From an unidentified body to a shocking confession: the Information Department uncovers the circumstances behind a young man’s death in Ghadir

12/12/2025

Statement issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces — Public Relations Division

The following statement:

On 14-11-2025, the body of an unidentified young man, in his early twenties, was found lying on the ground in the locality of Ghadir – Kesrouan. The forensic examination revealed that the death resulted from strangulation.

The competent units of the Internal Security Forces immediately launched field and investigative procedures to identify the victim and clarify the circumstances of the case.
Following these efforts, the Information Department succeeded in identifying the deceased as S. D. M., approximately 19 years old, of Lebanese nationality.

Through intensive inquiries and investigations, it was determined that at dawn on 14-11-2025, a Volkswagen vehicle had arrived at the location where the body was found. The vehicle was identified as belonging to:
Z. A. B. (born in 1990, Lebanese), the victim’s mother, who was wanted under an arrest warrant for theft.

On 15-11-2025, after meticulous surveillance, a patrol from the Information Department managed to arrest the suspect inside the residence of her friend in Koura.

During questioning, she stated that when she returned to her home in Amchit on the afternoon of 13-11-2025, she found her son (S. D. M.) hanging at the door of his room. After taking him down and confirming his death, she left the house, leaving the body on the floor, and refrained from reporting the incident because she knew she was wanted by the authorities.

She added that she returned after midnight and sought the help of her neighbors to place the body in her vehicle, misleading them by claiming he was suffering from a medical emergency and needed to be taken to a hospital. She then drove to Harissa, where she attempted to dispose of the body in a wooded area but was unable to lift it. She therefore left it by the roadside and went to her friend’s house in Koura to hide, without the friend knowing what had happened.

Legal measures were taken against the mother, who was referred to the competent authority in accordance with judicial instructions.
