The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary across Lebanon, the specialized units of the Information Branch, following extensive field operations and intelligence gathering, succeeded in locating a suspect wanted for the murder of a Syrian woman in Hay El Sellom on 11 October 2024. He was identified as: H.A. (born in 2002, Lebanese), who is wanted pursuant to an arrest warrant for murder and a final court judgment for unlawful discharge of a firearm. On 6 July 2026, following close surveillance, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in a carefully planned ambush in Hay El Sellom while he was riding an unregistered white motorcycle, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: a military handgun with a magazine; 16 live rounds of ammunition; a handgun holster and a fabric belt; a silver-colored chain; personal identification documents belonging to his brother; a mobile phone; an amount of cash. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 14 July 2026, the Zgharta Traffic Unit, part of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, received information about a network involved in forging Syrian driver’s licenses and distributing them to Syrian nationals residing in Lebanon. Following the information received, the unit launched an investigation and arrested the Syrian national: D.M.J. (born in 2006), who was found in possession of a Syrian driver’s license that was determined to be forged. During questioning, he admitted obtaining the license from: L.S. (born in 1971, Lebanese), in exchange for US$70, after sending her via WhatsApp a copy of his individual civil registry extract, a copy of his father’s identity card, and his blood type, with the aim of facilitating his movement and passage through security checkpoints. Further investigation led officers to lure the female suspect to a designated location, where she was arrested. She admitted supplying the driver’s license to the suspect and stated that she had been communicating with a Syrian individual named Ibrahim (full identity unknown), who was responsible for obtaining the licenses. She explained that she would leave the required documents at a prearranged location and later collect the driver’s licenses. She also admitted to obtaining more than 20 driver’s licenses for Syrian nationals in Lebanon in exchange for US$25 per license, claiming that she was unaware they were forged. The two suspects, together with the seized evidence, were referred to the Tripoli Judicial Investigation Unit of the Judicial Police for the necessary legal proceedings, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority. Investigations remain ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that an unidentified individual was dealing narcotic drugs in the Mount Lebanon area. Based on this information, the competent units within the Information Branch were instructed to carry out field operations and investigative measures to identify and apprehend the suspect. As a result of the investigations, he was identified as: A.M. (born in 2008, Lebanese). On 4 July 2026, following close surveillance, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in the act in the Dekouaneh area while he was selling narcotics from a GR motorcycle, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle led to the seizure of: 4 plastic containers marked “S100” containing cocaine; 4 plastic containers marked “NET” containing cocaine; 4 bags, each containing an envelope marked “S50” filled with cocaine; 7 plastic containers containing cocaine; 10 plastic caps containing cocaine; 3 plastic caps marked “S100” containing cocaine base; one mobile phone and an amount of cash. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 16 July 2026, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit arrested: A.F. (born in 1989, Lebanese), on charges of fraud, obtaining money by deception, and theft. The suspect worked as an aluminum maintenance technician. He collected money from customers on the pretext of carrying out maintenance work, then diverted the funds into stock market trading without performing the agreed work or returning the money to its owners. Accordingly, and pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces is releasing his photograph and urges anyone who has fallen victim to his fraudulent activities and recognizes him to contact the Bir Hassan Police Station, within the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, at 01-858473, in order to initiate the necessary legal procedures.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all forms of crime throughout Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that an unidentified individual was facilitating prostitution and engaging in human trafficking activities in the Mount Lebanon Governorate. Based on this information, the competent units within the Information Branch were instructed to carry out field operations and investigative measures to identify and apprehend the suspect. As a result of the investigations, he was identified as: M.S. (born in 1987, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for facilitating prostitution and is the subject of two outstanding arrest warrants for facilitating prostitution and human trafficking offenses. On 2 July 2026, following close surveillance, a special unit of the Information Branch arrested him in Hazmieh while he was driving a white Nissan Sunny, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a leather wallet containing personal documents and two mobile phones. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 9 July 2026, the Beirut Central Police Station, part of the Beirut Police Unit, received a phone call from a Syrian national reporting that, while working as a concierge in a building belonging to a hotel located on the Beirut Central District waterfront, he discovered that his room had been broken into. A total of US$10,100 had been stolen. A police patrol immediately proceeded to the scene. After taking the complainant’s statement, officers found a number of workers inside the building and escorted them to the police station for questioning. During questioning, the following individual: M.Y. (born in 2008, Syrian), confessed to stealing the aforementioned amount, stating that most of the money was at his residence in the Gemmayzeh area. Accordingly, the patrol accompanied him to his residence, where officers recovered US$9,600 from his room, part of the stolen amount. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.

The Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdallah, headed an official delegation from the General Directorate, which included the Head of the Information Branch, Brigadier Mahmoud Qabarsli, and the Chief of Staff, Brigadier Georges Khairallah, to participate in the 5th United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS 2026), held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 7 and 8 July. The summit brought together ministers, chiefs of police, and senior representatives of regional and professional policing organizations. During the event, Major General Abdallah delivered a speech and held several bilateral meetings, including with Jean-Pierre Lacroix, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, and Natalia Gherman, Executive Director of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism. The summit addressed a number of key issues, including ways to strengthen law enforcement, enhance the performance of national police services through capacity-building, integrate their priorities into international peace and security operations, and reinforce cooperation between the United Nations Police and national police services in addressing current and emerging global security challenges.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat motorcycle theft across various regions of Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that two unidentified individuals were involved in stealing motorcycles in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. A video documenting one of the thefts committed by the suspects was also circulated on social media. Based on this information, the competent units within the Information Branch were instructed to carry out field operations and investigative measures to identify and apprehend those involved. As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the alleged ringleader is: A.Q. (born in 2006, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for robbery and drug-related offenses and is the subject of an outstanding wanted notice for robbery and drug offenses. On 1 July 2026, following surveillance and monitoring operations, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in Sin El Fil while he was riding a gray GR 150 motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. It was subsequently established that the motorcycle had been stolen on 8 June 2026 from Ain El Remmaneh. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: a military handgun containing a loaded magazine with one live round, along with a handgun holster; a ring, a necklace with a live cartridge pendant, and a black bracelet with a gold-colored finish; three mobile phones; an amount of cash. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the charges against him. He admitted that, together with other individuals, he had carried out numerous motorcycle thefts in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, including in Ain El Remmaneh and Maamoura. He also admitted to firing shots at an individual on 9 June 2026, as well as selling stolen motorcycles on behalf of a person residing in the Lailaki area. Furthermore, he admitted to using narcotic drugs, including cocaine base and cannabis. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent public prosecutor. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all forms of crime and apprehend offenders throughout Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Intelligence Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie obtained information regarding an individual involved in the theft and armed robbery of motorcycles in the Al-Rihab area. Following investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts, a patrol from the unit arrested the suspect in the same area. He was identified as: A. G. (born in 2009, Syrian national). During questioning, he confessed to committing more than ten motorcycle robberies in various areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. He was referred to the competent authority for the necessary legal proceedings in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, the European Union, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Ms. Sandra De Waele, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Lebanon, Ms. Blerta Aliko, visited the Antelias Police Station on July 15, 2026, in the presence of the Commander of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, Brigadier Jean Aouad. During the visit, they reviewed the rehabilitation works carried out at the station, one of three police stations being upgraded under a project funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP to strengthen the infrastructure and operational capabilities of the Internal Security Forces. On this occasion, several vehicles and a water tanker were also handed over to the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces to support its missions, particularly in southern Lebanon. This support is part of a project valued at more than US$3 million, which also aims to strengthen cooperation between the Internal Security Forces, municipalities, and local communities by supporting community policing initiatives. The project seeks to improve the security response, reinforce state institutions, and enhance security, stability, and Lebanon’s sustainable recovery process.

The unit immediately launched surveillance and monitoring operations and carried out a carefully planned ambush in the area, resulting in the arrest of the suspect, identified as: A. A. (born in 2001, Lebanese, according to his statements). A search led to the seizure of: 28 small packets containing narcotic substances bearing the “Coffee” logo. 31 small packets containing the substance known as “baz”, bearing the “Bear” logo. One small packet containing a narcotic substance bearing the “Crown” logo. Two imitation handguns with their magazines, unloaded. An amount of cash in Lebanese pounds and U.S. dollars. A mobile phone. A GR motorcycle with no registration plate. The suspect, along with the seized items and the motorcycle, was referred to the competent unit for the necessary legal proceedings in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
