She was subsequently transferred to the Emergency Department of Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Achrafieh, where she remains hospitalized. She is approximately 80 years old, tall, heavily built, with short white hair and brown eyes. Therefore, and based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces requests anyone who may have information about her identity or relatives to contact the Achrafieh Police Station of the Beirut Police Unit at 01-328094, in order to take the necessary legal measures.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat theft and embezzlement crimes across various Lebanese regions and arrest those responsible, on 14-05-2026, the Information Branch received information that H. Sh. (born in 1983, Lebanese) had stolen USD 429,000 belonging to Banque de Financement – Hamra Branch while transporting the funds from Banque du Liban to the bank. Consequently, the specialized units of the Information Branch launched field and intelligence operations to locate the suspect, arrest him, and recover the embezzled funds. Through technical surveillance and within a short period of time, it was established that the suspect had headed to Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport accompanied by another individual who was assisting him in fleeing to an African country. The accomplice was identified as: A. A. (born in 1986, Lebanese) On the same date, as a result of immediate follow-up and coordination with the security agencies at the airport, both suspects were arrested inside the airport. An amount of USD 7,870 was found in their possession. A search of the second suspect’s residence led to the seizure of USD 420,000. During interrogation, H. Sh. admitted that he had been employed as a courier for the bank since 2011 and had premeditated the theft after learning the schedule of regular cash transfers from Banque du Liban. He stated that he had conspired with the second suspect, who was supposed to help him flee to an African country and share the stolen money. He further confessed that on 14-05-2026 he lured the employee responsible for transporting the funds and stole the bag containing the money. He then fled to the Airport Road area, where he met the second suspect, and together they headed to the airport in preparation for leaving Lebanon. However, they were arrested before they could depart. A. A. also admitted to the charges brought against him. The entire stolen amount was recovered and handed over to the management of Banque de Financement. The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, and they were referred to the competent judicial authority upon the instructions of the competent judiciary.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: Further to our previous communiqué dated 07-05-2026 regarding road paving works in the Salim Salam area and its surroundings, the contracting company will apply a second asphalt layer in the Salim Salam area, from Al Sultan Sweets to Al Makhazen stores, starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, 06-06-2026, until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, 07-06-2026. Accordingly, the following traffic measures will be implemented: Traffic coming from Corniche El Mazraa toward Bashir Joumblatt Street will be prohibited and diverted from beneath the bridge toward the first detour. Traffic coming from the Mills Ramp toward Salim Salam will be prohibited and diverted toward the Barbir intersection – Badran Station. Traffic heading from the Sports City area toward Downtown Beirut will be diverted into the Salim Salam Tunnel. These works will result in a narrowing of the roadway at the work sites, and traffic will be restricted to a single lane. In this context, on 26-05-2026, the Jdeideh Traffic Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit issued two traffic violation reports against the owners of two pickup trucks that were transporting Baccalaureate Part II students in a manner that endangered their safety. The General Directorate also warns against dangerous practices, particularly organizing vehicle convoys, travelling in trucks and vehicles not designed for passenger transport, sitting on vehicle windows, emerging from sunroofs, and using fireworks. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to curb drug trafficking and distribution operations across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information regarding an unidentified individual involved in drug dealing in Mount Lebanon, particularly in the Metn area. Consequently, the specialized units of the Branch launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the suspect. Following investigations and inquiries, they succeeded in identifying him as: A. H. (born in 1998, Lebanese) On 23-05-2026, following a meticulous surveillance and monitoring operation, a patrol from the Information Branch caught him red-handed in the Dekwaneh area while he was distributing narcotics on board a gray “GR” motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle led to the seizure of: • 8 plastic containers marked “$100” containing cocaine • 3 paper packets marked “Foreign” containing cocaine • 5 plastic containers marked “net” containing cocaine • 25 plastic containers containing cocaine • One cannabis cigarette and a booklet of rolling papers During interrogation, he confessed to the charges brought against him. (born in 1972) filed a complaint stating that an unknown individual had stolen gold rings, a wristwatch, precious stones, amber bracelets, and a sum of money from him. The theft occurred after the suspect assisted him in booking a room at a hotel in the Maameltein area. The value of the stolen items was estimated at approximately USD 250,000. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces launched field and intelligence measures to identify and arrest the perpetrator. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying him as: A. A. (born in 1986, Lebanese) Following close surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the Branch arrested him in the town of Broummana while he was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee SUV, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the vehicle led to the seizure of a plastic container containing a substance believed to be the narcotic “crystal meth,” a glass pipe used for its consumption, and four mobile phones. His residence was also searched, but the stolen items were not found. During questioning, he admitted that he had met the complainant by chance and that the latter had asked him to secure a hotel room for him because he was intoxicated. After booking the room, he proceeded to steal his belongings. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority. The vehicle was also placed under judicial seizure upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was issued: On 03-06-2026, a ceremony was held at Major General Martyr Wissam Al Hassan Barracks in Dbayeh for the handover of a donation provided by the Delegation of the European Union, in coordination with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to the benefit of the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces and the General Directorate of Civil Defense. The donation included maritime equipment and gear and was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmad Al Hajjar, represented by the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdallah. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the European Union, Ms. Sandra De Waele; the UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Blerta Aliko; the representative of the Director General of Civil Defense, Mr. Ziad Chahine; Brigadier General Dr. Alfred Hanna, Head of the Staff Authority Unit; Brigadier General Jean Aouad, Commander of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit; Brigadier General Imad El Jammal, Commander of the Beirut Police Unit; Brigadier General Tony Matta, Commander of the Mobile Forces Unit; and a number of senior officers. The ceremony commenced with the Lebanese National Anthem and the European Union Anthem, followed by a welcoming speech delivered by Brigadier General Matta, who welcomed the attendees and praised the importance of the donation as a genuine commitment to strengthening the maritime capabilities of the Internal Security Forces. On this occasion, Major General Raed Abdallah, representing Minister of Interior and Municipalities Brigadier General Ahmad Al Hajjar, delivered a speech in which he thanked the European Union and the UNDP for the donation, emphasizing that it reflects the continuation of cooperation and support for Lebanese security institutions. He explained that the donation includes high-speed boats, jet skis, diving equipment, and specialized gear intended for several operational units of the Internal Security Forces, thereby enhancing their capabilities and operational effectiveness. He also commended the support provided to Civil Defense, given its role in strengthening rescue and emergency response capabilities. He pointed out that this donation contributes to enhancing operational readiness and efficiency, particularly within Lebanese territorial waters, thereby strengthening the ability to address security challenges and combat various forms of crime and violations. He further stressed that developing the operational capacities of the Internal Security Forces has a direct impact on the quality of security services provided to citizens and contributes to reinforcing public trust, despite all accompanying challenges and circumstances. It also raises the level of coordination and integration among the various concerned agencies, foremost among them the Lebanese Army and Civil Defense, in order to achieve the best possible results in confronting risks and common challenges. In her speech, Ambassador Sandra De Waele emphasized that the delivery of this equipment to the Internal Security Forces and Civil Defense aims to strengthen the capacity of Lebanese institutions to protect citizens, respond to emergencies, and save lives. She noted that the European Union, in cooperation with the UNDP, supports Lebanon by enhancing the capabilities of security institutions and first-response agencies. She explained that the donation includes diving equipment, boats, communication devices, and maritime response equipment for several units of the Internal Security Forces and Civil Defense, representing an investment exceeding USD 1.2 million. She further stressed that the effectiveness of search and rescue operations depends not only on equipment but also on cooperation, coordination, and information-sharing among the relevant institutions. She concluded by reaffirming the European Union’s continued support for Lebanon and its security institutions and expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, the Internal Security Forces, Civil Defense, and the UNDP for their cooperation and partnership. For her part, UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Blerta Aliko emphasized that current developments in Lebanon highlight the importance of preparedness and the role of national institutions and first responders in addressing crises, stressing the need to equip them with the necessary skills and resources. She indicated that the equipment provided through European Union support would strengthen maritime search and rescue capacities within the Internal Security Forces and Civil Defense, thereby helping save lives and ensure rapid response to incidents. B., born in 1976, Lebanese) reported that a group of unknown armed individuals entered his residence located in the Hamra area / Beirut, after threatening the building concierge with military weapons and restraining the domestic worker. They managed to steal an iron safe containing five luxury wristwatches estimated to be worth approximately USD /200,000/, before fleeing to an unknown destination. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence measures to identify and arrest those involved. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify a number of those involved, including: H. Z. D. (born in 1998, Lebanese) M. K. (born in 1976, Lebanese) A. A. H. (born in 1975, Lebanese) A. Y. (born in 2000, Palestinian) On 14 and 16-05-2026, following precise surveillance and monitoring operations, patrols from the Branch were able to arrest them in the areas of Bir Hassan, Tahwitat Al-Ghadir, and Jnah. During the investigation, they confessed to the charges attributed to them regarding their participation, along with others, in planning and carrying out the theft. They also stated that, after carrying out the operation, they went to the residence of the detainee (A. A. H.), where they examined the stolen watches. They then contacted his son, who resides in the United States of America and owns a jewelry and watch shop, and smuggled the watches to him. The detainee (M. K.) also confessed to keeping one of the stolen watches and selling it in the Barbir market for USD /2,300/. The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainees, and they were handed over to the competent authority upon the instruction of the competent judiciary. Efforts are still ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
