The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to pursue and arrest perpetrators of all types of crimes throughout Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information indicating that an individual was dealing narcotics while riding a motorcycle on the Ghazir Highway. Following investigations and inquiries conducted by the unit, one of its patrols arrested the suspect on 3 August 2026 while he was riding a motorcycle in the above-mentioned area. He was identified as: A. Y. (born in 1998, Syrian national). A search of the suspect and the motorcycle led to the seizure of: 15 small plastic-wrapped packets containing a white substance. 14 large plastic-wrapped packets containing a white substance. One small open bag containing a quantity of cannabis resin (hashish). Cash in US dollars of various denominations and Lebanese pounds. Two mobile phones and one tablet device. The suspect, together with the seized items and the motorcycle, was handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal proceedings, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend perpetrators of various crimes throughout Lebanon, the Tripoli Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit arrested: J. M. A. N. (born in 1970, Lebanese). She is suspected of committing fraud and impersonation. According to the investigation, she allegedly impersonated an inspector from the Ministry of Economy and approached owners of private businesses and companies, requesting sums of money under the pretext that they represented an annual tax imposed on them. She also allegedly contacted other victims by telephone and used the same scheme. Therefore, upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces is circulating her photograph and requests anyone who has fallen victim to her acts and recognizes her to contact the Tripoli Judicial Detachment at 06-443889, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat crime, particularly drug trafficking and dealing across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information indicating that unidentified individuals were distributing narcotics in several areas of Mount Lebanon Governorate, particularly in Metn, Keserwan, and Jbeil. Accordingly, the specialized units of the Branch were tasked with locating and arresting the suspects. On various dates, following extensive field monitoring and intensified patrols in the areas where the suspects were active, Information Branch patrols carried out a series of ambushes and raids in Zouk Mosbeh, Jdeideh, Safra, Bourj Hammoud, and Furn El Chebbak. These operations resulted in the arrest of six drug dealers, who were traveling on three motorcycles and two cars, all of which were seized. The suspects are: A. D. (born in 1993, Palestinian) J. M. (born in 1998, Syrian) H. A. (born in 1991, Lebanese) K. K. (born in 2001, Syrian) F. S. (born in 2003, Syrian) M. Sh. (born in 2007, Syrian) The suspects were found in possession of quantities of various narcotics, including cocaine, baz, cannabis resin (hashish), marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, and narcotic pills, as well as one counterfeit US$100 banknote. During interrogation, they confessed to the offenses attributed to them. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred, together with the seized items, to the competent judicial authority in accordance with judicial instructions.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: First – Sodeco: A contracting company will carry out road resurfacing works in the Sodeco area on both carriageways, from the Bechara El Khoury intersection to the Sodeco intersection, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 4 August 2026. Second – Eastbound Nahr Ibrahim–Madfoun Highway: Further to our previous statement regarding traffic measures on the eastbound carriageway of the Nahr Ibrahim–Madfoun Highway, scheduled from 10:00 p.m. today until dawn tomorrow for the maintenance of reflective road studs, these works have been postponed. The contractor will instead carry out the maintenance works from 10:00 p.m. on 5 August 2026 until 5:00 a.m. the following day. During the works, traffic heading toward Byblos (Jbeil) will be diverted onto the coastal road from the Nahr Ibrahim interchange. Third – Westbound Highway after the Chekka Tunnel: A contracting company will collect asphalt samples on the westbound carriageway after the Chekka Tunnel for testing by the Higher Relief Commission. The works will take place on 4 and 5 August 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Traffic will not be closed; however, the roadway will be partially narrowed during the works. Citizens are kindly requested to comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the traffic signs in place to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the tragic Beirut Port explosion, and in tribute to the souls of the martyrs, two marches will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, 4 August 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m. and continuing until their conclusion, as follows: The first march: from the Beirut Fire Brigade Center – Karantina toward the Port of Beirut. The second march: from Martyrs’ Square toward the Port of Beirut. In addition, the families of those killed and injured in the explosion will gather at 3:00 p.m. on the same day on the Airport Road, before setting off in a motorcade to the Beirut Palace of Justice, where a speech will be delivered. The procession will then continue toward Martyrs’ Gate No. 3 at the port, before entering the port premises to lay a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial. Accordingly, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces will implement the following traffic measures: Divert traffic coming from Dora toward Souk El Samak. Divert traffic heading from Forum de Beyrouth toward Dakhliyeh, preventing access to the western carriageway. Divert traffic coming from Charles Helou Avenue (Shipping Station) toward the eastern carriageway, preventing access to the Emigrant Statue. Divert traffic coming from the Emigrant Statue and close the roadway between the Shipping Station and the Emigrant Statue in both directions. Temporarily divert traffic coming from the Sahyoun descent, prior to the gathering and the departure of the first march from Martyrs’ Square toward the Georges Haddad intersection. Remove parked vehicles and close the eastern carriageway extending from Forum de Beyrouth to the Central Kataeb Headquarters. Note: These traffic measures will take effect upon the departure of the marches. The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat crime and pursue individuals who threaten public security, a video has been circulating on social media showing an individual stealing a motorcycle in the Dekwaneh area by distraction. Following intensive intelligence gathering and investigations conducted by the Beirut Investigation Unit to identify and apprehend the perpetrator, one of the unit’s patrols located and placed the suspect under surveillance in the Zoqaq El Blat area. A swift raid led to his arrest. He was identified as: A. A. (born in 2004, Syrian national). During interrogation and after being confronted with the evidence, the suspect confessed to the theft. He admitted that he had targeted the motorcycle while it was displayed for sale in front of a commercial shop, taking advantage of the shop owner’s distraction before riding away on it. The stolen motorcycle was recovered and returned to its lawful owner. The suspect, along with the seized evidence, was referred to the competent authority for the necessary legal proceedings, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat crime, particularly theft and armed robbery across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information regarding a gang involved in carrying out theft and armed robbery operations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Accordingly, the specialized units of the Branch launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the suspects. Following extensive investigations, the Branch identified several members of the gang, including: B. Q. (born in 1995, Lebanese) R. A. (born in 2006, Lebanese) Following a precise surveillance and monitoring operation, one of the Branch’s patrols arrested the two suspects in Aramoun while they were aboard a white Kia Forte, which was seized after it was found to have been used in the theft and robbery operations. Identification documents belonging to several individuals were also seized. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to participating, together with a third accomplice, in carrying out numerous armed robberies targeting individuals and motorcycles in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, including in BIEL, Costa Brava, and Ramlet El Baida. They admitted using the seized vehicle during the crimes and stated that the second suspect was responsible for disposing of the stolen property. The necessary legal measures were taken against the suspects, who were referred, together with the seized items, to the competent judicial authority in accordance with judicial instructions. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the third suspect involved.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A man identified as M. Sh. filed a complaint with the Ghazir Police Station against Z. Y., accusing her of stealing US$11,435 after he had met her at a nightclub in the Nahr El Kalb area. After leaving the venue at approximately 3:00 a.m., he discovered that she had stolen the money from his bag and fled. Following information indicating that the suspect might be heading to the Bekaa, coordination was established with the Dahr El Baidar checkpoint, where she was arrested at around 11:00 a.m. on the same day. A patrol from the Ghazir Police Station subsequently raided her residence, where the stolen cash was found hidden inside the house. During questioning, she confessed to the theft. She was arrested, and the recovered money was returned to its owner, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Following extensive investigations and inquiries, the Branch identified the two members of the gang as: H. Q. (born in 1999, Lebanese), with a criminal record involving arms trafficking. M. M. (born in 2004, Lebanese). In a targeted operation, one of the Branch’s patrols arrested the two suspects in the Bchamoun area while they were riding a gray Yamaha NMAX motorcycle without registration plates, which was seized. A search of the suspects and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: Four military pistols, five magazines, 73 rounds of live ammunition, and military equipment. Five PAXERA tablets. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the offenses attributed to them. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred, together with the seized items, to the competent judicial authority upon the instructions of the competent judiciary.

Second – Ballouneh: From 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on 2 August 2026, the Second Speed Race will take place in Ballouneh. Third – Baalbek: Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on 2 August 2026 and until the conclusion of the Arbaeen commemoration ceremonies on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, the road surrounding the Sayyida Khawla Shrine will be closed in both directions, from the Hajar Al-Habla intersection to the Palmyra intersection. In addition, from 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 3 August 2026, until the end of the Arbaeen ceremonies on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, the following roads will be closed: The eastern carriageway of the Riyaq–Baalbek International Highway, from Al-Munzer Sweets in Riyaq to the Al-Jabli intersection. The eastern carriageway of the Baalbek–Hermel Road, from the Harbata intersection to the Al-Jabli intersection. The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all types of crime, particularly drug trafficking and drug dealing, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information indicating that an individual was dealing narcotics from a van without registration plates in the Haret Hreik area. Following surveillance and monitoring operations, one of the unit’s patrols carried out a targeted operation in the area, resulting in the seizure of the van and the arrest of the suspect, who was identified as: M. M. (born in 1986, Lebanese national), who is wanted under several arrest warrants and judicial judgments for drug-related offenses. A search led to the seizure of an AK-47 assault rifle, a handgun, ammunition, a quantity of narcotics prepared for distribution, and six counterfeit US$100 banknotes. The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal proceedings, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the Internal Security Forces (ISF) and the United States of America, a graduation ceremony was held on 31 July 2026 at the Martyr Major General Wissam Al-Hassan Barracks in Dbayeh for a number of officers and non-commissioned officers who completed a Tactical Weapons training course under the supervision of U.S. experts from the Anti-Terrorism Assistance (ATA) Program. The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Mobile Forces Unit, Brigadier General Tony Matta, with the participation of the United States Ambassador, Mr. Michel Issa, and the Head of the Information Branch, Brigadier General Mahmoud Qobrosli. The event featured a documentary presentation highlighting the different stages of the training course, followed by the presentation of certificates to the graduates. The ceremony concluded with a cocktail reception and a commemorative photo session.
