A special operation by the Mount Lebanon Intelligence Unit leads to the arrest of a drug dealer

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: The following statement: As part of the daily efforts carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat the trafficking and distribution of narcotics across various Lebanese regions, and based on information received by the Mount Lebanon Intelligence Unit in the Regional Gendarmerie Division regarding a person allegedly dealing narcotics in the Hayy al-Sellom area while riding a motorcycle, a force from the unit headed to the location on July 6, 2026. Following surveillance and monitoring, his location was identified, and a specialized security operation led to his interception and arrest while he was on a motorcycle. He is identified as: A. H. (born in 1995, Lebanese) Upon searching him, a quantity of narcotics was found in his possession, packaged in small nylon bags and plastic containers, and prepared for distribution. He, along with the motorcycle and the seized items, was handed over to the relevant unit for the necessary legal action to be taken against him, at the instruction of the competent judicial authority.

The Internal Security Forces launch their electronic library in partnership with the global EBSCO database.

Within the framework of the strategic plan developed by the Internal Security Forces, particularly in terms of institutional and administrative development and the modernization of infrastructure, a ceremony was held on 7 July 2026 at the Le Royal Hotel – Dbayeh to launch the partnership project with the global EBSCO database, implemented for the benefit of the Internal Security Forces Library, with funding from BLOM Bank. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Social Services Administration Unit, Brigadier General Elie Al-Asmar, representing the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdullah; the Vice President of Sales for the Middle East and North Africa and representative of EBSCO, Mr. Ali Abdullah; the Head of Business Development and Retail Solutions and representative of BLOM Bank, Ms. Christine Wakim; as well as the representative of the Institute of Judicial Studies, Judge Jad Maalouf; the representative of the Beirut Bar Association, lawyer Alexander Najjar; the representative of the Bar Association in the North, Dr. Odine Salloum; representatives of the Scientific Supervisory Committee of the Security Studies Journal, the Lebanese University, and a number of private universities, in addition to officers from the Internal Security Forces. After the Lebanese national anthem, Administrative Major Linda Ghosban and Administrative Major Micheline Sfeir welcomed the attendees. Mr. Ali Abdullah then delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the digital library initiative comes within the framework of EBSCO’s support for digital transformation and the enhancement of access to knowledge. He noted that it provides Internal Security Forces personnel with an integrated knowledge platform that supports continuous training and performance development. He explained that investing in knowledge constitutes a fundamental pillar for building capacities and preparing human resources capable of keeping pace with developments, expressing his pride in the partnership with the Internal Security Forces and in the role of this platform in promoting institutional excellence. For his part, Brigadier General Elie Al-Asmar pointed out that the launch of the Internal Security Forces electronic library constitutes a pivotal milestone in the development of knowledge-based work within the institution, and a qualitative step that reflects the leadership’s vision of moving toward a modern digital environment. This environment enables officers, personnel, and their families to access more than 300,000 sources, thereby strengthening continuous learning and professional development. He noted that the project falls within the strategic plan of the Internal Security Forces and was achieved thanks to the support of the Director General and the partnership with both EBSCO and BLOM Bank, praising the efforts of all parties that contributed to its success. He stressed that the electronic library is not merely a technical project, but rather a sustainable knowledge platform aimed at strengthening scientific research, developing performance, building capacities, and raising the level of readiness, based on the belief that investing in knowledge forms the foundation of effective security and sustainable institutional development. The ceremony concluded with a presentation delivered by the representative of EBSCO, Mr. Ali Abdullah, during which he addressed the mechanism for using the digital platform and ways to benefit from its diverse content and resources, allowing for more effective access to knowledge. Commemorative shields were also exchanged between Brigadier General Elie Al-Asmar and Mr. Ali Abdullah, in appreciation of the partnership and cooperation in implementing this project.

A drug dealer uses a delivery bag as a disguise… and the Information Branch arrests him.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following communiqué: As part of the ongoing follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to curb drug dealing across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch received information about an unidentified person selling drugs on the Old Saida Road. As a result of inquiries and investigations, the Branch was able to identify him as: N. D. A. born in 2001, Syrian national On 19 June 2026, after close surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch’s patrols was able to arrest him in the act in the Hadath area while he was selling drugs on board an unregistered motorcycle, which was seized. He was carrying a bag used for delivery orders in order to disguise his activity. Upon searching him and the motorcycle, the following were found: 12 plastic capsules inside a silver-colored envelope 12 transparent plastic capsules containing a white substance 4 capsules inside an envelope bearing a yellow SPEC sticker 3 capsules containing a white rock-like substance, marked “110” on one side and “حجر” on the other 3 plastic caps inside an envelope containing a white substance 2 plastic caps inside a bag bearing a yellow sticker marked “special offer,” containing a white substance 2 bags containing a black-colored substance A black leather bag, a helmet, a delivery bag, a mobile phone, and a sum of money During questioning, he confessed to the charges attributed to him in terms of selling drugs on board the motorcycle on which he was arrested, for the benefit of another person, on the Old Saida Road between Hadath and Choueifat. He added that he receives between 50 and 60 US dollars for each working day, and that he picks up the goods from an unidentified person riding a motorcycle, in different locations including the Kafaat roundabout, Hadath, and the Old Saida Road. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over, along with the seized items, to the competent authority, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following communiqué: As part of the ongoing work carried out by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest perpetrators of various types of crimes across all Lebanese regions, particularly fraud crimes, information became available to the Tripoli Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit regarding the activities of: A. T. D. H. born in 1980, Jordanian national He had been defrauding his victims and seizing their money in a professional manner. He would meet them in public places and make them believe that he worked in the field of investment in the stock market, gold, and silver, asking them to provide him with sums of money to invest in these fields. Once he received the requested amounts, he would disappear. Therefore, and based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces is circulating his photo and asks anyone who knows anything about him or his whereabouts to contact the Tripoli Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit at one of the following numbers: 06-423039 or 06-626393, to provide any available information. Celebrate in a sportsmanlike spirit… The Internal Security Forces call on citizens to cheer in a civilized manner and warn troublemakers.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following communiqué: As competition intensifies in the FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, with the tournament reaching the knockout stages, and amid the accompanying celebrations and cheering, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces reminds citizens of the need to express victory or defeat in a sportsmanlike spirit and in a civilized and responsible manner, away from any aggressive or dangerous behavior. It also calls on citizens to completely refrain from firing shots into the air, or using fireworks that may cause casualties and spark fires in homes and wooded areas, or engaging in any behavior that could endanger public safety, particularly sitting on car windows or standing through sunroofs while vehicles are moving. The Directorate notes that, during the events of the 2022 World Cup, such practices resulted in 42 incidents, including 25 cases of celebratory gunfire, in addition to other incidents involving gunfire in protest or anger, marches and gatherings accompanied by gunfire, as well as disputes and the brandishing of weapons. During the 2026 World Cup competitions to date, 8 cheering-related incidents have also been recorded, including disputes, gunfire in protest, and the throwing of fireworks that resulted in injuries. These practices have nothing to do with cheering. They may lead to deaths or injuries, endanger public safety, spread fear and panic among citizens, and cause disputes, assaults, and damage to public and private property. The Directorate affirms that celebratory gunfire, the use of fireworks, and all other acts that threaten security and public order are unlawful practices. Their perpetrators will be prosecuted in accordance with the law, without any leniency. The competent units are also conducting the necessary investigations with violators in preparation for taking legal measures against them. Therefore, the Directorate calls on all drivers, fans, and citizens to abide by the laws and comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of others, and to avoid turning moments of joy into tragedies with grave consequences. Photo circulated of a detainee who impersonated a municipal police officer or security officer to rob his victims at gunpoint in the Marina area of Dbayeh. Were you one of his victims?

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following communiqué: After several complaints were filed with the Antelias Police Station of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit against an unknown person impersonating a municipal police officer or a security officer, and carrying out armed robberies, particularly along the seaside corniche in the Marina area of Dbayeh, using a dangerous and repeated criminal method that posed a direct threat to citizens’ security and safety, the personnel of the Jdeideh Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit launched their investigations and intensified their inquiries and surveillance to identify and arrest the perpetrator. As a result of the follow-up, the Detachment was able to identify the suspect, who turned out to be the detainee: M. H., born in 1995, Lebanese national He had previously been arrested by the Information Branch for theft, and his photo had been circulated so that those who had fallen victim to his acts could identify him. During questioning regarding the armed robbery cases, he confessed to the charges attributed to him and admitted to carrying out more than 50 robberies in the Marina area of Dbayeh, using the same criminal method. Therefore, and based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces is circulating the photo of the detainee and asks those who fell victim to his acts and recognized him to come to the headquarters of the Jdeideh Judicial Detachment, or to call: 01-901203, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures.

In a well-planned ambush, the Information Branch arrests a dangerous wanted man with 26 judicial warrants against him for various crimes.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following communiqué: As part of the daily follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest persons wanted by the judiciary and suspects across various Lebanese regions, and as a result of the field and intelligence follow-up conducted by the specialized units, the Information Branch was able to determine the whereabouts of one of the most dangerous persons wanted by the judiciary inside the Sabra camp. He had been in hiding for a long period due to his criminal activity. He is identified as: H. A. R. born in 1996, Palestinian national There are 26 judicial warrants against him for crimes including drug trafficking, arms trafficking, shooting, and smuggling prohibited items into prison. He is considered a dangerous individual and continuously carries a weapon. Orders were given to work on arresting him as quickly as possible. On 15 June 2026, after close surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch’s patrols was able to arrest him after setting up a carefully planned ambush inside the aforementioned camp. A military pistol was seized in his possession. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over, along with the seized pistol, to the competent authority, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

The Internal Security Forces refute the fabricated claims made by the sister of one of the inmates who has committed the highest number of crimes inside prison.

Issued by the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: A video clip of an interview conducted during a television program is being circulated on social media, in which the sister of inmate K. M. (born in 1975, Lebanese) made fabricated accusations regarding the alleged mistreatment of her brother by members of the Internal Security Forces, in addition to a series of inaccurate claims. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces wishes to clarify the following: The aforementioned inmate had previously been admitted to prison several times during the years 2009, 2012, 2014, and 2018. His most recent admission was on 06-12-2021. Several judgment summaries have been issued against him, sentencing him to ten years of imprisonment, in addition to dozens of judicial warrants issued by the competent judiciary. He has committed several criminal acts and violations inside prisons, documented in 17 reports, most notably: riots, setting fire inside Qobbeh Prison, kidnapping military personnel, assault and battery, death threats, detaining inmates, imposing extortion payments, smuggling prohibited items, possessing mobile phones, self-inflicted cutting, vandalism inside prison, indecent acts, etc. This required his transfer, on more than one occasion, to several prisons for disciplinary reasons, namely: Zahle, Baalbek, Jbeil, Jezzine, Jeb Jennine, Qobbeh, Roumieh, and Amioun. The latest of these measures took place on 06-01-2026, when K. M., while in Jeb Jennine Prison, attempted to smuggle prohibited items and bribe one of the officers. On 07-01-2026, he also went on a hunger strike. After ending his strike, he was transferred to Jbeil Prison in consideration of his family situation and to facilitate communication with his relatives. On 02-06-2026, he inflicted cuts on himself, and was therefore transferred for disciplinary reasons to Zahle Prison, where he repeated the same act. He was then transferred for disciplinary reasons to Baalbek Prison, and subsequently to Batroun Prison. The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces affirms that the measures taken against the aforementioned inmate were carried out within the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, with the aim of maintaining order inside prisons, ensuring the safety of inmates and personnel assigned to guard duty, and preventing the smuggling of prohibited items or the commission of any violations or criminal acts inside detention facilities. It also affirms that it will not tolerate any attempt to distort the image of the institution or slander its members through fabricated news or unsubstantiated allegations, and that it reserves its right to file a legal claim against the sister of the aforementioned inmate.

Two wanted persons involved in motorcycle thefts: the Information Branch arrests them.

Issued by the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: As part of the ongoing follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat motorcycle theft operations across various Lebanese regions, information was obtained by the Information Branch regarding two unidentified persons carrying out motorcycle thefts in areas within the governorates of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Branch was able to identify them as: H. D. (born in 1996, Lebanese) H. H. (born in 2005, Lebanese) It was found that they are wanted by the judiciary for the crimes of forming a gang, theft, and drug-related offenses. On 27-06-2026, following precise surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch’s patrols managed to arrest them in the Hadath area, on board an olive-colored “GR” motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. Upon searching them and the motorcycle, the following items were seized: A military pistol with two magazines containing 36 live rounds A military pistol with a magazine containing 9 live rounds Two mobile phones. During the investigation, the first suspect confessed to the charges brought against him, namely carrying out around 50 motorcycle thefts from in front of houses in several areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, including Salim Salam, Dora, and the southern suburbs. He also admitted to using drugs, particularly hashish and Tramal. The second suspect also confessed to the charges brought against him and admitted to using hashish. They further stated that they had purchased the two seized pistols found in their possession from a person in Burj El-Barajneh Camp. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred, along with the seized items, to the concerned authority, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

Accordingly, the specialized units of the Branch began their field and intelligence measures to identify and arrest the aforementioned drug dealer. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Branch was able to identify him as: A. M. (born in 1989, Syrian national) On 23-06-2026, following precise surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch’s patrols managed to arrest him in the act in the Dbayeh area, while he was promoting drugs on board a silver Kia Cerato vehicle, which was seized. Upon searching him and the vehicle, the following items were seized: 3 plastic containers marked “Fear Nothing,” containing cocaine. 13 plastic containers marked “Fear Nothing” in red, containing cocaine base. 25 plastic containers marked “Fear Nothing” in black, containing cocaine base. A bag containing 14 Captagon pills. 3 mobile phones and a sum of money. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges brought against him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, along with the seized items, to the competent authority, based on the instructions of the judiciary.

Circulating the description of an unidentified man who was struck in a road accident on Ziad Rahbani Highway. Does anyone have any information about him?

Issued by the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: On 02-07-2026, on Ziad Rahbani Highway – eastern lane, opposite Al-Ansar Stadium, a collision occurred between a motorcycle driven by an unidentified person, who had no document identifying him, and a disabled tanker truck parked on the side of the road. As a result of the accident, the motorcycle rider was transferred to Al-Rasoul Al-Aazam Hospital while unconscious. He is currently in the intensive care unit. His description: a foreign man in his thirties, dark-skinned, with black hair, of medium build, clean-shaven, with no distinctive marks and no tattoos. Therefore, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces requests anyone who has any information about him to come to the Dahiyeh Traffic Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, or to contact the following number: 01-451062, in order to take the necessary legal measures.

Traffic measures on 05-07-2026 in Bteghrine for a cycling race, and in Beirut for a marathon.

Issued by the Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following was issued: First: On 05-07-2026, the “2026 Lebanese Official Road Championship” cycling race will be held, organized by the Lebanese Cycling Federation, with the participation of players from federated clubs, along with cycling teams from the Lebanese Army and the Internal Security Forces. The race will take place in the Beit Mery area on the road extending between Zaarour and Baskinta, over several laps within a closed route between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Accordingly, intersections will be closed and traffic will be diverted along the race route, starting at 7:00 a.m. on the aforementioned date until its completion. Second: On 05-07-2026, the Beirut Marathon Association will organize the “Run The City” 10 km race in Beirut, between 6:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., starting from Prince Bachir Street opposite Al-Amin Mosque and ending at Ahmad Chawki Street opposite Metropole Restaurant. The number of participants is estimated at around 1,700 male and female runners. On this occasion, the race route will be fully isolated starting at 4:30 a.m. on 05-07-2026 until the race ends. Vehicles will also begin to be removed along the entire race route starting at 6:00 p.m. on 04-07-2026. Citizens are kindly requested to take note and to abide by the instructions and directions of Internal Security Forces personnel, as well as traffic guidance signs in the aforementioned areas, in order to preserve public safety and facilitate traffic flow.
