Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement:
Based on information received by the Mount Lebanon Investigation Division of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit regarding a shooting incident in the locality of Bir Hassan – Al-Mourouj School Street, where an unidentified individual, driving a black BMW X5 against the flow of traffic, opened fire with a military pistol following a verbal altercation between him and another driver who happened to be passing through the area.
The gunfire struck a Honda vehicle driven by a female citizen who was passing through the المذكورة location, without any reported injuries.
As a result of investigations, field follow-up, and surveillance, the ownership of the vehicle and the identity of its driver were determined. His location was also identified in the Moawad area – commercial market.
Accordingly, a patrol from the division proceeded to the location, cordoned off the area, and arrested him while he was inside the المذكورة vehicle. He is identified as:
A.A. (born in 1991, Syrian national)
The suspect and the vehicle were handed over to the competent unit in order to undertake the necessary legal proceedings against him, based on the direction of the competent judicial authority.
Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: As part of monitoring social media platforms, a newly created website named “m2wa.com” was identified. It was established on 01-03-2026 and designated for registering displaced persons.Through follow-up conducted by the Information Branch of the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, it was found that this website is suspicious.Accordingly, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces warns citizens and residents against accessing or interacting with this website, in order to avoid data hacking and the theft of personal information.The Directorate also reiterates its warning not to access any suspicious, unsafe, or unverified websites, pages, or links, to avoid being subjected to hacking operations that may target accounts, personal data, or lead to financial theft.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following: On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr tomorrow, and in order to avoid traffic congestion on the western lane of the highway from Jounieh toward Beirut—where it is customary to divert traffic daily at 11:00 from Beirut toward Jounieh—exceptionally tomorrow, traffic will not be diverted toward Jounieh and will remain as is throughout the day in the direction of Beirut. Therefore, the public is requested to take note and comply with the instructions of the Internal Security Forces personnel, their guidance, and the traffic signs in place, in order to facilitate traffic flow.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: Further to our previous statement regarding individuals carrying out fraud operations عبر social media, exploiting the conditions of displaced citizens by publishing fake advertisements for apartment rentals, and as part of the intensive follow-up conducted by the Internal Security Forces to identify those involved in these operations. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, the Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Protection Bureau within the Judicial Police Unit succeeded in identifying one of the main suspects involved in these operations, identified as: J. A. (born in 1990, Lebanese) On 16-03-2026, following a precise surveillance and monitoring operation, information was obtained about his whereabouts, and a patrol from the bureau proceeded to arrest him. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him, including creating fake accounts on social media applications and publishing false advertisements for apartment rentals. He would lure victims into sending advance payments (deposits) via money transfer companies, then cut off all communication with them after receiving the funds. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent judicial authority based on the decision of the relevant court. Efforts are ongoing to arrest all those involved in these fraudulent networks.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: On 24-2-2026, the decomposed body of an unidentified man was found on the shore of “Rankin” Island – Al-Mina/Tripoli. It was transferred to Batroun Governmental Hospital, and no one has come forward to inquire about him. Description of the body: height approximately 176 cm; wearing a wool shirt colored burgundy and brown with horizontal stripes, and a green undershirt. Therefore, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces requests that relatives or anyone who knows anything about him contact the Tripoli Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit at the number: 06-423039, in order to take the necessary legal measures in preparation for handing over the body.
