Traffic measures for three days in the Zokak El-Blat area due to maintenance works on rainwater drainage openings.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following: A contracting company will carry out maintenance works on rainwater drainage openings (“regards”) in the Zokak El-Blat area – at the intersection of Zokak El-Blat Mosque toward Husseiniyat Al-Zahraa, starting from 6:00 p.m. on 17-04-2026 until 7:00 a.m. on 20-04-2026. These works will lead to the closure of the road in the area, with traffic being diverted to Judge Al-Kasti Street. Citizens are requested to take note and comply with the instructions and guidance of the Internal Security Forces personnel, as well as with directional traffic signs, in order to prevent congestion.

The Internal Security Forces begin pursuing those responsible for gunfire and rocket-propelled projectiles in the southern suburbs.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: Following the announcement of the ceasefire, heavy gunfire was reported in several neighborhoods of the southern suburbs, in addition to the إطلاق of rocket-propelled projectiles. Immediately, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field measures to identify those responsible for the gunfire and to pursue and arrest them, in preparation for taking the necessary legal actions against them based on the instructions of the judiciary. The General Directorate affirms that it will not tolerate any breach of security and public order, and calls on citizens to refrain from firing weapons under any circumstances, due to the danger this phenomenon poses to public safety.

The Internal Security Forces remind the relatives of those missing as a result of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon to attend and provide DNA samples to help identify the victims

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: Further to our previous statement regarding facilitating the identification of missing, unidentified victims or human remains, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces reminds the relatives of the missing, the the need for them to attend daily from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at one of the incident offices التابعة to the Judicial Police Unit in the governorates, in order to provide the necessary samples for DNA testing, which contributes to identifying the victims or remains. Please bring one of the following identification documents (passport, family civil registry extract, or identity card). It is preferable that two relatives from the direct ascendants or descendants (father, mother, children) be present. If this is not possible, they may be siblings. The Dekwaneh police station is pursuing illegal transaction-processing offices in the vicinity of the “Nafaa” and has sealed a number of them with red wax.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts carried out by the Internal Security Forces to monitor the work of driving schools and to pursue illegal transaction-processing offices, members of the Dekwaneh police station in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit inspected the documents of these offices and their methods of operation in the vicinity of the Vehicle Registration Department (“Nafaa”) – Dekwaneh, to verify their compliance with legal requirements. Several violations were recorded, and legal measures were taken accordingly through judicial reports and based on the direction of the competent judiciary, as follows: 9 transaction-processing offices (illegal and prohibited) were sealed with red wax One driving school operating from a branch other than its licensed location was sealed with red wax One car plate manufacturing office, where an employee was carrying out transaction-processing activities داخل “Nafaa”, was sealed with red wax In addition, violations were identified in 10 insurance offices whose owners were carrying out transaction-processing activities The violators were released under residence undertakings after pledging not to engage again in transaction-processing activities. The Vehicle Registration Department was also provided with a list of the violators’ names in order to take the necessary measures.

He violently assaulted a man in front of his children in Tyre, leading to his death; the Information Branch arrested him the same day.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 13-4-2026, a dispute occurred in the city of Tyre between: M.T. (born in 1994, Lebanese) A.S. (born in 1972, Lebanese) The dispute escalated when the first individual violently assaulted the second in front of his home and in the presence of his children, leading to his death. The perpetrator then fled to an unknown destination. The crime caused widespread outrage among residents of the aforementioned area. Immediately, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence procedures. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able, on the same date, to locate and arrest the suspect in the city of Tyre. Legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over to the competent unit for further investigation, based on the direction of the relevant judicial authority.

The Information Branch uncovers the circumstances surrounding the death of two children in Hadath and arrests the mother after she confessed to the crime.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: At dawn on 28-02-2026, a child (F.I., born in 2020, Syrian) and his sister (R.I., born in 2017, Syrian) were admitted in critical condition to a hospital in the Hadath area. The girl soon passed away, and three days later, her brother also died. Following an examination by the forensic doctor, it was confirmed that both children had suffered a sudden lack of oxygen, and that the deaths were consistent with suffocation. During the initial investigation, the children’s mother: W.M. (born in 1996, Syrian) stated that she was surprised by the children’s condition when she attempted to wake them for the pre-dawn meal (suhoor), as they did not respond or move. She said she contacted A.Kh. (born in 1996, Syrian), who helped her transport them to the hospital, which he confirmed in his statement. Accordingly, the competent units of the Information Branch initiated the necessary procedures to uncover the circumstances of the deaths, especially following the forensic report, which raised suspicion that the mother had carried out the crime. On 27-03-2026, W.M. was summoned for questioning. As the investigation progressed and she was confronted with evidence proving her involvement, she confessed to killing her two children by suffocating them with a pillow while they were on her bed at her home in the Sahra Choueifat area. She then left them in that condition for an hour before contacting someone for help. She added that she committed the act due to psychological pressures she had been experiencing. The necessary legal measures were taken against her, and she was referred to the competent authority in accordance with the instructions of the judicial authority.

The Information Branch arrested a person in flagrante delicto while attempting to snatch a citizen’s handbag in the al-Tell area of Tripoli.

He was identified as: H. K. (born in 2001, Syrian national) The suspect was handed over to the concerned unit to take the necessary legal measures against him, in accordance with the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

H. D. (born in 1996, Lebanese) Accordingly, and based on instructions from the competent judicial authority, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces has circulated his photo and requests that anyone who has been a victim of his actions or recognizes him report to the Beirut Central Police Station (Bachoura – “Fire Brigade Building”), or call the following number: 01-656317, in preparation for the necessary legal procedures.

They stole an amount of money and gold jewelry worth approximately $50,000 USD, then burned the house furniture and fled. The Information Branch arrested two of them and seized 40 kilograms of cannabis.

The following statement was issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division: On 25-03-2026, unknown individuals broke into the home of (A. Sh., born in 1966, Lebanese) located in the Minyeh area. They stole from a safe an amount of approximately $30,000 USD, gold jewelry worth around $20,000 USD, and military pistols. They then set the house furniture on fire and fled to an unknown destination. Following this, the competent units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and intelligence procedures to identify and arrest those involved in the theft. As a result of investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able within hours to identify them, including: M. Sh. (born in 1984, Lebanese) On 26-03-2026, after careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested him in the Minyeh area. During interrogation, he confessed to the charges, admitting that he, along with three others, carried out the theft. He stated that his accomplices kept the stolen items and hid the pistols with (H. F., born in 1996, Syrian). He also added that he was hiding more than 40 kg of cannabis in an abandoned house above his place of residence, where it was subsequently seized. On the same date, the latter was arrested in the Minyeh area, and during interrogation, he also confessed to the charges against him. Legal measures were taken against both, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the competent authority based on judicial instruction. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.

Bekaa Investigation Unit arrests suspects and seizes military weapons and narcotics in Zahle

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to combat crime in all its forms and to apprehend perpetrators across various Lebanese regions: On 03-04-2026, while a patrol from the Bekaa Investigation Unit of the Regional Gendarmerie was carrying out a security and order maintenance mission on the occasion of Good Friday in the city of Zahle, and following the conclusion of the Way of the Cross procession, a Hyundai vehicle carrying several young men was suspected and intercepted after the driver attempted to flee. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of: – A quantity of cannabis (hashish) and rolling papers. – Two Kalashnikov rifles with nine magazines stored in a military bag. – A pistol with its magazine. – A combat knife and a face mask. All occupants of the vehicle were immediately arrested. They are: – A.Sh. (born in 2004, Lebanese) – A.H. (born in 2008, Lebanese) – N.Q. (born in 2005, Lebanese) The detainees and the seized items were handed over to the competent unit in order to carry out the necessary legal procedures against them, based on the instructions of the competent judicial authority.

The Information Branch dismantles a network that attempted to carry out a kidnapping for extortion.

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, the following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Internal Security Forces to combat crime, the Information Branch obtained intelligence regarding a failed kidnapping attempt targeting a citizen (K.A.) as he was leaving a sports club in Tripoli. A masked individual exited a black Mercedes vehicle carrying four individuals and pointed a military-grade handgun at him; however, the victim managed to escape. Immediately, specialized units from the Information Branch initiated field and intelligence measures. As a result of follow-up investigations, the identity of one of the suspects was established: – E.F. (born in 1999, Lebanese), who was inside the vehicle used in the operation. On 02-04-2026, following surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the branch apprehended him in the town of Dahr El Ain – Koura, and seized a military handgun in his possession. The masked individual who had brandished the weapon was also arrested and identified as S.A.H. During interrogation, both initially denied the charges but later confessed to carrying out the attempted kidnapping at the instigation of: – A.R. (born in 1983, Lebanese), in collaboration with another individual of Syrian nationality, identified as A.K., who was the planner and organizer of the operation. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the latter two suspects. The detainees confessed that the objective of the kidnapping attempt was to extort money from the victim’s father. It was also revealed that A.R. has a criminal record and is the subject of 12 outstanding judicial warrants. The necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent judicial authority in accordance with judicial instructions.
