The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Information Branch’s daily efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution throughout Lebanon, intelligence was obtained indicating that two unidentified individuals were storing narcotic drugs in an apartment in the Jnah area and distributing them. Based on this information, the competent units of the Information Branch were tasked with conducting field operations and investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects. The investigation led to the identification of the apartment they were using in Jnah, and the suspects were identified as: M.K. (born in 2003, Syrian); M.A. (born in 1986, Syrian), who is the subject of a final court judgment for theft. On 7 July 2026, following close surveillance, a special unit from the Information Branch raided the apartment and arrested both suspects inside. A search of the suspects and the apartment resulted in the seizure of: one plastic container holding approximately 10.9 kg of a white substance; 13 plastic capsules containing a white substance, weighing approximately 4 g each; 14 plastic capsules containing a white granular substance, weighing approximately 4 g each; 15 plastic capsules marked “2”, containing a white substance, weighing approximately 6 g each; 14 plastic capsules marked “5”, containing a white substance, weighing approximately 9 g each; one bag containing approximately 8 g of cannabis; 20 Tramadol tablets; two bags containing 16 colored narcotic tablets; 4 empty plastic capsules marked “kok,” “2,” or “5”; 4 mobile phones, an amount of cash, a booklet of rolling papers, and a bag containing colored plastic straws; one unregistered pink motorcycle. During questioning, the first suspect admitted that he had been distributing narcotics on behalf of another individual, while the second suspect also confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, and they, together with the seized items, were referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

The Information Branch disrupts a drug dealer’s activities and arrests him in the act in Ouzai.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that an unidentified individual was dealing narcotic drugs in the Mount Lebanon area. Following extensive investigations and intelligence-gathering, the branch identified the suspect as: A.A.M. (born in 1994, Lebanese), who is the subject of two arrest warrants for armed robbery and fraud. On 7 July 2026, following close surveillance, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in the act in the Ouzai area while he was selling narcotics from an unregistered black GR motorcycle, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: 24 plastic capsules containing a white rock-like substance, weighing approximately 5 grams each; 96 plastic capsules containing a white rock-like substance, weighing approximately 4 grams each; 30 plastic capsules containing a white substance, weighing approximately 12 grams each; 10 plastic capsules marked “A1”, containing a white substance, weighing approximately 5 grams each; 5 plastic capsules marked “A2”, containing a white substance, weighing approximately 5 grams each; one booklet of rolling papers; one mobile phone; an amount of cash. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him, admitting that he had been dealing narcotics in the Mount Lebanon area. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

Caught in the act, two drug dealers were arrested by the Information Branch—one in Dekouaneh and the other in Bourj Hammoud—with various narcotic substances seized.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that an unidentified individual was dealing narcotic drugs in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, particularly in the Metn area. Based on this information, the competent units within the Information Branch were instructed to carry out field operations and investigative measures to identify and apprehend the dealer. The investigations identified him as: A.A.J. (born in 2004, Syrian). On 4 July 2026, following close surveillance, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in the act while he was selling narcotics in Bourj Hammoud. A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of: 4 plastic caps containing cocaine base; one mobile phone; an amount of cash. In a separate operation, on 29 June 2026, an Information Branch patrol arrested another suspect in the act while he was dealing narcotics in Dekouaneh aboard a blue Landy motorcycle, which was seized. He was identified as: M.Z. (born in 2008, Lebanese). A search of the suspect and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: one military handgun with an empty magazine; 24 plastic caps containing cocaine; 9 bags, each containing a plastic cap filled with cocaine; 9 bags, each containing a small plastic cap filled with cocaine base; 3 bags, each containing a plastic cap marked “A” and filled with cocaine base; 11 bags, each containing a paper envelope filled with cocaine; 7 bags containing cannabis; two mobile phones; an amount of cash. During questioning, both suspects confessed to the offenses attributed to them. The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, and they, together with the seized items, were referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

Traffic Measures Tomorrow, Tuesday, on the Zouk Mosbeh Highway at the Junction Leading to the Coastal Road Due to the Installation of Raised Pavement Markers (Cat’s Eyes) and a Traffic Delineator Post.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, the Safe Roads Association will carry out the installation of raised pavement markers (Cat’s Eyes) and a traffic delineator post at the front of the median barrier on the Zouk Mosbeh Highway, at the junction leading to the coastal road. The work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue until completion on the same day. The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces urges motorists to take note of these works, comply with the instructions of the Internal Security Forces personnel assigned to the operation, and follow the posted traffic signs to help prevent traffic congestion.

Beirut Traffic Company continues its traffic enforcement campaign: 1,986 motorcycles and 231 vehicles impounded, with 11,085 traffic citations issued.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety, and pursuant to a decision by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, to intensify enforcement against traffic violations in the city of Beirut and combat illegal practices—particularly those committed by motorcycle riders—the Beirut Traffic Company, part of the Beirut Police Unit, has continued its field enforcement campaign across the capital. Through a series of fixed and temporary checkpoints, officers impounded 1,986 motorcycles and 231 vehicles found to be in violation, and issued 11,085 traffic citations during the period from 1 July to 18 July 2026. The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces reaffirms its commitment to continuing the enforcement of traffic laws and urges citizens to regularize the legal status of their vehicles and comply with applicable laws and regulations in order to safeguard public safety.

Following close surveillance, the Information Branch arrested a murder suspect in Hay El Sellom and seized a military firearm in his possession.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary across Lebanon, the specialized units of the Information Branch, following extensive field operations and intelligence gathering, succeeded in locating a suspect wanted for the murder of a Syrian woman in Hay El Sellom on 11 October 2024. He was identified as: H.A. (born in 2002, Lebanese), who is wanted pursuant to an arrest warrant for murder and a final court judgment for unlawful discharge of a firearm. On 6 July 2026, following close surveillance, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in a carefully planned ambush in Hay El Sellom while he was riding an unregistered white motorcycle, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of: a military handgun with a magazine; 16 live rounds of ammunition; a handgun holster and a fabric belt; a silver-colored chain; personal identification documents belonging to his brother; a mobile phone; an amount of cash. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

Zgharta Traffic Unit arrests two suspects involved in forging Syrian driver’s licenses.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 14 July 2026, the Zgharta Traffic Unit, part of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, received information about a network involved in forging Syrian driver’s licenses and distributing them to Syrian nationals residing in Lebanon. Following the information received, the unit launched an investigation and arrested the Syrian national: D.M.J. (born in 2006), who was found in possession of a Syrian driver’s license that was determined to be forged. During questioning, he admitted obtaining the license from: L.S. (born in 1971, Lebanese), in exchange for US$70, after sending her via WhatsApp a copy of his individual civil registry extract, a copy of his father’s identity card, and his blood type, with the aim of facilitating his movement and passage through security checkpoints. Further investigation led officers to lure the female suspect to a designated location, where she was arrested. She admitted supplying the driver’s license to the suspect and stated that she had been communicating with a Syrian individual named Ibrahim (full identity unknown), who was responsible for obtaining the licenses. She explained that she would leave the required documents at a prearranged location and later collect the driver’s licenses. She also admitted to obtaining more than 20 driver’s licenses for Syrian nationals in Lebanon in exchange for US$25 per license, claiming that she was unaware they were forged. The two suspects, together with the seized evidence, were referred to the Tripoli Judicial Investigation Unit of the Judicial Police for the necessary legal proceedings, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority. Investigations remain ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

Arrested for fraud in the aluminum maintenance sector: Were you one of his victims?

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 16 July 2026, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit arrested: A.F. (born in 1989, Lebanese), on charges of fraud, obtaining money by deception, and theft. The suspect worked as an aluminum maintenance technician. He collected money from customers on the pretext of carrying out maintenance work, then diverted the funds into stock market trading without performing the agreed work or returning the money to its owners. Accordingly, and pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces is releasing his photograph and urges anyone who has fallen victim to his fraudulent activities and recognizes him to contact the Bir Hassan Police Station, within the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, at 01-858473, in order to initiate the necessary legal procedures.

Information Branch identifies and arrests in Hazmieh a suspect involved in facilitating prostitution and human trafficking.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all forms of crime throughout Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that an unidentified individual was facilitating prostitution and engaging in human trafficking activities in the Mount Lebanon Governorate. Based on this information, the competent units within the Information Branch were instructed to carry out field operations and investigative measures to identify and apprehend the suspect. As a result of the investigations, he was identified as: M.S. (born in 1987, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for facilitating prostitution and is the subject of two outstanding arrest warrants for facilitating prostitution and human trafficking offenses. On 2 July 2026, following close surveillance, a special unit of the Information Branch arrested him in Hazmieh while he was driving a white Nissan Sunny, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a leather wallet containing personal documents and two mobile phones. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the offenses attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent prosecutor.

The Beirut Central Police Station solves the theft of US$10,000 from a hotel concierge’s room in Beirut and arrests the suspect.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 9 July 2026, the Beirut Central Police Station, part of the Beirut Police Unit, received a phone call from a Syrian national reporting that, while working as a concierge in a building belonging to a hotel located on the Beirut Central District waterfront, he discovered that his room had been broken into. A total of US$10,100 had been stolen. A police patrol immediately proceeded to the scene. After taking the complainant’s statement, officers found a number of workers inside the building and escorted them to the police station for questioning. During questioning, the following individual: M.Y. (born in 2008, Syrian), confessed to stealing the aforementioned amount, stating that most of the money was at his residence in the Gemmayzeh area. Accordingly, the patrol accompanied him to his residence, where officers recovered US$9,600 from his room, part of the stolen amount. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
