The following statement:

On June 23, 2026, an altercation occurred in the Qasqas area between W. M. (born in 1991, Lebanese) and Q. M. (born in 1994, Lebanese) as a result of previous family disputes.

During the incident, Q. M. fired a handgun at W. M., striking his vehicle with several rounds before fleeing to an unknown location. A video documenting the incident later circulated widely on social media.

Immediately following the incident, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces were instructed to launch field investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts to locate and apprehend the shooter.

As a result of these investigations, the Information Branch identified the suspect’s whereabouts in the Chatila area.

On June 29, 2026, following a carefully planned surveillance operation, one of the Branch’s patrols arrested him in the aforementioned area. Officers also seized a handgun, one magazine, and 13 rounds of live ammunition in his possession.

The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred, together with the seized items, to the competent authority upon the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces' daily efforts to combat crime in all its forms, particularly human trafficking and prostitution-related offenses, a patrol from the Mount Lebanon Intelligence Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie arrested, shortly after midnight on July 7, 2026, four women suspected of engaging in prostitution on the coastal road in the Maameltein area. They are: H. M. (born in 1998, Syrian national) – residing illegally in Lebanon. L. K. (born in 1997, Syrian national) – residing illegally in Lebanon. J. K. (born in 2002, Kenyan national) – residing illegally in Lebanon. N. S. (born in 1978, Lebanese national). The detainees were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal proceedings to be taken against them, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: On July 3, 2026, I. H. (born in 1986, Lebanese) was admitted to a hospital in Halba after sustaining a gunshot wound to the abdomen from a hunting rifle. She later succumbed to her injuries. Immediately after the incident, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces launched field investigations and intelligence-gathering efforts to uncover the circumstances of the homicide, identify the perpetrator, and bring him to justice. Following intensive investigations, the Information Branch identified the victim's husband as the prime suspect. He is: K. M. (born in 1974, Lebanese). Later that same day, following a carefully planned surveillance operation, one of the Branch's patrols located the suspect's hiding place in the town of Akkar Al-Atika. Less than one hour after the crime had been committed, officers ambushed and arrested him. During questioning, he confessed to the crime, admitting that he had shot his wife following a family dispute, causing her death. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent judicial authority in accordance with its instructions.

Preemptive security operation by the Information Branch leads to the arrest of the General Security Emir of ISIS’s so-called “South and Central Provinces” in Syria.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the proactive security operations carried out by the Internal Security Forces' Information Branch to track down and arrest members of terrorist organizations, and following extensive surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts, the Branch arrested: H. R. (born in 1994, Syrian national) on June 30, 2026. Investigations revealed that he currently serves as the General Security Emir of the so-called "South Province" and "Central Province" in Syria, both affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS. Preliminary investigations also showed that he had held several leadership positions within the organization before assuming the role of General Security Emir for the two aforementioned provinces. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing the organization's security activities and operations in both provinces, in coordination with officials and emirs in ISIS's other provinces across Syria. The necessary legal measures were taken against him in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

Traffic measures on July 12, 2026, in Marina – Dbayeh on the occasion of the Lebanese Cycling Championship, in Harajel on the occasion of the Harajel Marathon, and in the Tel el-Zaatar – Dekwaneh area on the occasion of the second drift race.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division The following statement: First: At 8:00 a.m. on July 12, 2026, the Lebanese Cycling Federation will organize the Lebanese Cycling Championship for Persons with Disabilities in the Marina–Dbayeh area, between Golden Beach and the Martyr Brigadier General Wissam Al Hassan Barracks in Dbayeh along the coastal road. The race will be held over several laps. For this occasion, the affected roadway will be closed and traffic will be diverted throughout the event. Second: At 8:00 a.m. on July 12, 2026, the Harajel Marathon will take place on the Harajel highway. Traffic will be diverted as follows: Downhill traffic will be redirected via Nabaa Al Maghara Road toward Fouad Restaurant. Uphill traffic will be redirected toward the Qarqouf area, continuing to the highway near Jalsat Al Arzal Restaurant. These traffic diversions will remain in effect until the end of the marathon. Third: From 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on July 12, 2026, the Second Drift Competition will take place in the Tell El-Zaatar – Dekwaneh area. Accordingly, the road in the area will be closed to traffic until the conclusion of the event. Citizens are requested to comply with the instructions of Internal Security Forces personnel and the directional signs posted in the affected areas in order to ensure public safety and prevent traffic congestion.
