On the occasion of the 165th Anniversary of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdallah issues the General Order: “Public Trust is a Responsibility… and Serving the Nation is a Mission.”

As we mark the 165th anniversary of the Internal Security Forces, this venerable institution remains immortal through its martyrs, steadfast through its personnel, committed to its responsibilities, and confident in its capabilities. Officers, NCOs, and Personnel, The greatest promise we can make to our nation today is our commitment to continue fulfilling our national mission amid the delicate circumstances and diverse challenges that require us all to remain fully prepared, with greater vigilance and determination, to carry out the mission we have pledged ourselves to uphold—a mission that constitutes a cornerstone of the nation’s strength, development, and progress. Security is not merely a matter of history and achievements, nor simply the remembrance of past efforts. It is a daily sacrifice and a continuous renewal of commitment to responsibility, in accordance with the duties of our profession and our national values. I know that you have always remained true to this commitment, as demonstrated by your loyalty, dedication, and perseverance throughout the harshest circumstances faced by this institution and by Lebanon. You have proven your ability to adapt to these difficult conditions, together with your families who have supported you, enabling you to balance your professional responsibilities and personal lives with determination and resolve. This is because you believe in yourselves, in your duties, and in this institution and its mission. Such devotion can only stem from dedication and sincerity in the performance of duty. Colleagues, The responsibilities placed upon us continue to grow day after day, in light of the security, political, economic, and social transformations taking place around the world, as well as the rapid technological developments we are witnessing. Consequently, it is our duty to maintain the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, and respect for the law, while strengthening trust with society and the people through cooperation and partnership, based on the principle of a shared destiny and under the motto: “Together Towards a Safer Society.” This is especially important amid the successive crises affecting our nation, including the deteriorating economic situation, the security challenges resulting from aggression against our homeland, and the social repercussions of forced displacement. These circumstances affect the entire country and impact all units and offices of the Internal Security Forces without exception. Our strength therefore lies in applying the law, respecting human rights, and upholding the ethical and humanitarian values for which we are known. I would add the importance of fostering a spirit of solidarity that strengthens the institution and reinforces public confidence through unity and complementary roles. In today’s world, successful security is the result of collective efforts and a comprehensive vision capable of anticipating and containing threats. Security Personnel—Officers, NCOs, and Personnel, Women and Men, Let us continue to uphold our commitment to sacrifice and responsibility despite the burdens and pressures that affect us all. The people and the nation have the right to live in security every day, beyond any other consideration. Be worthy of these hopes, and know that your efforts are recognized and appreciated across all positions and missions. On this anniversary, we remember with the utmost respect and gratitude our righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the nation and the security of its people. They have been and will remain a beacon reflecting loyalty, sacrifice, honor, and dedication in the performance of duty. They deserve our deepest appreciation, and their families deserve our unwavering support. The coming phase requires us to remain committed to the values of integrity, competence, and transparency, while continuing to develop our capabilities and skills and keeping pace with new developments in ways that enhance our readiness and effectiveness. This is our pledge as we commemorate the founding of the Internal Security Forces, an institution whose ability to serve as an exemplary security organization is grounded in its national and moral principles. I renew my confidence in you and in your ability to continue carrying out your mission with courage and dedication. Let us remain faithful to our oath, loyal to our mission, and steadfast in the face of challenges, no matter how difficult they may become. Long live the Internal Security Forces, and long live Lebanon. Director General of the Internal Security Forces
