Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement:
Media outlets and social media platforms circulated a video showing a woman expressing dissatisfaction with the situation regarding the removal of 11 tents from a tent project under preparation in the Choueifat area, intended to accommodate people displaced by the war, implying that the Internal Security Forces were responsible for their removal.
Therefore, the General Directorate wishes to clarify the following:
First: In light of the war, the duties of the security forces have increased to maintain security and protect society, especially displaced persons. They are, first and foremost, our people, and our institution will always remain close to them and by their side. We are keen on their safety and well-being. Based on the recommendations of the Disaster Risk Management Unit, efforts have focused on assisting them and directing them to officially designated shelters, while providing the necessary support and securing their basic needs, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Second: The removal of the tents mentioned in the video was carried out based on an order from the competent judiciary, as they were considered in violation of the law, and in line with the above-mentioned effort to encourage relocation to available shelters for their protection. The unit informed the property owner of the judicial order, who proceeded to تنفيذ it and removed the tents himself, not the Internal Security Forces as suggested in the woman’s statement.
Third: The officer concerned by the woman’s accusations received her in his office and treated her professionally and wisely. He did not shout at her or insult her in any way; rather, he explained the mechanism of the judicial order and that the authority of the Internal Security Forces is limited to its execution. However, she threatened to raise the issue on social media, which resulted in a biased statement against the Internal Security Forces that is unfounded.
Fourth: The Directorate emphasizes its constant commitment to taking humanitarian and social conditions into account, especially in light of the difficult circumstances facing the country. At the same time, it stresses that any humanitarian initiative must be carried out in accordance with legal procedures or through coordination with the Disaster Risk Management Unit—particularly under the current circumstances—to establish shelters for displaced persons under state authority, away from random encampments.
On this occasion, the Directorate urges citizens to exercise caution and accuracy in reporting and sharing news, and affirms that it will not tolerate the pursuit of those spreading false information or misleading public opinion, in accordance with applicable laws. It also calls on all citizens and relevant parties to cooperate with the competent authorities and operate within legal frameworks to ensure the public interest.
Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit to combat violations related to food safety and consumer protection, and as a continuation of the measures taken against unlicensed dairy and cheese production facilities that fail to meet health standards, Bureau personnel, accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, conducted inspections of several dairy and cheese manufacturing plants in the Qaraoun area. The inspections revealed that two factories were using palm oil in the production of dairy products and cheeses, in violation of the applicable standards and regulations. Accordingly, both facilities were sealed with red wax, and the necessary legal measures were taken against those responsible under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities. Investigations remain ongoing to uncover all circumstances surrounding the violations and to take the appropriate actions. As part of the continued follow-up of these measures, Bureau personnel also inspected a dairy and cheese manufacturing plant in the Aramoun area. The inspection revealed that the facility was likewise using palm oil in violation of approved health standards and regulations. Consequently, the factory was sealed with red wax, and the necessary legal measures were taken against those responsible. The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces reaffirms its commitment to pursuing violations that affect public health and food safety and to taking all necessary legal measures against offenders.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: The Mukhtar of the town of Qandoula – Batroun filed a complaint stating that his residence had been burglarized through forced entry. As a result of investigations and inquiries conducted by personnel of the Douma Police Station of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, the identity of the suspect and his place of residence in the town of Majdel – Koura were established. He was subsequently arrested and identified as: A. M. (born in 2006, Syrian) During interrogation, he confessed to the burglary and admitted committing it with the assistance of two other individuals who were working at a construction site in the area of Afsdiq – Koura: A. H. (born in 2010, Syrian) Y. A. (born in 2008, Syrian) In coordination with the North Investigation Unit, both suspects were arrested. During questioning, they confessed to the charges against them and disclosed the location of the stolen items. They also admitted to another burglary committed in the town of Majdel – Koura. Further investigation revealed that the suspects had carried out several residential burglaries, including two in Majdel – Koura, one in Assia (Batroun District), and another in Qandoula. The necessary legal measures were taken against them. Most of the stolen property was recovered and returned to its owners, and the suspects were referred to the competent judicial authority based on the instructions of the competent judiciary.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest those involved in drug-related crimes, and within the framework of the security plan implemented by the Judicial Police Unit to combat this scourge and curb its spread, and in the context of cooperation and information exchange, the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau received information on 19-05-2026 from the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, indicating that a large quantity of Captagon pills intended for smuggling was being concealed inside a warehouse in the Jiyyeh area. The Bureau immediately launched field and intelligence operations, identifying the warehouse location and placing it under close surveillance. Within hours of receiving the information, a patrol from the Central Anti-Narcotics Bureau, supported by the Saida Regional Anti-Narcotics Bureau, carried out a raid on the warehouse. The operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of Captagon pills hidden inside asphalt rolls and professionally camouflaged. The warehouse owner was also arrested: M. H. (born in 1983, Lebanese) Following the weighing process, it was determined that the quantity of pills concealed within the asphalt rolls amounted to 708 kilograms, equivalent to approximately 3.9 million Captagon pills. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, Bureau personnel succeeded in identifying the location where the narcotics had been packaged, in the area of Bhamdoun. After conducting surveillance and reconnaissance operations, a carefully planned raid was carried out by a Central Bureau patrol, leading to the seizure of the remaining asphalt rolls and the arrest of: A. A. (born in 1972, Syrian) During interrogation, he admitted his involvement, along with others, in preparing the shipment for smuggling. By exploiting the results of the investigation and continuing surveillance and tracking operations, the Bureau was able to identify the principal suspect and mastermind behind the smuggling operation: A. H. (born in 1973, Lebanese) Investigations revealed that he had previously been arrested in connection with a drug-smuggling case to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2016. He was also wanted under an in absentia judgment issued by the Lebanese judiciary sentencing him to five years’ imprisonment. In a specialized operation carried out by a patrol from the Bekaa Regional Anti-Narcotics Bureau, he was arrested in the Bar Elias area. The investigation remains ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authority, and efforts continue to identify and arrest the remaining members of the network.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following communiqué was issued: As part of the daily efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat theft operations across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information regarding an unidentified individual carrying out burglaries targeting residences in Mount Lebanon. A video was also circulated on social media showing the suspect committing a burglary inside a residence in Bourj Hammoud before fleeing aboard a blue van of unknown additional specifications. Consequently, the specialized units of the Information Branch launched field and intelligence operations to identify and arrest the suspect. Following investigations and inquiries, they succeeded in identifying him as: R. J. (born in 1996, Lebanese) On 22-05-2026, following a meticulous surveillance and monitoring operation, a patrol from the Branch arrested him in the Nabaa area while driving a blue Mitsubishi van used in the theft operations. The vehicle was seized. A search of the suspect and the van led to the seizure of a quantity of hashish, remnants of marijuana, a booklet of rolling papers, and two mobile phones. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges brought against him. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items and the van, to the competent authority upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
