2026, the previous traffic schedule will resume: the uphill lane toward Mdeirej – Bekaa will be closed, with traffic diverted via the Sofar – Hammana – Tarshish road. In addition, trucks traveling from the Bekaa toward Mount Lebanon will be prohibited during the paving works, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Second – Faraya On 12 and 13 September 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., the Feast of the Cross Festival will take place in Faraya. The highway will be closed before and after the Faraya roundabout, and traffic will be diverted onto the internal roads. Uphill traffic will be diverted through Faraya – Dar Ali, while downhill traffic will be diverted via the old Faraya – Chabrouh road. Citizens are kindly requested to comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the traffic signs installed at the site in order to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: At 6:00 p.m. on 9 September 2026, a citizen filed a complaint at the Nabatiyeh Police Station of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit against an unidentified individual for breaking into his home in the Al-Bayad neighborhood of Nabatiyeh and stealing ivory ornaments and figurines valued at approximately US$100,000. Specialized units of the Information Branch were immediately instructed to conduct the necessary investigations to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Follow-up investigations revealed that an individual was offering “ivory tusks” for sale in Nabatiyeh. An Information Branch patrol immediately moved to arrest him. He was identified as: I. K. (born in 1982, Lebanese national). A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of 96 stolen ivory pieces of various sizes. During questioning, he stated that he had purchased the items from H. Kh. (born in 1979, Syrian national), who remains at large, with the intention of reselling them. The detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
