As part of the ongoing cooperation between the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, the European Union, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Ms. Sandra De Waele, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Lebanon, Ms. Blerta Aliko, visited the Antelias Police Station on July 15, 2026, in the presence of the Commander of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, Brigadier Jean Aouad. During the visit, they reviewed the rehabilitation works carried out at the station, one of three police stations being upgraded under a project funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP to strengthen the infrastructure and operational capabilities of the Internal Security Forces. On this occasion, several vehicles and a water tanker were also handed over to the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces to support its missions, particularly in southern Lebanon. This support is part of a project valued at more than US$3 million, which also aims to strengthen cooperation between the Internal Security Forces, municipalities, and local communities by supporting community policing initiatives. The project seeks to improve the security response, reinforce state institutions, and enhance security, stability, and Lebanon’s sustainable recovery process.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ daily efforts to combat drug trafficking and apprehend wanted persons throughout Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Intelligence Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie received information regarding an individual who was distributing narcotics while riding a GR motorcycle in the Sahraa Choueifat area. The unit immediately launched surveillance and monitoring operations and carried out a carefully planned ambush in the area, resulting in the arrest of the suspect, identified as: A. A. (born in 2001, Lebanese, according to his statements). A search led to the seizure of: 28 small packets containing narcotic substances bearing the “Coffee” logo. 31 small packets containing the substance known as “baz”, bearing the “Bear” logo. One small packet containing a narcotic substance bearing the “Crown” logo. Two imitation handguns with their magazines, unloaded. An amount of cash in Lebanese pounds and U.S. dollars. A mobile phone. A GR motorcycle with no registration plate. The suspect, along with the seized items and the motorcycle, was referred to the competent unit for the necessary legal proceedings in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The messages, written in English, falsely claim that the recipient has an outstanding traffic violation (such as speeding or illegal parking) and request payment through a link bearing the company’s name. The General Directorate emphasizes that both the messages and the accompanying link are fraudulent and are intended to steal citizens’ personal and banking information. Accordingly, the Directorate urges the public to: Do not click on the links contained in these messages. Do not enter any personal, financial, or bank card information. Do not forward or share these messages. Verify any request for payment or services directly with the relevant organization through its official communication channels only. The General Directorate also urges citizens to report any attempted online fraud or suspicious messages through the “Balligh” platform available on the Internal Security Forces’ official website or to the competent judicial authorities, in order to assist in identifying those responsible and protecting the public from these fraudulent schemes.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: On July 8, 2026, a suspect arrested on charges of robbery and impersonating a State Security officer was referred to the Jdeideh Judicial Detachment. He is identified as: A. M. (born in 2005, Syrian national). At the time of his arrest, officers seized a handheld radio and a shirt bearing the words “State Security” on both the front and back. During questioning by the Jdeideh Judicial Detachment, the suspect admitted that he had taken a sum of money from a Syrian national under the pretext that the victim did not possess a valid residence permit. The incident occurred in the Naqqach area, where he deceived the victim into believing that he was a State Security officer by wearing the above-mentioned shirt. He was riding an unregistered red V180 motorcycle. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: On July 1, 2026, following ongoing investigations, the Information Branch arrested: K. H. (born in 1993, Syrian national). The suspect is accused of blackmailing several young women. He allegedly met them through a dating application, communicated with them via video calls, and persuaded them to send him personal photographs or obtained such images through other means. He then blackmailed them by threatening to publish the images unless they complied with his demands. Accordingly, and upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces is circulating his photograph and requests that any women who have fallen victim to his actions and recognize him report to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Morality Protection Bureau, or contact 01-423780, in order to facilitate the necessary legal proceedings. The General Directorate also stresses the importance of exercising caution and awareness when using social media and online platforms. It advises the public not to share inappropriate photographs or personal information with anyone, especially material that could be exploited unlawfully, in order to protect their privacy and avoid becoming victims of blackmail or exploitation. The Directorate further reminds the public that cyber extortion is a criminal offense punishable by law. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts of the Internal Security Forces to track down and arrest wanted persons and perpetrators of various crimes throughout Lebanon, the Baabda Judicial Detachment arrested: S. A. A. (born in 1975, Lebanese). The suspect is wanted under two arrest warrants for fraud, five apprehension warrants, two enforceable court judgments, and one wanted notice for forgery. Investigations revealed that, together with several accomplices, he forged property ownership deeds, identity cards, and powers of attorney. These forged documents were then used to execute notarized powers of attorney before public notaries, after which the properties were mortgaged to several individuals. Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ daily efforts to combat all forms of crime, particularly human trafficking and prostitution-related offenses, and based on information received by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Morality Protection Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit from the Saadiyat Police Station regarding immoral activities taking place inside two hotels in Jadra, Chouf, officers from the Bureau launched extensive investigations. Following these investigations, a Bureau task force raided the two hotels and arrested 18 individuals, including the owners of one of the hotels, employees, customers, and women of Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian, and Jordanian nationalities. Four women were caught in the act engaging in prostitution with several customers. Officers also seized mobile phones, cash, three Syrian identity cards, and a digital video recorder (DVR) used for the hotels’ surveillance cameras. During questioning, the women admitted to engaging in prostitution inside the two hotels. The owners of one of the hotels confessed that they were aware of these activities and had rented rooms for that purpose. The women also stated that their activities had been facilitated by L. D., known as “Umm Ali,” while the hotel receptionist admitted that he was aware of the activities taking place on the premises. All detainees underwent drug screening tests. Eight individuals tested positive and were subsequently referred to the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau. Both hotels were sealed by judicial order, seven reports were filed against several of the women for illegally entering Lebanon, and five wanted notices were issued against suspects who remain at large. The seized items were handed over to the competent authority, and efforts continue to apprehend the remaining suspects in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ daily efforts to combat vehicle theft across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch received information on July 1, 2026, that an unidentified individual was offering a Suzuki Vitara SUV, olive in color, for sale at an unusually attractive price in the Tariq El Jdideh area of Beirut. Further investigation revealed that, on the same day, a theft report had been filed for a vehicle matching the same make, model, and specifications, which had been stolen from the Achrafieh area. The Branch’s specialized units immediately launched field investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts to locate the vehicle, identify the suspect, arrest him, and recover the stolen vehicle. Following extensive investigations, officers identified the suspect as: A. B. (born in 2000, Syrian national). Later that same day, following a carefully planned surveillance operation, one of the Information Branch’s patrols arrested him in the Tariq El Jdideh area, recovered the stolen vehicle, and completed the operation in less than 24 hours. During questioning, the suspect confessed to stealing the vehicle earlier that same morning from the Achrafieh area. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the recovered vehicle, to the competent authority in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

R. (born in 1994, Syrian national) on June 30, 2026. Investigations revealed that he currently serves as the General Security Emir of the so-called “South Province” and “Central Province” in Syria, both affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS. Preliminary investigations also showed that he had held several leadership positions within the organization before assuming the role of General Security Emir for the two aforementioned provinces. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing the organization’s security activities and operations in both provinces, in coordination with officials and emirs in ISIS’s other provinces across Syria. (born in 1986, Lebanese) was admitted to a hospital in Halba after sustaining a gunshot wound to the abdomen from a hunting rifle. She later succumbed to her injuries. Immediately after the incident, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces launched field investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts to uncover the circumstances of the homicide, identify the perpetrator, and bring him to justice. Following intensive investigations, the Information Branch identified the victim’s husband as the prime suspect. He is: K. M. (born in 1974, Lebanese). Later that same day, following a carefully planned surveillance operation, one of the Branch’s patrols located the suspect’s hiding place in the town of Akkar Al-Atika. Less than one hour after the crime had been committed, officers ambushed and arrested him. During questioning, he confessed to the crime, admitting that he had shot his wife following a family dispute, causing her death. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent judicial authority in accordance with its instructions.

(born in 1991, Lebanese) and Q. M. (born in 1994, Lebanese) as a result of previous family disputes. During the incident, Q. M. fired a handgun at W. M., striking his vehicle with several rounds before fleeing to an unknown location. A video documenting the incident later circulated widely on social media. Immediately following the incident, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces were instructed to launch field investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts to locate and apprehend the shooter. As a result of these investigations, the Information Branch identified the suspect’s whereabouts in the Chatila area. On June 29, 2026, following a carefully planned surveillance operation, one of the Branch’s patrols arrested him in the aforementioned area. Officers also seized a handgun, one magazine, and 13 rounds of live ammunition in his possession. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
