Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division The following statement: As part of the daily monitoring conducted by the Internal Security Forces to combat motorcycle thefts in various Lebanese regions, orders were given to the specialized units within the Information Division to intensify their patrols in areas where such thefts are frequent, to identify those involved, and to arrest them. On January 15, 2026, as a result of surveillance and monitoring operations, one of the Division's patrols suspected an unknown individual of stealing a motorcycle in the Kahaleh area by breaking its handlebars. An ambush was immediately set up, and he was arrested in the area after attempting to flee. He was identified as: - E. Sh. (Born in 1999, Lebanese) During questioning, he confessed to the charges against him, specifically that he attempted to steal the motorcycle in the Kahaleh neighborhood by breaking its handlebars, and that he intended to sell it to someone in the Sabra neighborhood. He also admitted to using cocaine, stating that he had used it prior to his arrest. The necessary legal procedures were carried out, and he was referred to the relevant authorities, as directed by the competent judicial body.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations DivisionThe following statement: As part of the ongoing efforts carried out by the Internal Security Forces to pursue perpetrators of all types of crimes across the various Lebanese regions and apprehend them, information was obtained regarding an unidentified individual involved in snatch theft operations in the governorates of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Accordingly, the Information Branch intensified its field and intelligence measures. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, his identity was revealed as follows:H. A. (born in 1997, Lebanese national), who has a criminal record involving snatch theft, theft, robbery, and drug-related offenses. On 19/01/2026, following a precise surveillance and monitoring operation, a patrol from the aforementioned branch succeeded in arresting him in the Airport Road area while riding a black GR-type motorcycle, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle led to the seizure of the following items: An envelope labeled ADVIL containing one pill An envelope labeled ROMIPRIL containing 22 pills A white container labeled AMOCLAN containing white pills A plastic container labeled DJGMAX containing white pills A white plastic container labeled DEPAKINE Very small white stone-like fragments Two plastic containers containing a white stone-like substance Three stolen mobile phones, leather bags and personal belongings (stolen), and a sum of money in various currencies During the investigation, he confessed to the charges attributed to him, including carrying out numerous snatch thefts of bags and mobile phones in Beirut and the following areas: the southern suburbs, Ouzai, Bir Hassan, Haret Hreik, Hay el-Sellom, Airport Road, Ghobeiry, and Mreijeh. He also admitted to discarding documents in garbage containers and spending the stolen money on personal pleasures and drug use. The detainee, the motorcycle, and the seized items were handed over to the concerned unit to carry out the required legal procedures, upon instructions from the competent judicial authority.

On the occasion of the eighteenth anniversary of the martyrdom of Major Engineer Wissam Eid and his assistant Osama Mraeb, the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdullah, recited the Fatiha (the opening chapter of the Quran) at the tomb of the martyred Major Eid in the cemetery of the town of Deir Ammar on Sunday morning, January 25, 2026. Similarly, a delegation of Internal Security Forces officers, headed by the commander of the Zgharta Company in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit, Colonel Najib Shami, along with a delegation from the North Information Branch, headed by the branch chief, Colonel Omar Sharif, recited the Fatiha at the tomb of the martyred Major Eid and laid wreaths on behalf of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdullah, the Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Dr. Alfred Hanna, the head of the Information Division, Brigadier General Mahmoud Qabarsali, and the officers and personnel of the division. They also offered their condolences at the home of the martyred Major Eid's family. Also, another delegation, headed by the commander of the Bab al-Raml platoon, Major Mustafa al-Shaarani, recited the Fatiha at the shrine of the martyr adjudant Osama Muraab in the cemetery of the town of the martyr Bab al-Raml, and laid wreaths of flowers in the name of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdullah, in the name of the Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Dr. Alfred Hanna, in the name of the head of the Information Division, Brigadier General Mahmoud Qabarsali, and the officers and members of the division.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division: The following statement: Several thefts have recently occurred from inside cars and vans loaded with goods along the highway stretching from Zahle to Ablah. Following this, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces initiated field and investigative procedures to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. As a result of the investigations and inquiries, the Information Division was able to identify him as: - A.H. (born in 1983, Lebanese), a repeat offender with a history of theft and drug use, and against whom an arrest warrant had been issued for the same crimes. On January 19, 2026, following careful surveillance, a patrol from the division apprehended him in the town of Jalala. A search revealed he was in possession of a quantity of hashish. During interrogation, he confessed to committing more than six robberies of money from parked cars and vans, including in Zahle and Ferzol, as well as numerous burglaries. He also admitted to drug use. The detainee and the seized drugs were handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action, as directed by the competent judicial body.
