A person wanted for human trafficking, involved in the kidnapping of young men and demanding ransom from their families, was arrested by the Information Branch in a well-planned ambush in the town of Bbneen.

The Directorate General of the ISF, Public Relations Department, has published the following notification:

In the framework of the daily following up work carried out by the ISF, in order to pursue the wanted persons by the authorities, all over the Lebanese regions, specialized units have intensified their field efforts with the aim of localize and arrest them.

Further intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Department has succeeded to localize one of them, and he is wanted by virtue of a warrant of arrest, for crime of traffic of persons, and he is named:

(B. M born on 1993, Lebanese)

Also, it appears that he is a member of a gang that has kidnapped young men from the region of Bib nine further convincing them about the possibility of their smuggling in an illegal way across the sea, in order to demand further one a ransom from their parents in exchange of their liberation.

On 28-11-2024, and further a delicate tracking and control operation, one of the Department patrols has succeeded to arrest him by means of a well confiscated ambush.

We have taken the right legal measures against him, and he has been conducted to the concerned authorities upon its request.

The Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Bureau seizes smuggled cows and calves and arrests those involved.

The following statement was issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat various crimes throughout Lebanon and apprehend perpetrators, including those related to livestock smuggling into Lebanon, and as a result of investigations and inquiries conducted by the Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit, its officers were able, on January 7, 2026, to seize 22 head of calves and cows smuggled from Syria into Lebanon. This seizure took place in the town of Bhennin - Minieh, on a farm belonging to: - M.A. (born in 1984, Lebanese) - and his brother A.A. (born in 1991, Lebanese) Additionally, 20 head of calves and cows were seized on a livestock farm in the Dhour Bhennin area, belonging to: - A.A. (Born in 1975, Palestinian) - A.H. (Born in 1965, Lebanese) The necessary legal procedures were carried out against them, and the seized livestock was placed under judicial custody. Through follow-up investigations, the identities and locations of the cattle sellers were determined, and two of them were arrested: - M.M. (Born in 1989, Lebanese) - and his father, K.M. (Born in 1966, Lebanese) A search and investigation warrant was issued for a third seller, named: - B.M. (Born in 1975, Lebanese) Furthermore, on January 8, 2026, a patrol from the aforementioned office seized 57 dairy cows of Syrian origin in the Al-Tayro area of ​​Choueifat. The cows were found on a farm belonging to (G.H., born in 1974, Syrian), who is currently at large. A search warrant has been issued for his arrest. A judicial custodian has been appointed for the seized cows. Based on instructions from the Financial Public Prosecutor, the Animal Resources Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture was tasked with dispatching a veterinarian to examine the seized livestock and issue a medical report detailing their health status, upon which further action will be taken. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.

Within a short period, the Information Division arrested a person who stole money from inside a safe in one of the restaurants in Batroun.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division The following statement: On January 17, 2025, the manager of a restaurant in Batroun (A.L.B., born in 1983, Lebanese) reported that an unknown person had stolen approximately $4,932 from the restaurant's safe on the same date, without any signs of forced entry. Consequently, orders were given to the relevant units of the Internal Security Forces to conduct field and investigative procedures. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Division was able, within a short period, to identify the perpetrator, named: - A.B. (Born in 2000, Lebanese) On the same date, following a meticulous surveillance operation, a patrol from the division, within a few hours, successfully ambushed and arrested him in Halba. A search of his person yielded $3,858 USD and approximately 21 million Lebanese pounds. During interrogation, he confessed to the theft from the restaurant safe in Batroun. The necessary legal procedures were carried out, and he was handed over to the relevant authorities along with the seized items, as directed by the competent judicial body.

The Bekaa investigation unit seized two chicken warehouses in Saadnayel that violated food safety regulations and arrested ten people.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the ongoing monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces, particularly in the area of ​​food safety, on January 21, 2026, a force from the Bekaa Investigation Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, accompanied by a representative from the Ministry of Health, raided two chicken storage warehouses in the town of Saadnayel. It was found that the warehouses did not meet health and safety standards. According to the Ministry of Health report, serious and dangerous violations of health and safety standards were discovered, including: - Abnormal discoloration of the chicken. - Lack of necessary hygiene and refrigeration conditions, and leaving the chicken unrefrigerated for extended periods. As a result of the raid, ten people were arrested, nine of whom were Syrian nationals and one Lebanese. Two vans were also seized. The detainees and the seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings, and the two warehouses were sealed with red wax, as instructed by the competent judicial authority. Additionally, more than three tons of chicken that did not meet health standards were seized and destroyed by the Bekaa Investigation Unit at a landfill belonging to the Zahle municipality, in accordance with approved health standards and in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Health, as instructed by the competent judicial authority.

Following several professionally executed burglaries of homes in Tariq al-Jadida, the Information Division arrested the perpetrator in the Cola neighborhood.

As a result of intensive follow-up and investigations, the Information Division was able to fully identify the suspect. Accordingly, a well-planned ambush was executed in the Cola neighborhood, where, on January 12, 2026, an Information Division patrol arrested the individual known as: - F.M. (Born in 1991, Syrian) During questioning, he confessed to committing four burglaries in the Tariq al-Jdideh neighborhood, particularly in the vicinity of Beirut Arab University and the municipal stadium. The most recent burglary occurred on January 11, 2026. The value of the stolen items, consisting of gold jewelry, was estimated at approximately $60,000 USD. It was also revealed that he has a prior criminal record for theft and that his modus operandi involves breaking into homes and stealing jewelry. The necessary legal procedures were carried out against him, and the investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
