The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: First – Corniche el-Mazraa (Saeb Salam Boulevard) A contracting company will carry out asphalt milling works in preparation for road paving along Corniche el-Mazraa (Saeb Salam Boulevard), on the lane leading from Barbir toward Helou Barracks, in several phases: On 7 September 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning, the following traffic measures will be implemented: Traffic coming from the entrance to Barbir Bridge toward Corniche el-Mazraa (Saeb Salam Boulevard) will be diverted through the Barbir Tunnel. For traffic coming from the Museum toward Corniche el-Mazraa, all intersections leading to the section above the bridge along the same route will be closed. Traffic coming from Bechara El Khoury Avenue – Amilieh toward Barbir will be diverted beneath the bridge through the Omar Beyhum Tunnel. Traffic coming from Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Street toward Barbir Square will also be diverted through the Omar Beyhum Tunnel. The same measures will be implemented on 12 September 2026 during the asphalt paving works. On 9 September 2026, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning, works will take place on the lane leading from Corniche el-Mazraa (Saeb Salam Boulevard) toward the Museum. Traffic traveling over Barbir Bridge will be diverted through the Barbir Tunnel toward the Museum, and all intersections leading to Barbir Square along the section above the bridge will be closed. On 11 September 2026, the contracting company will clean the aforementioned lanes and carry out asphalt milling before paving begins. On 13 September 2026, the same traffic measures will be implemented in the aforementioned areas during the asphalt paving works. Second – Ministry of National Defense Road Starting on 7 September 2026 at 10:00 a.m., the Ministry of Public Works will carry out excavation works along the side of the main Ministry of National Defense road, heading downhill toward the Military Academy, before Raidi Printing Press, to repair a road subsidence that poses a risk to public safety. The first phase is expected to last approximately one month, followed by a second phase lasting around three weeks. Citizens are kindly requested to take note and comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the traffic signs installed in the aforementioned areas in order to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 1 September 2026, a woman filed a complaint against two unidentified women for allegedly stealing her wallet, which contained a sum of money and documents, while she was inside a shoe store in the Azmi area. Accordingly, and pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces is circulating photographs of the two suspects and asks anyone with information about them or their whereabouts to contact Al-Tall Police Station at 06-448303 and provide any relevant information. The identity of anyone providing information will remain confidential in accordance with the law.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: First – Between Dahr el-Baidar and Hammana As a reminder, further to our statement issued on 3 September 2026, a contracting company will begin asphalt paving works on the Damascus International Road on 5 September 2026, between the Dahr el-Baidar checkpoint and the Hammana intersection, as well as from the Alban Hadwan area to the Qab Elias intersection. The works will take place from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and are expected to continue for between one week and ten days. Second – Baabdat On 6 September 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a car race will take place in the Baabdat – Sfayleh area, from near the Besançon School in Baabdat to the Sfayleh area near the Lebanese Army checkpoint. Third – Jbeil On 6 September 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m., an aquathlon, consisting of swimming and running events, will take place along the coast from Bouar Port, passing by Mar Doumit Church, then down toward Mar Takla Church, and continuing to the Jbeil fishing harbor. Several internal roads will be closed, including those around Mina el-Ain, Bouar fishing harbor, Anchor Club to the left at the end of Mar Youssef Street, Saint Takla, and the fishing harbor. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces is circulating the description of the body of an unidentified man, found in an advanced state of decomposition and severe deterioration by a patrol of the Lebanese Army Naval Forces on 4 September 2026. The body was found floating offshore, off the coast of Borgholiyeh, and was transferred to the morgue at Hiram Hospital. Description of the body: The deceased is a man in his forties, approximately 175 cm tall, with black hair streaked with grey, a grown beard and moustache, and a heavy build. His skin shows signs of severe sun exposure, and his left hand is amputated. The Directorate General asks his relatives or anyone with information about him to contact the Abbassiyeh Police Station of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit at 07-380119, so that the necessary legal procedures can be completed and the body, currently held at the aforementioned hospital morgue, can be claimed.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 19 August 2026, the owner of a gas station in Sarba reported that one of his employees: H. A. (born in 2003, Syrian national), had stolen a pouch belonging to the gas station containing approximately US$1,700 and fled to an unknown location. Following the complaint, specialized units of the Information Branch launched field and intelligence operations to locate and apprehend the suspect. Investigations led to the identification of his residence in the Deir el-Zahrani area. On 20 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the aforementioned area, accompanied by: Kh. Y. (born in 1998, Syrian national). A search of the residence where they were staying resulted in the seizure of: 84 Captagon pills; A quantity of hashish; A precision scale and booklets of rolling papers; Sharp objects and a pistol-shaped lighter; 7 mobile phones and two SIM cards. The two detainees and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, particularly human trafficking and prostitution-related activities, on 24 August 2026, the Anti-Human Trafficking and Morals Protection Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit received information indicating that several women were soliciting customers among motorists and passers-by along the coastal road in the Jiyeh area and engaging in prostitution inside chalets in the area. Following this information, and after coordinating with the competent judicial authority, a Bureau unit proceeded to the location and arrested five women, two Lebanese nationals and three Syrian nationals, as well as an Iraqi national responsible for the chalets, on suspicion of facilitating prostitution. During questioning, the five women admitted to soliciting customers and engaging in prostitution inside the chalets, facilitated by the aforementioned manager and another employee who worked at night, with the knowledge of the chalet owner. As the investigation continued, the employee and the chalet owner were summoned. The employee appeared and, during questioning, admitted to the allegations against him, while the chalet owner failed to appear. Pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, all those involved were arrested. Fourteen chalets, as well as the hotel’s main entrance, were placed under judicial seal. A search and investigation notice was also issued for the chalet owner, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 1 September 2026, the body of an unidentified woman of African appearance was found in the Ramlet el-Baida area, at a location known as the “Summerland site.” According to the report of the forensic physician who examined the body, the cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest. The body was transferred to the morgue at Baabda Governmental Hospital. Description: A woman in her thirties, with dark skin and African features, of slim build, approximately 160 cm tall, wearing two rings—one in her nose and one in her right ear. She also has a tattoo containing foreign characters on the left side of her chest. Accordingly, and pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces asks her relatives or anyone with information about her to contact the Ramlet el-Baida Police Station of the Beirut Police Unit at 01-771922, to provide any relevant information so that the necessary legal procedures can be completed and the body released to her family.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by specialized Internal Security Forces units to combat drug dealing across Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information about an individual dealing drugs in the Jbeil area from a black Mercedes C300. Following this information, Detachment patrols launched field and intelligence operations to apprehend the suspect. On 2 September 2026, following investigations and surveillance, a Detachment patrol spotted him on the Jbeil highway. Officers moved in and arrested him. He was identified as: I. N. (born in 1998, Lebanese national). A quantity of narcotics was seized from his possession, including: 63 bags of hashish; 7 bags of marijuana; 5 glass tubes containing narcotic substances; 120 narcotic pills of various types, divided into nylon packets. The detainee and the seized narcotics were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ daily efforts to combat theft across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained information about an unidentified individual who was carrying out thefts from homes and commercial establishments in the city of Nabatiyeh, taking advantage of the owners’ absence due to the security situation. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the individual involved. Investigations led to his identification as: A. R. (born in 1993, Lebanese national). On 19 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the Deir el-Zahrani area. During questioning, he admitted to carrying out numerous thefts from homes and commercial establishments in Nabatiyeh. He also admitted that, on the day of his arrest, he had stolen several crates of vegetables from a commercial establishment and hidden them behind his home in Deir el-Zahrani. A Branch patrol subsequently proceeded to the location and recovered the stolen goods. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspect, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of efforts to strengthen road safety and reduce traffic accidents and the resulting deaths, injuries, and material losses, and in implementation of a decision by Minister of Interior and Municipalities Mohammad Hajjar, based on recommendations from the National Road Safety Committee, the Internal Security Forces’ traffic detachments and relevant units have launched an awareness campaign emphasizing the importance of complying with traffic laws and avoiding violations, particularly failure to wear a seat belt and using a mobile phone while driving. Starting 7 September 2026, Internal Security Forces units will begin enforcing traffic regulations and issuing citations for violations across Lebanon, particularly for: Dangerous driving, including motorcycle stunts and dangerous car maneuvers; Driving against the direction of traffic; Failure to comply with traffic lights and signs; Using a mobile phone while driving; Failure to wear a seat belt; Driving under the influence of alcohol; Carrying passengers in excess of the permitted number; Parking or stopping in a manner that poses a danger to traffic; Failure of passenger and goods transport vehicles to comply with legal requirements concerning loads, dimensions, passenger capacity, and overall vehicle safety. The Internal Security Forces will also intensify the use of speed radars to detect speeding violations. Temporary and fixed checkpoints will also be set up to verify that drivers possess the required documents, including a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, automobile insurance policy, and proof of payment of the annual vehicle fee (mechanic fee). The Internal Security Forces reaffirm that protecting public safety and human life is among their highest priorities and call on drivers to comply with traffic laws, regularize the legal status of their vehicles, refrain from committing violations, and drive cautiously in order to reduce fatal accidents and avoid traffic citations.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat crime across Lebanon, and following a complaint filed by a resident of Al-Nakhleh, Koura District, against an unidentified individual who took advantage of her absence to break into her home and steal jewelry worth approximately US$10,000 from her bedroom, operational units immediately launched field and intelligence investigations at the scene of the theft and in the surrounding area. Following investigative efforts, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying the perpetrator as: A. S. (born in 1984, Lebanese national), a repeat offender with a criminal record for theft who is also wanted under two arrest warrants for the same offence. On 28 August 2026, following surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the Harisha – Qalhat area. A large number of keys used in thefts were found in his possession. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him and confessed to carrying out the aforementioned burglary. The detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by specialized Internal Security Forces units to combat various forms of crime and apprehend perpetrators throughout Lebanon, the Bekaa Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information about an individual identified as: A. Kh. (born in 1999, Lebanese national), who, in the Mansoura – Western Bekaa area, was erasing motorcycle chassis numbers and reassembling and refurbishing motorcycles that he had previously purchased from various individuals. On 27 August 2026, a Detachment unit raided the suspect’s residence in the aforementioned area and seized several motorcycle frames whose chassis numbers had been tampered with, with the intention of later selling them without documentation as roadworthy motorcycles, without any legal authorization. The detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
