An individual involved in a house burglary in Bouchrieh falls into the hands of the Information Division

As part of the continuous efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces units to combat crimes and arrest perpetrators across Lebanese territory:

On 14/05/2026, an unknown individual entered the residence of a citizen located in the Bouchrieh area without breaking or forcing entry, stole approximately USD 11,000 and jewelry from inside the house, then fled to an unknown destination.

Immediately, the Information Division launched field and intelligence procedures to identify and arrest the perpetrator. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the suspect’s identity was identified within hours as:

  • D. W. (born in 2007, Syrian)

Following precise surveillance and monitoring operations, and in less than 24 hours, one of the Branch’s patrols succeeded in arresting him in the Bourj Hammoud area.

A search conducted on him led to the seizure of two military pistols with three magazines and ten live rounds, in addition to a mobile phone and an amount of money.

During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him, admitting that he had entered the aforementioned house using a copied key that he had duplicated in preparation for carrying out the theft. He also admitted purchasing the seized pistols using part of the stolen money and paying an amount of money in order to obtain a weapons carry permit.

The stolen items were recovered and returned to their owner.

The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, along with the seized items, was referred to the competent authority based on the instructions of the judiciary.

The Information Branch arrests the mastermind behind a gang responsible for burglarizing homes and commercial stores in Abbassiyeh and surrounding areas.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: As part of the daily efforts carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information regarding unknown individuals carrying out theft operations from homes and commercial stores in the Abbassiyeh area and neighboring regions, taking advantage of the displacement of residents and shop owners caused by the Israeli attacks. Accordingly, the competent units within the Branch intensified their field and intelligence efforts to identify and arrest those involved in the aforementioned thefts. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the identities of the suspects were identified, including the mastermind behind the gang: H. H. (born in 1982, Lebanese), with a criminal record in theft-related cases. On 19/05/2026, following precise surveillance and monitoring operations, one of the Branch’s patrols managed to arrest him in the city of Saida. During interrogation, he confessed to participating, alongside another individual, in numerous theft operations targeting residential homes — including luxury residences — as well as commercial stores whose owners had fled due to the Israeli attacks. These thefts took place in the towns of Abbassiyeh, Toura, Qadmous, and the Abbassiyeh junction, in addition to stealing a motorcycle in the Qadmous area. He also admitted that his accomplice was responsible for selling the stolen goods in Saida and Sabra. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority based on the instructions of the competent judiciary. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the second suspect.

Circulation of USD 275,000 in counterfeit currency in Hamra… and the Beirut Investigation Division arrests two individuals.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: On 20/05/2026, in the Hamra area, a patrol from the Beirut Investigation Division of the Beirut Police Unit arrested: J. R. (born in 1974, Lebanese) D. R. (born in 1995, Lebanese) on suspicion of involvement in circulating counterfeit currency. A search conducted on them led to the seizure of USD 274,900 in counterfeit one-hundred-dollar bills, in addition to USD 600 in genuine currency suspected of being used for camouflage purposes. The suspects, along with the seized items, were handed over to the competent police station in order to take the necessary legal measures against them, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

The Anti-Terrorism and Major Crimes Office in the North arrests three individuals wanted by the judiciary for arms trafficking, fraud, and theft crimes.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: As part of the continuous efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat all types of crimes across various regions and arrest individuals wanted by the judiciary, the Anti-Terrorism and Major Crimes Office in the North of the Judicial Police Unit succeeded, on 14 and 15/05/2026, in arresting three wanted individuals in Bab Al-Ramel – Tripoli, Abdé – Akkar, and Dahr Al-Ain – Koura. They are: R. K. (born in 1979, Lebanese), wanted under an arrest warrant for trafficking military weapons W. B. (born in 1979, Lebanese), wanted under two arrest warrants for fraud M. S. (born in 1992, Lebanese), wanted under three arrest warrants for theft The necessary legal measures were taken against them based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

Three women carried out a fraudulent scheme and stole gold jewelry and cash worth USD 85,000, while the Information Branch identified and arrested them in the Sabra area.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: On 03/05/2026, the woman identified as M. M. (born in 1956, Lebanese displaced person) filed a complaint stating that while she was inside a clothing store in the Ketermaya area, two unknown women fraudulently stole gold jewelry estimated at approximately USD 80,000, in addition to USD 5,000 in cash from inside her handbag, before fleeing to an unknown destination. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces launched field and intelligence procedures to identify and arrest the women involved in the theft. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch succeeded in identifying them as: M. H. H. (born in 1995, Syrian Palestinian) F. J. (born in 1973, unregistered) H. A. (born in 1983, unregistered) On 05/05/2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch’s patrols managed to arrest them in the Sabra area. During interrogation, they confessed to carrying out the aforementioned theft and to hiding the stolen items inside the home of a relative of one of them. They also admitted committing several similar thefts in the cities of Beirut and Saida. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authority based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.
