He concealed narcotics in a sophisticated manner and attempted to smuggle them to his brother, an inmate at Qobbeh Prison. The Information Branch arrested him and an accomplice, thwarting the plan.

The following communiqué was issued:

As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat crime across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch received information on 09-06-2026 regarding preparations to smuggle a quantity of narcotics into an inmate at Qobbeh Prison in Tripoli.

As a result of field investigations, inquiries, and intelligence-gathering operations conducted by the Branch, it was established that on the same date, an individual accompanied by another person would visit the prison in order to deliver personal belongings to his incarcerated brother. They were identified as:

M. A. (born in 1999, Lebanese) – the inmate’s brother

K. Sh. (born in 1999, Lebanese)

On the same day, following close surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the Information Branch arrested both individuals in the Qobbeh area before they entered the prison facility. They were found carrying a bag containing clothing.

Upon searching the bag, officers discovered a quantity of hashish professionally concealed inside the waistbands of three pairs of trousers.

The suspects and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority for the necessary legal proceedings, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

He stole money belonging to the company he works for and falsely claimed he had been robbed at gunpoint: Dahr el-Baidar Police Station exposes his false claim, arrests him, and recovers the money.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 19 August 2026, A. A. (born in 1989, Lebanese national) reported to Dahr el-Baidar Police Station that he had been robbed of US$8,000 belonging to the medical equipment company he works for in the Bwarej area. Following an investigation conducted by Dahr el-Baidar Police Station, it was established that no robbery had taken place. When confronted with the information and evidence gathered, he admitted that he had stolen the money himself and hidden it at his home in Hammana, before reporting a false robbery to the police in an attempt to cover up the theft. A patrol from Dahr el-Baidar Police Station proceeded to Hammana and searched his residence, where the full amount of the stolen money was recovered. He was arrested pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, and the entire amount was returned to the owner of the company.

Two minors who stole gas cylinders, bicycles, and sums of money from homes in Salima – Baabda were arrested by the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information about two individuals suspected of stealing sums of money, bicycles, and gas cylinders from several homes in the Salima – Baabda area. Following extensive investigations and close monitoring, a patrol from the Detachment arrested the two suspects in the aforementioned area while they were riding a white motorcycle without a license plate. Both suspects were found to be minors. They were identified as: A. A. (born in 2010, Syrian national); W. F. (born in 2009, Lebanese national). The two detained minors and the motorcycle were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Information Branch uncovers a gang involved in breaking into and burglarizing homes and commercial establishments and arrests two of its members.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Information Branch obtained information about a gang involved in burglaries targeting homes and commercial establishments by breaking and entering in several areas of the Mount Lebanon Governorate. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the gang members. Extensive investigations revealed that the gang members used a Kia Picanto to carry out their burglaries. The Branch also succeeded in identifying several members of the gang, including: J. A. (born in 1986, Syrian national) J. M. (born in 1988, Syrian national). On 5 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested the first suspect in the Sehayleh area. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him. He confessed that, in coordination with the second suspect and accompanied by another individual who remains at large, he had carried out numerous break-ins and burglaries targeting offices and commercial establishments in several areas of the Mount Lebanon Governorate, particularly in Metn and Kesrouan, including Jdeideh and Zouk Mosbeh. It was also established that he had entered Lebanon illegally. The second suspect also admitted to the allegations against him and acknowledged that he had agreed with the first suspect to receive a sum of money in exchange for participating in the burglaries. The mobile phone he used to coordinate with the first suspect was also seized. The necessary legal measures were taken against both detainees. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the burglaries.

Wanted under several judicial warrants for motorcycle theft… the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment arrests him in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by specialized Internal Security Forces units to track down and apprehend perpetrators of crimes across Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information regarding the whereabouts of an individual suspected of carrying out several motorcycle thefts in various areas of Beirut’s southern suburbs. Following investigative efforts, a patrol from the Detachment succeeded in arresting him on 3 August 2026 in the Al-Qaem area of Beirut’s southern suburbs. He was identified as: M. T. (born in 1993, Lebanese national), who is wanted by the judiciary under several judicial warrants. A search of the suspect revealed tools used in thefts in his possession. The detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
