In carefully planned ambushes, the Information Branch arrests two wanted individuals in Saadiyat and Hadath for murder, drug-related offences, and assaulting military personnel.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:

1- As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend individuals wanted by the judiciary, and following field and intelligence operations, the Information Branch succeeded in locating an individual wanted for drug-related offences in the Saadiyat area. He was identified as:

  • N. M. (born in 1993, Palestinian national),

who is wanted under four arrest warrants for drug-related offences.

On 8 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the aforementioned area in a carefully planned ambush, while he was riding a green motorcycle without license plates, which was seized.

A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a quantity of hashish.

2- In a separate operation, following close surveillance and monitoring, the Branch succeeded in locating another wanted individual in Hadath – Baabda. He was identified as:

  • A. A. Z. (born in 2004, Lebanese national),

who has a criminal record for theft and shooting offences and is wanted under five judicial warrants for murder, drug-related offences, and assaulting military personnel.

On 13 August 2026, a Branch patrol arrested him in the same area while he was riding a black motorcycle without license plates, which was seized.

A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of a handgun with three magazines and 44 live rounds of ammunition.

The necessary legal measures were taken against both detainees, and they were handed over to the competent units pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Traffic measures on 29 and 30 August 2026 from the Al-Mahdi Schools intersection toward Rafic Hariri International Airport due to asphalt milling works.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A contracting company will carry out road rehabilitation and paving works along the road extending from the Al-Marامل downhill section, at the Al-Mahdi Schools intersection, toward Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport. The first phase of the project will involve milling the existing asphalt layer on Saturday and Sunday, 29 and 30 August 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The works will begin at the Al-Mahdi Schools Bridge and proceed toward the intersection leading to Al-Ahed Stadium. The road will remain open to traffic, as work will be carried out on one lane only. Citizens are kindly requested to take note and comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the traffic signs installed at the site, in order to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.

Traffic measures on 29 and 30 August 2026 in the Salim Salam and Cola areas due to road-marking works.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: A contracting company will carry out road-marking works according to the following phases: Phase One: From the Salim Salam downhill section, in front of Look In stores, to the intersection with the new diversion. Phase Two: From Al-Zawiya Restaurant to Cola – van parking area. The works will be carried out on Saturday and Sunday, 29 and 30 August 2026, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. These works will require the closure of traffic coming from the Salim Salam Tunnel toward the diversion. Traffic will be redirected right toward Mazraa Street, then left toward Patriarch Ephrem Barsoum Street, continuing to Corniche el-Mazraa. Citizens are kindly requested to take note and comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the traffic signs installed at the site, in order to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.

He stole from the company he had been guarding in several stages… the Information Branch identifies and arrests him.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Information Branch obtained information about unidentified individuals who, using a black Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, broke into the warehouses of a company in Deichounieh and stole large quantities of alcoholic beverages, meat, and food products, with an estimated value of approximately US$100,000. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend those involved. Investigations revealed that the theft had been carried out in several stages on different dates. The Branch also succeeded in identifying the perpetrators, including the alleged mastermind, who had worked as a security guard at the company for ten years and owned the vehicle used in the theft. He was identified as: Kh. H. (born in 1998, Syrian national). On 11 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested him in the Tabarja area while he was aboard the same vehicle, which was seized. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him and confessed to carrying out the theft in three stages, in collaboration with other individuals. He also stated that he had worked as a security guard at the company for more than ten years and was familiar with its layout, entrances, and exits. He further admitted to selling the stolen goods to a Syrian national involved in smuggling goods into Syrian territory. The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainee, who was referred, together with the seized vehicle, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

They were stealing motorcycles in Haret el-Naameh… the Information Branch identifies and arrests them.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat motorcycle thefts across Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained information about two unidentified individuals involved in motorcycle thefts in the Haret el-Naameh area, the most recent of which occurred on 11 August 2026. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the two suspects. Investigations led to their identification as: A. A. (born in 2004, Lebanese national); S. D. F. (born in 2005, Palestinian national). On 13 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested both suspects in the Haret el-Naameh area. A search of the suspects resulted in the seizure of two utility knives, a booklet of rolling papers, and a quantity of hashish. During questioning, both suspects admitted to the allegations against them and confessed to carrying out several motorcycle thefts in Haret el-Naameh. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority pursuant to judicial instructions.
