the following statement:
On 31/01/2026, in the Abi Samra – Tal‘at Al-Rifaiyya area, two unidentified individuals riding a small motorcycle fired a live round from a military handgun in the direction of a minor female identified as (N. D., born in 2010, Lebanese), who was walking in the area accompanied by her mother and sisters, resulting in her being injured in her right leg. This incident sparked public outrage in the city of Tripoli.
Immediately, the Information Branch initiated field and technical measures to identify the perpetrators as quickly as possible. Following intensive investigations and inquiries, their identities were established as:
– Z. K. (born in 2006, Lebanese);
– M. K. (born in 2000, Lebanese).
On 04/02/2026, during a simultaneous operation, a patrol from the Information Branch arrested the first suspect in the Souk Al-Attarine area of Tripoli. Meanwhile, a force from the Branch raided a chalet in one of the seaside resorts in the Qalamoun area, where the second suspect was hiding, and succeeded in arresting him. A quantity of drugs and a motorcycle were seized in his possession.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed that while (Z. K.) was driving the motorcycle, (M. K.) was handling the handgun in his possession, when a shot was accidentally fired toward the ground. They continued on their way without knowing that the bullet had struck a young girl in the area. The latter later attended a private party where he fired shots into the air using the same weapon, prompting him to go into hiding. It should be noted that the handgun belonged to a friend who retrieved it on the night of the incident.
The necessary legal measures were taken against both suspects, and they were referred to the competent authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent judiciary.
Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: Pursuant to instructions from the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces circulates the photo of an individual arrested by the Beirut Judicial Police Unit on charges of fraud and unlawfully obtaining money from citizens by impersonating an “electricity bill collector.” It was found that a number of citizens fell victim to his fraudulent acts in several areas of the Mount Lebanon and Beirut governorates. He is identified as: Kh. A. (born in 1973, Palestinian) Accordingly, the Directorate requests that anyone who has fallen victim to his actions and recognizes him report to the headquarters of the aforementioned unit, located at Barbar El Khazen Barracks – Verdun, or call one of the following numbers: 01-810170 or 01-810171, in preparation for the necessary legal measures to be taken.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: On 04-02-2026, unknown armed individuals traveling in three vehicles intercepted a group of young men riding in a passenger van in the Minieh area. They pointed military-grade weapons at them, smashed the van’s windows, and fled to an unknown destination. The incident sparked a wave of anger in the area and was widely circulated on social media. Immediately, instructions were given to the competent units of the Information Branch to carry out field and intelligence measures to determine the circumstances of the incident, identify those involved, and arrest them. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Branch succeeded within hours in identifying those involved in intercepting the van and assaulting the young men inside, including: Kh. S. D. (born in 1987, Lebanese) M. K. (born in 1994, Lebanese) On the same date, following a precise surveillance and monitoring operation, a patrol from the Branch arrested the first suspect in Minieh, while the second turned himself in. A Kalashnikov-type rifle was seized. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent unit based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: It has recently been observed that emails and text messages have been sent to individuals and local entities, whose senders claim to be from the Israeli intelligence service “Mossad.” These messages include attempts at threats or extortion and may aim to gather information or create confusion among citizens. Accordingly, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces urges the public not to respond to or interact with these messages under any circumstances and to report them immediately to the relevant security units, as doing so helps limit the risk of exploitation of citizens or institutions and strengthens national cybersecurity. The Directorate also emphasizes that the prompt reporting of such suspicious messages contributes to preventing risks, protecting citizens and institutions, and enhancing digital safety.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: 1- As part of the ongoing efforts carried out by the units of the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest individuals wanted by the judiciary, and as a result of investigations and inquiries conducted by the Bekaa Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, one of its patrols arrested, on 29-01-2026, a man in the town of Saadnayel identified as: A. A. (born in 1983, Palestinian) He was wanted by the judiciary pursuant to an arrest warrant for having, on 25-01-2026, stabbed a person in the head and struck him in the face with a sharp object, which led to the victim being transferred to hospital for medical treatment. 2- In the same context, after receiving information that an individual was terrorizing citizens and assaulting them with a sharp object and a knife, identified as: A. Z. (born in 1991, Lebanese), wanted by the judiciary under two arrest warrants for drug trafficking, Following investigations and within a short period of time, a patrol from the unit succeeded in arresting him in the town of Taalabaya on 02-02-2026. A six-notch knife and an iron bar were seized in his possession. The two detainees and the seized items were handed over to the competent units in order to take the necessary legal measures against them, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
