The Financial Crimes Bureau shut down five unlicensed dairy and cheese factories that failed to meet health standards in Qab Elias.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement:

As part of the continuous efforts undertaken by the competent units of the Internal Security Forces to pursue crimes of all kinds across Lebanese territory and arrest their perpetrators, particularly those related to food safety,

and in coordination with the competent judiciary, a patrol from the Financial Crimes and Money Laundering Bureau of the Judicial Police Unit, accompanied by veterinarians from the Ministry of Agriculture, shut down five dairy and cheese factories in the town of Qab Elias – Bekaa, as they were operating without legal licenses and lacked the minimum required health standards.

The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary.

The Information Branch arrested a man in Tripoli who fraudulently stole a bank card and used it to withdraw a retired citizen’s salary, before returning the amount to its owner.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 01-05-2026, while citizen M.Z. (born in 1982) was withdrawing his retired father’s salary from an ATM in the Tall area of Tripoli, an unidentified individual fraudulently stole the bank card along with the paper containing the PIN code. About an hour later, he received a text message on his mobile phone informing him that the entire monthly salary had been withdrawn from the account. Accordingly, instructions were given to the competent units to carry out field and intelligence measures in order to identify and arrest the thief. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch identified the suspect as: M.M. (born in 1994, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for bank card thefts and had previously been arrested for the same offense. On 04-05-2026, following careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the Branch’s patrols arrested him in the Mina area of Tripoli while he was driving a Mercedes vehicle, which was seized. During the search of the suspect and the vehicle, a quantity of narcotics and the stolen money were found in his possession. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him, namely carrying out the fraudulent theft of the bank card and withdrawing the money using it. The stolen amount was returned to the complainant. The necessary legal measures were taken against the detainee (M.M.), and both he and the seized items were referred to the competent authority upon the instruction of the competent judiciary.

The Dahr El-Baidar checkpoint arrested two individuals aboard a passenger van and seized narcotic substances in their possession.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: As part of efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution operations across Lebanese territory, and to pursue and arrest those involved, members of the Dahr El-Baidar checkpoint became suspicious, on 07-05-2026, of two individuals aboard a passenger van: T.M. (born in 1996, Lebanese), the van driver M.A. (born in 1986, Syrian) Upon searching them, a quantity of narcotic substances was seized in their possession, consisting of 203 grams of marijuana and 26 grams of cocaine. The two detainees were handed over to the competent unit in order to carry out the necessary legal measures against them, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judiciary.

In a special operation, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit arrested two individuals who had robbed motorcycles and money from their riders at gunpoint, one of whom was wanted by the judiciary.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: As part of the continuous efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces units to combat robbery crimes and motorcycle thefts across various Lebanese regions, and following a complaint filed by a citizen stating that two unidentified individuals riding a black “GR” motorcycle without registration plates had robbed citizens of their motorcycles and wallets using military pistols, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie, through inquiries, investigations, and follow-up operations, was able to determine the suspects’ location in the Kafaat area. Accordingly, a force from the unit headed to the mentioned area and carried out a special operation that resulted in the arrest of two individuals riding a black Yamaha motorcycle. They are: E.K. (born in 2008, Syrian), according to his statement M.K. (born in 1998, Syrian), according to his statement Two military pistols with a number of live rounds were seized in their possession, in addition to tools used in robbery operations, an amount of money, and a mobile phone. It was also found that the second suspect is wanted by the judiciary for robbery and motorcycle theft crimes, and that his phone contained numerous photos of motorcycles and narcotics. He stated that he works for another individual, and efforts are ongoing to arrest him. The detainees and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit in order to carry out the necessary legal procedures against them, upon the instruction of the competent judiciary.

The Internal Security Forces warn against the use of applications intended for children and adolescents that belong to an Israeli company.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: As part of the continuous efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to protect citizens from security risks associated with the use of electronic applications, it has been found that a number of applications available on smartphone stores operating on iOS and Android systems belong to an Israeli company and are being used by some citizens. Among these applications is “Room And A Half,” developed by PARTY POOPERS company. Available information has shown that the application collects data from devices on which it is installed, including geolocation, device data, technical identifiers, and personal information. In some cases, it also allows access to message content, photos, and contact data. It was also found that the aforementioned company, headquartered in Tel Aviv, has recently released several applications intended for children and adolescents, most notably: ROOM AND A HALF SURVIVOR ARCADE HEAVEN KITCHEN SWIPE ROAD BUSTERS – MINI GAMES PARTY REDGUNNING HOO ROOM AND A HALF Therefore, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces warns citizens against downloading or using these applications and calls for their immediate deletion from phones if already installed, due to the potential risks they may pose to privacy and information security. The Directorate also urges citizens to exercise caution when downloading any application, to verify its source and permissions before installation, and not to grant permissions that may allow access to their personal data and privacy.
