The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat motorcycle theft across various regions of Lebanon, the Information Branch obtained intelligence indicating that two unidentified individuals were involved in stealing motorcycles in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. A video documenting one of the thefts committed by the suspects was also circulated on social media.
Based on this information, the competent units within the Information Branch were instructed to carry out field operations and investigative measures to identify and apprehend those involved. As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the alleged ringleader is:
A.Q. (born in 2006, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for robbery and drug-related offenses and is the subject of an outstanding wanted notice for robbery and drug offenses.
On 1 July 2026, following surveillance and monitoring operations, an Information Branch patrol arrested him in Sin El Fil while he was riding a gray GR 150 motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. It was subsequently established that the motorcycle had been stolen on 8 June 2026 from Ain El Remmaneh.
A search of the suspect and the motorcycle resulted in the seizure of:
a military handgun containing a loaded magazine with one live round, along with a handgun holster;
a ring, a necklace with a live cartridge pendant, and a black bracelet with a gold-colored finish;
three mobile phones;
an amount of cash.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to the charges against him. He admitted that, together with other individuals, he had carried out numerous motorcycle thefts in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, including in Ain El Remmaneh and Maamoura. He also admitted to firing shots at an individual on 9 June 2026, as well as selling stolen motorcycles on behalf of a person residing in the Lailaki area. Furthermore, he admitted to using narcotic drugs, including cocaine base and cannabis.
The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he, together with the seized items, was referred to the competent judicial authority pursuant to the instructions of the competent public prosecutor. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 19 August 2026, A. A. (born in 1989, Lebanese national) reported to Dahr el-Baidar Police Station that he had been robbed of US$8,000 belonging to the medical equipment company he works for in the Bwarej area. Following an investigation conducted by Dahr el-Baidar Police Station, it was established that no robbery had taken place. When confronted with the information and evidence gathered, he admitted that he had stolen the money himself and hidden it at his home in Hammana, before reporting a false robbery to the police in an attempt to cover up the theft. A patrol from Dahr el-Baidar Police Station proceeded to Hammana and searched his residence, where the full amount of the stolen money was recovered. He was arrested pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority, and the entire amount was returned to the owner of the company.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information about two individuals suspected of stealing sums of money, bicycles, and gas cylinders from several homes in the Salima – Baabda area. Following extensive investigations and close monitoring, a patrol from the Detachment arrested the two suspects in the aforementioned area while they were riding a white motorcycle without a license plate. Both suspects were found to be minors. They were identified as: A. A. (born in 2010, Syrian national); W. F. (born in 2009, Lebanese national). The two detained minors and the motorcycle were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat various forms of crime, the Information Branch obtained information about a gang involved in burglaries targeting homes and commercial establishments by breaking and entering in several areas of the Mount Lebanon Governorate. Following this information, the Branch’s specialized units launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the gang members. Extensive investigations revealed that the gang members used a Kia Picanto to carry out their burglaries. The Branch also succeeded in identifying several members of the gang, including: J. A. (born in 1986, Syrian national) J. M. (born in 1988, Syrian national). On 5 August 2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, a Branch patrol arrested the first suspect in the Sehayleh area. During questioning, he admitted to the allegations against him. He confessed that, in coordination with the second suspect and accompanied by another individual who remains at large, he had carried out numerous break-ins and burglaries targeting offices and commercial establishments in several areas of the Mount Lebanon Governorate, particularly in Metn and Kesrouan, including Jdeideh and Zouk Mosbeh. It was also established that he had entered Lebanon illegally. The second suspect also admitted to the allegations against him and acknowledged that he had agreed with the first suspect to receive a sum of money in exchange for participating in the burglaries. The mobile phone he used to coordinate with the first suspect was also seized. The necessary legal measures were taken against both detainees. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the burglaries.

The Directorate General of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts by specialized Internal Security Forces units to track down and apprehend perpetrators of crimes across Lebanon, the Mount Lebanon Investigation Detachment of the Territorial Gendarmerie Unit received information regarding the whereabouts of an individual suspected of carrying out several motorcycle thefts in various areas of Beirut’s southern suburbs. Following investigative efforts, a patrol from the Detachment succeeded in arresting him on 3 August 2026 in the Al-Qaem area of Beirut’s southern suburbs. He was identified as: M. T. (born in 1993, Lebanese national), who is wanted by the judiciary under several judicial warrants. A search of the suspect revealed tools used in thefts in his possession. The detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit for the necessary legal action, pursuant to the instructions of the competent judicial authority.
