The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A contracting company will carry out work to lay the second layer of asphalt from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, 15 and 16 August 2026, in several areas of Beirut. Accordingly, the Directorate General will implement the following traffic measures: First – In Cola, on the eastbound lane leading from Hamza Mosque toward the Corniche al-Mazraa intersection: Traffic coming uphill from the Sports City toward Tariq al-Jdideh will be diverted left onto Fleifel Street, then left onto Abdel Basset Ghandour Street, reaching the Arab University of Beirut behind Hamza Mosque. Traffic will then continue toward Corniche al-Mazraa at the Al-Rifai intersection. Traffic coming from Al-Rifai toward Cola will be restricted to one lane. Traffic coming from Al-Zouheiri Station–Wata al-Msaytbeh toward Tariq al-Jdideh will be diverted and restricted to one lane to the right of the Cola–Al-Boustani intersection. Traffic coming from the downhill road by the Arab University of Beirut up to Hamza Mosque and heading toward Cola will be diverted right onto Fleifel Street, then left onto Abdel Basset Ghandour Street, reaching the Arab University of Beirut behind the aforementioned mosque. Traffic will then continue toward the Al-Rifai intersection on Corniche al-Mazraa and onward toward Cola, using one lane. Second – From Peugeot Bridge to the Dakhiliyeh intersection: Traffic will be prohibited along the aforementioned stretch. Vehicles coming from beneath Peugeot Bridge will be diverted toward Al-Badawi Street and onward to Mar Mikhaël–Gemmayzeh. Traffic coming from the Al-Nahr traffic lights will be diverted toward Fiat Bridge, with two lanes operating in opposite directions. Citizens are requested to take note of these measures and comply with the instructions and directions of Internal Security Forces personnel in order to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary, a patrol from the Beirut Central District Police Station of the Beirut Police Unit arrested a suspicious individual in downtown Beirut on 19 July 2026, while he was riding an olive-green SYM GR 125 motorcycle. After verifying his identity, he was identified as: F. J. (born in 1996, Lebanese) who was wanted in connection with three judicial proceedings for theft offenses. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judiciary.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution across various regions of Lebanon, the Information Branch received information indicating that two unidentified individuals were dealing drugs in the North Lebanon Governorate. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the two suspects. As a result of their inquiries and investigations, the Branch was able to establish their identities as: W. A. A. (born in 2000, Palestinian), nicknamed “Obama”; M. Sh. (born in 1996, Palestinian), nicknamed “Al-Tablouj.” On 12 August 2026, following a meticulous surveillance and monitoring operation, a Branch patrol arrested them in the Al-Madfoun area while they were aboard a public passenger van. A search of the two suspects resulted in the seizure of: 22 large transparent nylon bags containing 2,784 g of salvia; 3 small transparent bags containing 21 g of the same substance; 3 small transparent bags containing plastic capsules filled with 37 g of cocaine base; as well as two mobile phones. During questioning, they admitted that they had obtained the drugs from the Laylaki area with the intention of distributing them in various parts of the North Lebanon Governorate. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were handed over, along with the seized items, to the relevant authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent judiciary.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Municipality of Jezzine is organizing its annual festival to mark the occasion. A Mass will be held at Our Lady Church on 14 August 2026 at 6:00 p.m., followed by a religious procession through the city’s streets to the Al-Maabour area, at the entrance to Jezzine. A free concert will then be held near the municipal building. Accordingly, traffic within the city will be diverted on the aforementioned date from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., as follows: Traffic coming from the city of Sidon toward Jezzine will be diverted starting from the Dahr al-Ramleh area, toward Haitoura–Ain al-Toughra (behind the Jezzine Government Serail), passing through the Al-Shakharib neighborhood, and continuing to Jezzine Square. Traffic coming from the town of Kfar Houneh toward Sidon will be diverted to the street behind Saint Anthony Monastery in Jezzine, then to Restaurants Street, continuing to Al-Maabour, and from there to the main road leading toward Sidon. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 30 July 2026, an unidentified individual riding a motorcycle stormed a fuel station in the Bhanine–Minieh area. He pointed a handgun at the station attendant, forced him to open the safe, and stole approximately US$28,000 from it before fleeing to an unknown destination. The competent units of the Information Branch immediately launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the perpetrator. As a result of their inquiries and investigations, the Branch identified him as: A. S. (born in 1983, Lebanese national), who was the subject of a search and investigation notice for theft. On 6 August 2026, following a meticulous surveillance and monitoring operation, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in the aforementioned area. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over to the relevant authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent judiciary.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As a result of the extensive inquiries and investigations conducted by the Baabda Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit, and following nearly a month of close surveillance and monitoring, its officers were able, on 11 August 2026, to arrest the following individual in the Ghazir area: Y. S. (born in 1995, Syrian national) He is suspected of involvement in fraud offenses by claiming that he could obtain visas and residence permits for Syrian nationals in exchange for sums of money. Accordingly, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces asks anyone who fell victim to his actions and recognizes him to report to the aforementioned detachment, located at the Baabda Serail, or to call either of the following numbers: 921115-05 / 922173-05, so that the necessary legal measures may be taken.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 29 July 2026, a woman filed a complaint with the Baakline Police Station of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, reporting the theft of CHF 2,220 from her residence in the town of Wadi Bnahleh – Chouf. She also stated that approximately two months earlier she had discovered the disappearance of US$2,500, and suspected one of her father-in-law’s workers: T. M. H. (born in 1991, Syrian national). Following investigations conducted by officers of the police station, the suspect was located later that same day in the same town and arrested in coordination with a patrol from the Information Branch. A search of the suspect and his residence led to the seizure of: LBP 520,000,000 US$11,082 CHF 1,000 During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing the CHF 2,220, explaining that he had exchanged part of the amount into US dollars. He further claimed that the remaining money seized at his residence had been earned through his work. The suspect and the seized funds were referred to the competent judicial authority through the Beiteddine Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit, in accordance with judicial instructions.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A video circulating on social media showed an individual firing a military handgun at a commercial shop in the Tariq El Jdideh – Sports City area, causing panic and fear among residents. The specialized units of the Internal Security Forces immediately launched intensive field and investigative operations to identify the perpetrator and locate him. On 12 August 2026, following extensive investigations and close monitoring, officers from the Beirut Investigation Unit of the Beirut Police Unit identified the suspect’s whereabouts. A carefully planned ambush was set up in the Omar Beyhum area, leading to his arrest. He was identified as: T. H. (born in 2007, Palestinian national), who is also wanted under an arrest warrant for theft. A knife was found in his possession. During interrogation, he confessed to carrying out the shooting. The suspect and the seized item were handed over to the competent police station for the necessary legal proceedings, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 13 July 2026, the Baabda Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit was assigned an investigation file following a complaint filed by a citizen against an unknown person for the theft of US$15,000 from inside his home in one of the towns of the Baabda District. Following investigations and inquiries conducted by the Detachment, suspicion fell on an employee at the fuel station owned by the complainant, identified as: H. A. (born in 2001, Syrian national). After further questioning and being confronted with evidence indicating his involvement, the suspect confessed to stealing the money and admitted that he had spent it on purchasing in-game credits for an online gaming application. The suspect was referred to the competent judicial authority in accordance with its instructions.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and arrest those involved throughout Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information indicating that an individual was dealing narcotics while riding a motorcycle in the Hay El Sellom area. Accordingly, the unit intensified its field operations, surveillance, and investigative efforts to locate the suspect. On 4 August 2026, during a targeted operation carried out in Hay El Sellom, one of the unit’s patrols arrested the suspect, identified as: A. M. S. (born in 2007, Syrian national), who was riding a motorcycle without registration plates. A search of the suspect led to the seizure of: Quantities of narcotics prepared for distribution, including cannabis resin (hashish) and other narcotic substances packaged in various bags. One counterfeit US$50 banknote. Cash in US dollars and Lebanese pounds. One mobile phone. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to drug dealing. He was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent police station for the necessary legal proceedings, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all types of crime throughout Lebanon and apprehend those responsible, particularly drug trafficking and drug dealing, the Bekaa Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information indicating that: M. Q. (born in 1961, Lebanese) was suspected of purchasing a quantity of narcotics from the town of Hour Taala with the intention of transporting and distributing them outside the Bekaa region. Following close surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the unit intercepted the suspect in the Sareen area after pursuing him while he was driving a Nissan Sunny. During the chase, the suspect attempted to escape by throwing a plastic bag out of the vehicle’s window. A search of the area led to the recovery of the bag, which contained: A transparent plastic container holding approximately 15 grams of cocaine. Four plastic bags containing the same substance, wrapped inside paper packaging, with a total weight of approximately 20 grams. When confronted with the seized narcotics, the suspect admitted they belonged to him. He also confessed that he had been involved in transporting narcotics for approximately two months, in return for payment, at a rate of twice per week. The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal proceedings, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all forms of crime, particularly organized fraud schemes, a Syrian national filed a complaint with the Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit against unknown persons after falling victim to a fraud operation in which approximately USDT 500,000 in cryptocurrency was stolen from him inside an apartment in Sahel Aalma. According to his statement, in December 2025, he was contacted by a member of the gang using an Italian telephone number, who offered to purchase USDT cryptocurrency in exchange for a commission higher than the prevailing market rate. Following a meeting at a hotel in Beirut with two individuals who introduced themselves as businessmen—one Syrian and the other Jordanian—a trial transfer of US$2,000 was successfully made to a designated digital wallet. The parties then agreed to complete the main transaction at an apartment in Sahel Aalma. The following day, the victim met the two individuals at the apartment, where the cash he was supposed to receive was counted and examined using a counterfeit currency detector. He then transferred 500,000 USDT to the designated digital wallet. Immediately after the transfer, one member of the gang pretended to suffer a severe heart attack, prompting two accomplices and the victim to take him to a nearby pharmacy for assistance, while the remaining suspects stayed inside the apartment. When the victim returned, he discovered that all members of the gang had fled without handing over the agreed cash payment. The Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Bureau immediately launched an extensive investigation that lasted nearly six months, ultimately uncovering the circumstances of the fraud and identifying those involved. Technical and electronic investigations established that: M. F. H. H. (born in 1992, Lebanese), known by the alias “Al-Mukhtar,” was the mastermind behind the operation. He enlisted the assistance of two accomplices, one Syrian and one Jordanian, who had entered Lebanon from abroad to participate in carrying out the scheme. Following a specialized operation conducted by the Special Operations Group of the Judicial Police Unit, after approximately five months of surveillance, the suspect was arrested. During interrogation, he was confronted with evidence and intelligence confirming his involvement. Wanted notices have also been issued against the remaining suspects, and efforts are ongoing to arrest them. Upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces is circulating the suspect’s photograph and requests anyone who has fallen victim to his fraudulent acts or recognizes him to report to the Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Bureau or call 01-293293, in preparation for the necessary legal proceedings.
