The mastermind of an armed motorcycle-robbery gang, responsible for more than 100 thefts, was arrested by the Information Division in a high-level operation in the southern suburb.

As part of the daily follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces units to limit armed robberies in various Lebanese regions, the Information Division received intelligence about a gang carrying out armed motorcycle thefts in several areas of the Mount Lebanon and Beirut governorates.

Accordingly, the specialized units within the division began field and intelligence operations to identify the gang members and arrest them.

As a result of investigations and surveillance, they succeeded in identifying the suspects, including the mastermind:

  • B. M. (born in 2006, unregistered), who has a criminal record for robbery and several judicial warrants issued against him.

On 29-10-2025, after precise monitoring, one of the division’s patrols managed to arrest him in the southern suburb while he was riding a blue G R motorcycle without a license plate. The motorcycle was seized, along with a handgun found in his possession.

He confessed to his criminal activity involving motorcycle thefts and stated that, together with another individual, he carried out more than one hundred armed motorcycle robberies in the following areas: Jounieh, Kaslik, Sports City, Mar Elias, UNESCO Roundabout, Dora, Ramleh Al-Bayda, and Costa Brava. He also admitted that they used to sell the stolen motorcycles to a person in the Shatila camp and split the proceeds, and that the handgun seized was used in the robberies. He further confessed to drug use.

The necessary legal procedures were taken against him, and he, along with the seized items, was handed over to the competent authority upon the direction of the relevant judiciary. Efforts are ongoing to arrest his accomplice.

Brigadier General Moussa Karnib honors First Sergeant Nadia Nasser for caring for an infant at the airport after the child’s mother was transferred to a hospital due to a health emergency.

Based on the directives of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdallah, the Commander of the Embassy, Administrations and Public Institutions Security Unit, Brigadier General Moussa Karnib, honored one of the Airport Inspection Unit’s non-commissioned officers, First Sergeant Nadia Nasser, in the presence of the Commander of the Airport Inspection Platoon, Colonel Ali Hamoush. On 02/02/2026, First Sergeant Nasser took the initiative to care for an infant girl after the child’s mother lost consciousness within the premises of Rafic Hariri International Airport, where she was transferred to a hospital to receive treatment. Several social media platforms circulated photos of the aforementioned First Sergeant while she was caring for the infant. It is worth noting that the infant remained under the care of First Sergeant Nasser throughout the entire period during which the mother stayed in the hospital, until she regained consciousness and became able to care for her daughter once again. Brigadier General Karnib, on behalf of the Director General, praised the humanitarian initiative undertaken by First Sergeant Nasser, commended her dedication and humanitarian spirit, and presented her with a “written commendation from the Unit Commander” as a token of appreciation and gratitude for this honorable ethical and humanitarian conduct.

They were dealing drugs in Choueifat and Zouq Mosbeh; the Investigation detachment arrests them and seizes a quantity of narcotics.

On 22/01/2026, following surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the unit arrested him while riding a motorcycle near the Gandour Factory in Choueifat. It was found that his name is: A. N. (born in 2002, Lebanese) Upon searching him and the motorcycle, the following items were seized in his possession: A small container containing a white substance wrapped in nylon, bearing a dolphin imprint Approximately USD 3,900 in cash of various denominations, LBP 5,700,000, four counterfeit banknotes of USD 100 each, and a mobile phone

He broke into a house and stole a sum of money; the Information Division arrests him.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement was released: As part of the daily follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat crimes of all kinds, particularly robbery and theft, and to identify and arrest those involved. On 29/1/2026, a female citizen was subjected to a robbery involving a sum of money, after an unknown person broke into her home in the Khreibet al-Jundi area – Akkar. Immediately, the Information division began its field and intelligence procedures to identify the perpetrator. As a result of technical follow-up, his identity was revealed as: W. H. (born in 1981, Lebanese) On 2/2/2026, following careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested him in the Houshb area – Akkar. During the investigation, he confessed to the acts attributed to him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority based on the directive of the competent judiciary.

The Bekaa investigation unit arrested the owner of a ready-made peeled potato factory and sealed the factory with red wax for violating food safety standards.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the ongoing monitoring conducted by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to address various violations throughout Lebanon and apprehend perpetrators, including those related to food safety, On February 2, 2026, a force from the Bekaa Investigation Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Health, raided a factory in the Qab Elias plain that was selling garlic and peeled, ready-to-eat potatoes. The inspection revealed that the factory was unlicensed and did not meet health standards. It was using water of unknown origin and processing garlic and potatoes (soaking, peeling, and cutting) using improper methods, posing a risk to food safety. Furthermore, the workers were not adhering to hygiene and food safety procedures, and wastewater was being discharged in a manner that polluted the environment. This raid resulted in the arrest of the factory owner, identified as: - W. J. (Born in 1994, Syrian) The detainee was handed over to the relevant department to carry out the necessary legal action against him, and the factory was sealed with red wax, after more than 3.9 tons of peeled garlic and 2.4 tons of peeled and cut potatoes were seized inside it, all of which did not meet health requirements. They were destroyed in the landfill belonging to the municipality of Qab Elias in accordance with health standards, in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Health, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.
